Few more empties
Batiste tropical dry shampoo- I didn't like this one, it left a white residue on my hair. The natural one is better.

Black poppy body spray- this is a dupe of something but I can't work out what. I will probably rp at some point.

No7 cleansing wipes- I had to throw 1/2 of these out as they had dried out. I only used them to remove make up which I don't wear often. I wouldn't rp these as they made my face sting a little.

L'occitane hand & nail cream- this was nice and softened my hands.

I have another empty:

  • Mildeen lavender oil: this was from German drugstore, Rossmann. Great value but I prefer other lavender oils I have used in the past.

Finally have some empties to report!
Softymo deep cleansing oil - love this a lot and this is a rp, super effective as it gets everything off and feels nice to use. I have another ready to replace it. Generally really like these type of oil cleansers.
Biossance squalene hyaluronic toning mist - loooove this. Mists really nicely, feels refreshing and totally non-sticky. Have rp
Elemis cleansing balm - I like the effect it has as it does get everything off and makes my skin feel nice but too fragranced for me. Have the Heimish balm cleanser to replace and looking forward to trying that out
Sunday Riley afterglow moisturiser - small sample, have another the same size to use up. It was fine, smells a bit like turmeric to me. Wouldn't rp as nothing special
AB soothing cream - really liked this but I also love the rich cream. Wore before sleep, felt soothing and skin super soft in the morning. Would never buy full price but happy to get it in a beauty box
Beauty of Joseon spf - love this and have rp lots of times. Have another one to use up amongst lots of others!

@paristotokyo - There is a new BOJ sunscreen forummulation. (Blue on the bottom of the tube). it’s even BETTER! (And BOJ has always been one of my favourites!!!) Thought I would recommend.
Also love Japanese cleansing oils. I find them effective and super cheap. (You can often buy refills from Stylevana for a few dollars less in foil bags. Saves on packaging too.)

Thereislightattheendofthetunnel · 17/09/2024 16:57

@Fraaahnces how are you doing? I have been thinking about you recently and your recommendations.

Any luck with the flooded bathroom? It feels like you are not have a break recently.

Take care xx

Fraaahnces · 18/09/2024 12:21

You’re a doll, @Thereislightattheendofthetunnel As for the bathroom. Was just superficial water damage and a slatternly woman who left her crap on the bench prior to going to work. We’re renting so wouldn’t be our issue if it was terrible. (Plus we have insurance…) Just glad it happened before it gets too hot here because it would be moldy so fast!
Healthwise, today has been a day. I shall PM you. X

paristotokyo · 18/09/2024 13:11

Thank you, I'll definitely look into those for my next haul 😍 @Fraaahnces

Peridot1 · 18/09/2024 14:47

A few empties! I have had them a while but didn’t get around to posting.

StriVectin body lotion for crepy skin. Supposed to use twice a day but of course I didn’t……. So no idea if it made any difference. I still look like I could do with ironing so probably not!

John Freida hair spray - very old so just getting rid

Body Shop Chamomile eye make remover. Like this a lot. I much prefer to take my eye make up off before I do the rest of my face.

Laniege milky ceramide toner/essence. A @Fraaahnces recommendation. Liked it but I think I prefer the Hada Lobo as it feels more hydrating for me. Would buy again though. Not just yet as I have a few essence toners to get through.

LRP Cicaplast baume. This went off so junking it. I do like it if my skin is sore. I had some HIFU treatments so used after those before it went off.

Biossance squalane hydrating mist - very nice. Would RP. It’s a good size for travelling.

Fraaahnces · 19/09/2024 04:17

@Peridot1 - the Laneige is apparently a different formulation to the one I am accustomed to. It is much lighter and less moisturising. Disappointed. I have jumped ship to TirTir Milky Rice Toner. It’s divine. (Comes in two “weights”. I gave the heavier one.)

MotherWol · 19/09/2024 10:16

Quite a few empties this month!

  • Geek and Gorgeous happier barrier, this is my second tube of this and it's definitely an HG product for me. Really moisturising and comforting.
  • La Roche Posay UVMUNE 400 - I think this is one of the facial sunscreens I like best, seems to offer really good protection, the only downside is it stains white clothing if you're not very careful
  • G&G A-Game 0.05% retinal - really nice texture, I had no purging or sensitivity, and more noticeable improvement in my skin tone and texture.
  • Laura Mercier tinted moisturiser - my fave, makes my face look glowier and less tired
  • Nivea Sun spf30 - works fine but nothing remarkable
  • CeraVe hydrating foaming oil cleanser - another HG, works great as the second step of a double cleanse after a balm, not stripping. The giant 400ml size lasted me 9 months!
  • Simple micellar water - gentle enough for eye makeup, effective and cheap
  • VO5 conditioner - fine, works well enough on my thick, frizzy wavy hair and DD's fine curly hair so will keep buying

Had to do a big restock because I've used up so much recently, so looking forward to that arriving this week!

