Would anyone like to join in on a 100 day princessing journey?

100 days from today is 1st December so a perfect time to start our princessing journeys. I’m overweight, constantly tired and feel generally rubbish about myself. I want to make this a priority so hopefully posting here will make all of us a little accountable and we can all support each other…

My starting list is:

  • Eat 5x fruit & veg a day
  • Drink 1 litre water a day
  • Walk +6k steps a day
  • Sort out my skin tags - I bought a removal pen from Amazon and have used it once. It worked really well so I’m not sure why I’ve not continued to use it
  • Declutter the house and set some routines - TOMM / one job every day and some sort of evening routine would be good
  • Establish a night time skin care routine - currently do nothing
  • Reduce screen time / Do things instead of scrolling and watching tv - e.g. reading, cross stitch
  • Weekly work related training / reading
  • Stick to Slimming World plan and go to class every week
  • Moisturise body every day

I never join these but I am in. I have really let things slide. I have just started a 90 day no alcohol challenge and this fits in nicely. So my plan

  1. Cut out alcohol
  2. increase water to 3 litres a day
  3. Body scrub and moisturise every day
  4. Weekly manicure / pedicure ( at home)
  5. Keep eyebrows / lashes tinted/ tidied
  6. Skincare routine morning / evening
  7. regular healthy meals
  8. swim 3 times a week
  9. weight train 3 times per week
  10. Complete my TELF course

I walk a lot anyway but since breaking my collarbone back in March the exercise has fallen by the wayside and I must get back to that.

stayathomer · 23/08/2023 06:32

I joined one before but then it disappeared and I went by the wayside! Thank you!
1.get back drinking water properly 2. find some for m of light exercise to do daily (my neck and shoulders aren’t great at the moment) 3. A scrub at least twice a week 4. Moisturise 5. cut out food after 8 6No phone after 7 7. Cut down cereal and white bread 8. Sleep(!)

Silverdogblue · 23/08/2023 06:34

Yessssss!!

im in. Thanks op.

Weatherwax13 · 23/08/2023 06:42

I love reading these threads vicariously but never join in. I'm having a really tough time and have been told repeatedly to "practice self care and be kind to yourself " So can I please join?
I've already worked on my weight this year and lost 16kg.
I'll try not to be over ambitious and try to remember what I used to like:
. Start yoga with Adriene every morning
. Get back into decent daily skincare - not just haphazardly when I remember.
. Mani/Pedi at home every week. I have so many colours and used to always do this.
. Hot bath with the essential oil diffuser going every morning after yoga
. Get back into 2x daily short meditation
. I do see the hairdresser regularly but I'm going ask for a complete change at my appointment next week
Glad I saw this thread:)

Bigminnie1 · 23/08/2023 07:45

I like this. I want to exercise 4 times a week- just a YouTube weights workout for 20 mins. I currently manage about twice. Walk 10 k steps daily and eat more mindfully and less crap. My meals are super healthy then I pick at food a lot.

StillOrSparklingMadam · 23/08/2023 07:47

I’ll join! Starting small though. When I’ve woken up a bit I’ll figure out my goal(s).

Cookie77777 · 23/08/2023 07:50

I'm in. My goals are simple;
-exercise, any form, every day. Even if just a walk
-actually take the supplements that sit, unused in the cupboard
-cut down phone use and pick up the kindle instead
-start using a face yoga app

NorthWestThree · 23/08/2023 07:55

Can I join? I'm feeling awful about myself and definitely need a goal or two to work on!

Disclaimer, I will start next week as I am off to a festival tomorrow and probably won't even shower 😂

OP your goals look very similar to what mine will be:

10k steps a day
Follow SW plan
Moisturiser on my neck every day - getting wrinkly and it is my main insecurity at the moment
Drink at least 2l water every day
Read more books! - reading not scrolling phone before I go to sleep

Maybe daft question - is this an established "thing" (the 100 days plan) and do you record how you are doing, tick things off a list, journal how it's going?

I really need to take control of my self care and not just mope about how fat ugly and useless I am!

Thank you

Dogsitterwoes · 23/08/2023 07:57

I wasn't sure what you meant by princessing but I'm in need of a big dose of self care too for the same reasons, so I'm in.

My list is
30 different plant foods a week (started 2 weeks ago) as it gets me out of my food rut, more vitamins and minerals, and good for gut health.
Cleanse and moisturise face once a day as I'm a soap and water woman and it shows.
Exfoliate and moisturise body once a week (same)
Get some sort of exercise every day
Cut down on box set binging and do more reading

Porageeater · 23/08/2023 08:04

I will join yes please. I’ve had the most awful time recently.

  1. skin care routine
  2. do yoga every morning
  3. keep eyebrows tinted
  4. Cut down sugar and fatty foods
  5. drink at least 2 l of water a day
NorthWestThree · 23/08/2023 08:07

Ooh I want to sort my feet out as well. They are horrible! Inspired by this I am currently soaking them in warm water and I have the dead skin scraper at the ready 😀

oohthathurts · 23/08/2023 08:08

I can relate to so many of these! Not looking after myself for so long has meant I've no idea if my HRT is working or not as I've no real baseline - my symptoms are no doubt menopause related but very likely exacerbated by poor living. My alcohol consumption is the root of my problems so that's being tackled, I'm cutting back not cutting out.

