Would anyone like to join in on a 100 day princessing journey?

100 days from today is 1st December so a perfect time to start our princessing journeys. I’m overweight, constantly tired and feel generally rubbish about myself. I want to make this a priority so hopefully posting here will make all of us a little accountable and we can all support each other…

Yeah I need to do this! 100 days til Xmas, fab!

  1. see skincare consultant lady - booked for early sept
  2. do sad restrictive autoimmune diet 😢 starting sept but need to plan
  3. run 2x a week as planned with DH although we’ve failed so far
  4. only 1 takeaway a week (only 😂 we’ve got so bad)
  5. caroline Girvan etc on non-run days, but this can slide if autoimmune can’t hack it
  6. get nails done and regularly
  7. skin tags
  8. get off mumsnet as it’s bad for the brain and I’m sure the blue light is bad for the skin 😄 yet here I am…

That will be enough to be going on with!

mamatoTails · 23/08/2023 16:19

Hello! Yes I want to join!
I also get married mid December, and planned to start my amazing transformation from September 1st but I really need to start now- have to be tomorrow now:

-get back to drinking 2L water daily
-back to walking 10k a day
-morning smoothie
-weights 4/5 times a week
-up skincare routine
-go low carb again, found this helpful before
-don't eat after 8
-maybe put my phone away after 9, and read before getting off to sleep for 10.
-set my alarm for 6am so I can have an hour to get ready and do some housework, make kids lunch before getting them up for school.

100 days, that'll fly!

@BuddhaAtSea

Your post reminded me that one of my main things is to have a really brutal cull of my autumn/winter clothes getting rid of anything with holes in/ misshapen.
Then get on vinted and try to replace any gaps with nice quality but practical clothes.

Ha! I started the culling, it’s all in a bag that I haven’t had the heart to dispose of. It’s got my favourite hoodie in it, belonged to my 6 foot 4 110kg partner, it has bleach stains on one arm. I bloody love that hoodie, but it really does look like shit.

AutumnOcean · 23/08/2023 16:25

I would love to join.

  1. drink 3Ls of water each day
  2. increase my steps
  3. cut down on sweet treats
  4. sort my wardrobe out
  5. keep my eyebrows tidy
  6. read a little each day
  7. lose 3kg
  8. spend time outside in nature each day Good luck!
Tinkletinkletree · 23/08/2023 16:33

Can I join? I'm just about to start a new job and want to start some new routines. I need to lose weight too.

  1. Move everyday - walk, swim, workout.
  2. Up my skincare routine.
  3. Make better food choices.
  4. Do 10 mins of Headspace each day.

LemonDrizzleDessert · 23/08/2023 16:43

Can I join?

BLT24 · 23/08/2023 16:44

I would love to join!

I’m conscious SAD season is around the corner and I’m determined to not get sucked in this year!

My goals are:

  • Hair refresh colour + cut (booked for tomorrow) and then maintain every 5 weeks
  • Brows and nails every 3 weeks
  • Whiten teeth
  • Wardrobe clear out. Sell old/unworn items on Vinted. Buy 3 outfits I love for autumn winter
  • Morning routine - Light first thing (either sit outside or use light box) whilst listening to a podcast or Ted talk + Cold Shower + Skincare + Dressed + Meditation + Breakfast
  • Evening routine - Phone away for evening + Acupressure mat 10 mins + Dinner. Read min 1 hour before sleep by 11pm.
  • Calorie deficit until I’ve lost 1 stone then maintain my weight. Very limited UPFs. 2l water. Supplements with lunch.
  • Yoga or Walk every day
sparklynewprincessname · 23/08/2023 16:51

YES!!! I would love to join in!
This is exactly what I need right now.
I have even created a new user name for the occasion.👸

I would like to get back into some good healthy habits that I've let slide and create some princessy new ones. I'm still on holiday so will continue with the pasta, wine and general laziness until the weekend.
Ideally I need to lose about 8 kilos but 5 would be good.
I need to be more active.
I want to look more polished.
I would like to overhaul my wardrobe.

