Do you have your nails done?

Do you go to a salon on a regular basis and get acrylic extensions or gel overlays?
Or do you just have natural nails?

I do my own manicure - just a neutral nail polish once a week - but I have a pedicure every couple of months. Again just nail polish. I had acrylics once when I was a bridesmaid. Hideous!

Never. My own nails are in really good condition so I just keep them filed and tidy. I hate long nails and always keep them short. I'm getting married next autumn though and really fancy a deep burgundy or other autumnal colour but I'm afraid that the gels will ruin my nails. Would get just regular polish but not sure it would last and chipped polish would look awful. At least I have plenty time to think about it 😅

Not manicures, I have good natural nails, plus I like them fairly short. I do get gel pedicures in the summer though.

My latest pedicure is pretty grown out, so I will make an appt next week to just get them taken off.

I quite like Nailberry polishes and they have some lovely colours.

I also like Jessica polishes and they have a good range too.

No, never, not interested and I am definitely not high maintenance. Keep them natural and not very long. Waste of money for me as I'd just ruin them.

No. My nails are natural and short. I very occasionally wear varnish, but not often. I don’t like the look of long or very artificial looking nails.

I get BIAB done every 3 weeks. It makes me feel, well, polished and put together even if the rest of me looks a mess.
I used to do my nails with gel polish myself but it takes ages (can't do one hand whilst the other one dries) and with a full time job and child I just don't have the time.

You think these look fake and awful?

No. Never have. I keep them shortish and paint neutral something. Always have my toenails painted a bright colour, always do it myself.

Yes @LollipopChaos my hairdresser was scraping my scalp when washing my hair! I had to tell her to stop- she had no idea. Those look nice @anomaly2 but that’s what I do myself.

Gel polish fingers and toes every 3 weeks , £70. I'm considering acrylic overlays for my fingers though.

I do mine myself with regular polish, usually on a Sunday night and again on a Wednesday night. They are currently s dark green.

My nails are in good condition and don’t break easily so I paint them with regular polish every 5-7 days. I have 60+ bottles of polish as I like to change colours so would hate to be tied to one colour for 3 weeks.

They’re currently dark purple to match my new glasses but I’ll change them to match my outfit for Saturday night though not sure what colour works for a Great Gatsby theme!

I know I’ll sound smug, but I have lovely nails. Long or short, the shape is just good and they grow very long within about 10 days. I always get comments on them, even unpainted.

I do always shape and paint them these days - and I learned to do designs and French tips and home manicures and stamps and all sorts myself as a teen. I begrudge paying someone for something I have naturally. I had gels done a few times and they ruined my real nails, and needed refilling almost the next weekend.

No. Costs too much. Opted to get my hair done every 6 weeks instead, which makes a much bigger, positive difference to how I look and feel than nails.

No. I have had a manicure once in my life when I was given a birthday voucher for one.

I do my own but I'm trained to do it (although only do family and friends). Currently have biab but usually have gel, I make myself keep it on for 2 weeks but am always bored and desperate for a change well before then. I have naturally very weak nails and if I leave them ungelled they break very easily.

I love doing gel art on others but tend to keep my own pretty short and plain, although I do like a bright colour.

If I had to pay for it I probably wouldn't bother. I'm bad at getting my highlights done regularly enough and do my own base colour roots to hide the greys in between visits to the hairdresser.