My vitamin d and other supplements are now actually making it into my mouth. I'm just at the end of a reformer Pilates course and have signed up to the next one.

Looking after my skin is a high priority. Including body moisturising every day. Have to say though I'm baffled at the array of face serums on The Ordinary! Which leads me to another resolution - finish the products I did invest in but used only sporadically before buying anymore!

Right, half a grapefruit and a bowl of Alpen for breakfast now. Oh and only 2 cups of caffeinated tea a day. Decaf after that to help with BP.

Thanks for this thread OP, its helping me focus and not beat myself up too badly, there is more than just me in this boat.

Good luck all x

SushiSuave · 23/08/2023 08:14

Hi all 👋, I'm going to join you!

I am already on a weight loss thread as I have about 2 stone to lose. I'm 6lb down in the 2 weeks I've been calorie counting so so far so good. But there's so much more I need to do!

I have a terrible habit of getting my hair cut once per year. Which means it looks nice for about 2 months and then goes into a bun for the rest of the year. Literally haven't worn my hair down since last November! I've pledged to myself to get my hair cut every 6-8 weeks with my first appointment being next week.

Im 33 and am also noticing fine lines beginning to appear around my eyes so keeping up with my skin care routine and general body moisturising is also starting now.

Finally, I desperately need new clothes. As I'm trying to lose weight I don't want to buy too much just yet but definitely need a few bits in the next week or so. I tend to wear everything until it's falling apart and then need to spend loads replacing a whole wardrobe. I have a minimal budget so am going to try and get 1/2 things per month so that I don't end up with a tatty wardrobe as everything is old.

So that's the plan. Feels a little overwhelming but hopefully I can stick to it!

CloakOfNope · 23/08/2023 08:21

I'm in! I've just started a diet so it's good timing for me. Here's my list:

  • Count calories every day
  • No snacking
  • Take my vitamins
  • Get a good moisturiser and use it every day
  • Floss every night
  • Use my split end remover once a month
  • Go to the gym twice a week (starting when the kids go back to school)
  • Clear out my wardrobe
  • Rest
Peddlefaster · 23/08/2023 08:24

This sounds great - place marking for when I can get my list together

Silverdogblue · 23/08/2023 08:25

For anyone wanting to up their water intake, Dash is lovely sparkling water with no artificial stuff in it. Let me know if you’d like a promo code.

Nuffaluff · 23/08/2023 08:28

I will join as I’m trying to take better care of myself at the moment. I’m not very kind to myself sometimes.

  1. Lose weight by eating healthily. I’m not dieting as such but am following the ‘Why we eat (too much)’ book. I’m only doing the eating more protein and fat bit first and cutting down on carbs and crap.
  2. Join the gym again. I used to love it but then Covid happened and I’ve lost that.
  3. Only use my phone for one hour a day. Read and write instead.
  4. Keep nails and feet nice by pampering.
  5. Drink water.
  6. Less alcohol. More alcohol free days than not per week.
Notveryanything · 23/08/2023 08:32

Perfect timing for me this morning. I was mulling over the fact that I am carrying around so much additional weight that I'm effectively carrying my Grandson around with me all day, which I would not want to do, lovely as he is!

It's not just weight though, I'm unhealthy and need to tackle my lifestyle.

My list;

  • do some form of exercise every day - at a minimum walk for 20 mins. (Swimming when possible + video exercises - I need to get into a habit so that I don't forget all the time).
  • drink some water.
  • cut down on carbs & sugar (essential as I have T2 diabetes) This is the hardest one for me. I turn to food when I'm stressed, anxious or unhappy.
  • read books instead of scrolling!
Loopylooni · 23/08/2023 08:34

@Dogsitterwoes I think the princessing term is to do with Kate Middleton getting ready for her wedding.

I'll join as feeling so blah (think it's peri menopausal)

  1. Drink 3L a day
  2. Eat more fruit/veg somehow
  3. Get back to 15K steps when school starts
  4. I hardly ever look in the mirror now so I need to do some self care
devildeepbluesea · 23/08/2023 08:39

I need to lose about 2.5 stone so I’m in.

I already exercise every day and average 20k steps (thanks doggo).

Joined a new gym on Monday so I’m aiming to try all their classes.

Count calories from 1 Sep (I’m on leave til then 🤣)

Daily mini mani at home

Thanks for the face yoga idea, that’s on the list.

And the skin tag removal pen!

Waitingandwaitingg · 23/08/2023 08:51

Love this. I need some support!

Current list:

  1. weight training exercise - happy with 2 or 3 times a week. I used to do 4 and was in the best shape of my life. I now do nothing and have gained so much flab.
  2. get back to my night time skin care routine
  3. get back into reading - even ten pages a week would be achievement
  4. less phone time
  5. continue to cut back on snacking, particularly tv snacking
  6. Moisture my body regularly
  7. remember my daily vitamins
  8. floss more regularly
  9. sleep more
  10. look into pirates or yoga at home workouts

CuteAsDuck · 23/08/2023 09:13

I'm in!

I could do with a complete overhaul. Need to work out a (realistic!) list now.

SlurpSlooChortle · 23/08/2023 09:13

Thanks for the thread OP - I'll join.

My trouble is, I read everyone's ideas and think "oooo I should do that, and that, and that" and make my list so huge that I don't do any of it as it's too time consuming/overwhelming/expensive Confused
