The dress was awful. Just looked like she forgot her top, and her pants were on show. Embarrassing. Not classy at all.

Instead of having conniptions about MN daring to criticise the dress, maybe question why none of the male participants in the event feel the need to wear what is effectively underwear on the red carpet.

So, having read the comments now. OK, we may have been a bit hard on the clothing. But how on earth has she gained this award.

Sharon Davies is a winner but I haven't seen anything on Mumsnet about her.

That outfit looked like it was out of an Ann Summers catalogue. Tacky.

I didn't like Gary Linker's purple suit either.

Her achievements are admirable.

I disliked the dress. It isn’t really a dress, it’s lingerie. I think she could look very striking and also wear an actual dress.

Why are none of the men wearing just boxers and a vest?

I'm delighted she won and that KJT was third. Two women on the podium!

But I am sorry that she chose a dress and shoes that she was so uncomfortable in that she had to mention them three times.

I feel it would have been better if she had worn something she felt comfortable in and that she could have walked up the catwalk in without worrying about her dress/shoes.

Yes, they do, shame she wasn't wearing one.

fantastic achievement, a classy dress would have been more appropriate than underwear & heels she can't walk in (I'd have worn ballet flats because I slide like Bambi wearing heels on shiny floors)

Was really pleased she won. She's a fantastic role model for any young girl who wants to play football. However I agree her dress choice was odd - she's a strong, healthy, fit woman, the dress screamed cheap and tacky.