My plan:

  1. IF and greatly reduce carbs and sugar by planning more nutritious meals. Drink more water and less coffee/wine.
  2. Get back into daily yoga & meditation habit
  3. Do strength/aerobic exercises or walk every day without fail
  4. Skin care: Dry skin brushing and moisturise body; take the time to properly cleanse, apply serum and moisturise morning and night.
  5. Weekly home salon treatments: manicure, pedicure, defuzz, eyebrows.
  6. Start wardrobe overhaul by ruthlessly sorting and throwing out anything that doesn't make me feel amazing, then buying a few quality staples for autumn rather than cheap tat.
PaintMePurple · 23/08/2023 17:15

I need to join! I can start tomorrow.

my goals are

  • drink 2.5 liters of water a day.
  • at least 100 grams of protein a day.
  • start and stick to a morning and evening face routine. I’m always buying new products but never stick to it.
  • floss daily.
  • Read more and spend less time aimlessly scrolling on my phone.
  • 70,000 steps a week. So if I don’t make 10k one day i can make it up the next.
  • stick to 1800-1900 calories a day.
  • stick to TOMM so the house doesn’t get me down as much.
  • moisturise body daily.
  • keep eyebrows tidy.
  • waking up earlier.

Theres loads more I could add, but starting with these things then I’ll hopefully stick to it.

WorldDobbleChampion · 23/08/2023 17:43

I want to join! Need a whole life makeover really! Desperately need support and a kick up the bum. I am tired and look and feel crap.

Changed jobs recently and am a lot less active. I just took the plunge and got on the scale and I have 2 stone to lose :(

I had an accident at the weekend and have some burns to my face that need to heal. I am currently covered in hydrocolloid patches and have had a few people starting which hasn't boosted my confidence.

Going to build up my goals a week at a time, if I do more great and if not then it doesn't mean I am a awful failure.

Goals for week 1

Daily:
2 bottles of water
Vitamins - I am another who leaves them in the cupboard.
Drink tea with a borosilicate straw to prevent staining.
30 minute walk.
Yoga session even if I only squeeze in a short one - need to leave hot yoga for a bit.
Basic skincare routine am and pm.
Use interdental brushes at night
Bed at a reasonable hour with my book.

I have a friend coming for wine tonight but after that a good long booze break. I am drinking far too often and a big break will help.

Plus:
Full body exfoliation session
Do a home manicure

merryhouse · 23/08/2023 17:50

I hesitate to say "I'm in!" because I know I get all enthusiastic for about two days and then give up... but here are my initial thoughts:

(I drink a fair bit of water anyway, and eat lots of fruit and veg, and walk 4 miles every work day. My basic skin care is in place.)

Let bedtime creep a bit earlier. Currently 11pm, maybe start by shutting the laptop at 10:45 tonight. If that works then perhaps move it to 10:30 after 50 days. Perhaps read something if H doesn't come up till nearer 11 (it will depend on his tv watching)

Slightly related (in fact slightly related to most of these): stop reading Tattle. Yes it's entertaining, but it will Never Stop

Make an appointment with the doctor. Need to sort out this toenail infection and get my coil replaced

Get back on the weights. Need to work out a routine so that I can move into it when I get home from work

Even if the weights aren't happening, do the stretching. It's much better than it used to be so maybe if I work on it a bit more I shall look vaguely normal during the class warm-ups

Learn the karate katas. The one I'm supposedly learning now, the ones I've forgotten from a few grades ago, and the other one I need to get my head round. Practise at least one at least once a week outside class (maybe on a Saturday morning when H is on the treadmill and can't see)

Continue to paint toenails so they look nice in karate class and use up some of that ridiculous number of little bottles

Do the crossword every day. It's slipped and I've got loads to catch up on, but I keep not doing today's either. Maybe eventually I'll return to the Comments section

Read proper stuff. Start one of the books on my list. Oh, I still haven't written the review for the last one, must do that. Maybe take a book for lunchtime instead of the crossword book (if I'm going to do a crossword when I come home anyway) but it would have to be a book I can read 20 minutes at a time

Sort out a proper work wardrobe that actually fits (I have just been offered a PERMANENT JOB and might be a little giddy)

Well, that grew. Let's see how we go...

Best of luck, everyone!

merryhouse · 23/08/2023 17:59

@WorldDobbleChampion that accident sounds nasty. Hope you're getting TLC as well as decent medical care.

I like your idea of breaking it down into weeks.