@Fraaahnces hope you are ok hun xxx

My report for today:

  • Superdrug Me+ universal hair oil: really happy to have used this up. Basically creates very oily situation so can only apply before hair wash day. I would like to think it has done something for my hair but have no empirical evidence to support this notion, just wishful thinking. Am trying out the Extraordinary Oil now....
  • Maybelline Sky High mascara in "pink air": WTAF? Really do not wank pink mascara to draw more attention to perimenopausal fatigue! This was in the Superdrug Presents goodie bag - will be giving away as have not used.

I may have had a small spree at Superdrug earlier in the week but all for things I "needed".

Peridot1 · 19/09/2024 12:00

@Fraaahnces - isn’t it annoying when they do that? I did like it but as you say it’s not as hydrating as other similar products.

Experiment627 · 19/09/2024 15:10

Forgot to mention:

  • W7 More lashes mascara: this was awful - not so much in how my eyelashes looked after application but I felt like my lashes started to not grow anymore and look patchy and basically EPIC FAIL!

Btw @Experiment627 I bough Kingfishers fennel toothpaste and wow! it is amazing. How did you learn about it? I was looking for a toothpaste with fluoride but no added sugars (sorbitol, Sucralose etc) and this came up + your recommendation and others loving it. I’m open to more suggestions 😁

wheresmyshoe · 20/09/2024 09:31

69/100

No beauty advent for me as I won't make my goal before Christmas. I need to shop my stash. I have the Harrods fragrance advent so not missing the fun.

Elnett Hairspray- I've always used this, it does the job and I'm on to the next one.

M&S moisturiser- it's fine, I wouldn't seek it out but happy to use what I have.

This works shower gel - I like this, again wouldn't seek it out but happy to use. Not drying and nice scent.

Rituals body moisturiser - love this, it smells gorgeous and sinks in well. I have a ton of body lotion and if I ever get through it then this is high up on my shopping list.

@ITookYourJoob I have been using Kingfisher toothpaste for at least 10 years. I think my mum introduced me to them... she uses the aloe vera one but I am a fennel addict! They have a salt one too 🤢

Thereislightattheendofthetunnel · 20/09/2024 20:00

If they ever do a toothpaste in cinnamon flavour. No mint it it. I would love to know

ITookYourJoob · 20/09/2024 21:43

Yeah, not a fan on salt toothpaste either- had Welleda one and it was proper yuck. Never heard of cinnamon toothpaste, but in theory it could be nice🤔

Marvis have a cinnamon mint I believe, but I don’t really appreciate it with the mint in. Aniseed would be a good flavour too 😂

Sunday Riley Ice - I've really clicked with the Sunday Riley I've tried so far and this is great on my skin. Thick but easily absorbed, moisturises and plumps. Perhaps a little bit greasy but feels good generally. No repurchase due to needing to conquer the stash.

Just did a skincare restock having run out of a fair few things. This should see me through until at least the end of the year! The Elemis cleanser and C-Glow are the only things I’ve not tried before. I’m now on a minimal skincare spending budget until December, no advent calendars for me.

Nice haul @MotherWol. I’m still undecided about an advent calendar, though I’m very tempted by the John Lewis one.

I’ve also subscribed to the monthly Lush shower box from November onwards (because the seven big bars of soap in my cupboard are obviously not enough 😆).

Some empties:

Byoma creamy jelly cleanser - 170ml. This was a lovely gel cleanser. Didn’t need to use much so this bottle has lasted for months. I like Byoma, seems good value.

I’m From rice toner - 30ml. Absolutely loved this, lovely and creamy but still lightweight and absorbed pretty much instantly.

Flanerie eye serum - 20ml. Like all eye creams, I’m not sure this really did anything, but it was nice enough to use.

Origins Ginzing energising gel cream - 30ml. Quite rich for a gel cream. Wasn’t keen on the scent.

The Naked Bee coconut and honey lip balm - this was really good, might even rival my favourite Burts Bees honey lip balm. No lip balm sticks are as good as the Laniege lip sleeping mask though.

Philip Kingsley Elasticiser booster conditioner - 20ml. Fine. I’m a bit sick of Elasticiser things, they seem to be in every single beauty box and calendar.

Pink body lotion in coconut - 355ml. Like these lotions. The size has shrunk recently though - used to be over 400ml for the same price.

Soap & Glory Smoothie Star breakfast scrub - 300ml. My favourite body scrub. Smells amazing and just the right amount of scrubiness.

Experiment627 · 25/09/2024 15:29

wowsers @MotherWol what a haul!

I have two empties to report:

  • Live Love Locks Weightless conditioner: this is from The Blowout Professor who I watch all the time on YouTube. I prefer the conditioner to the shampoo but I do not think I would RP even if I wanted to prioritise my money to pay HUGE shipping costs.
  • Sainsburys denture cleaning tablets: were ok. Only used on my mouthguard - cannot comment for toilet limescale cleaning.

MotherWol · 25/09/2024 15:43

@Experiment627 the CeraVe is seemingly on permanent 3 for 2 but I don't use anything else in the range so 3 bottles of cleanser it is! Should see me through for months.