WorldDobbleChampion · 23/08/2023 18:16

Thank you @merryhouse I have had a lot of TLC and am doing well. Definitely was in shock for the first couple of days. Glad I wear glasses though or it could have been far worse. Eaten about 10 tonne of sugar since then which isn't helping the weight.

It has given me a boost to do more self care and mindfulness though.

The hydrocolloid patches work wonders! The worst patches that came out in big blisters are already looking better than the more superficial red burns.

BodegaSushi · 23/08/2023 18:51

Oooh OP please dna you share the skin tag pen you bought please? Mine really don't give off Princess Energy. This in an interesting thread!

Burgerqueenbee · 23/08/2023 20:04

I would like to join in too, I'm also 5 months pp and feeling a bit deflated about everything.

My list of achievable goals are:

1 - I currently only drink Pepsi max/fizzy drinks after 12pm (yes I have a problem) and would like to shift this to 5pm. May have to have a week at 2:30pm to ease in to it.

2 - Do the pelvic floor exercises properly every day, not just randomly when I remember.

3 - Sort my feet out as the dry skin has built up a bit.

4 - Do 20 minutes of exercise a day to ease back into working out while I have limited time.

5 - Get a haircut

The more ambitious items are:

6 - Do fingernails weekly

7 - Cut phone use to 1 hour a day. Quite sad that 1 hour is ambitious, weekends are under 30 minutes but weekdays can be over 3 hours when I'm tired in the evening and just want something mindless to do.

Xeren · 23/08/2023 20:40

I was planning some changes in Sept but can ease myself in now:

  • walk home from office (weather permitting)
  • swimming once a week
  • no processed carbs: Monday - Thursday
  • blow dry hair, face powder and lipstick when I go to work
  • apply hair oil once a week
  • face mask once a week
  • sort out my wardrobe and organise a few outfits for work / going out / nights out
StillOrSparklingMadam · 23/08/2023 20:56

I've given this thread a bit of thought today and realised that I need to take it very gently because, to be frank, menopause symptoms are kicking my arse. (I've got my referral sorted and the specialist appt came through today, so help is on the way but I can't be too ambitious.)

Right now I'm doing well to wash my face every night and put on some makeup most days - I've not been a makeup person for years but it's definitely helping my mood, I've noticed.

I'm also doing my physio exercises regularly.

So the plan for the next few days is just to make sure I don't go backwards with those. I'm keeping on top of the washing/dishes/housework (sort of) so don't want to push myself back into TOMM in case I can't keep it up. But any days I do TOMM are a bonus!

Hopefully the menopause symptoms will ease off again soon (they come and go a bit) and/or I'll have an action plan at my appt in less than a fortnight.

holds on 💪

SushiSuave · 23/08/2023 21:24

I've fallen at the first hurdle guys ☹️.

As per my other thread, I've just found out I've got headline! So can't get my haircut before the start of the new school year and instead need to spend the next 2-3 weeks treating and combing my long, thick hair. I'm really, really gutted. OH thinks I'm being dramatic but I was so looking forward to a new me with my first haircut in a year!

Oh well. Hopefully I get rid of the nits fairly quickly so appointment can be booked. And thank the lord I didn't find out because the hairdresser told me and kicked me out mid-appointment!

StillOrSparklingMadam · 23/08/2023 21:35

@SushiSuave we had lice here a few weeks ago and I feel your pain, I just managed to get the final treatment done the night before my hair appointment. You’re not being dramatic, it’s a bloody nightmare (does your OH have short hair by any chance?)

However, you can still do everything else! (I desperately need to get my legs waxed, perhaps I’ll see if I can get a last-minute appointment on Treatwell tomorrow.)

SushiSuave · 23/08/2023 21:40

@StillOrSparklingMadam Yes OH does have short hair! We did treat his (and I made him do his beard 😂) but he was squeaky clean. I'm going to be super thorough, comb every day/every other day and treat again in 8 days and fingers crossed that will be it. I'll do the same for DS as despite his short hair, he had more than me.

I have succumbed to some chocolate brownie and ice cream tonight to drown my sorrows but will continue with the diet and new clothes next week too.

PollyAmour · 23/08/2023 21:42

Lots of people saying about eyebrow tinting - can this be done at home and what is recommended?

I've just found my discarded FitBit and I'm charging it up ready to do the 100 day challenge - thanks for starting this thread!

It’s easy and makes such a big difference! I mix light brown and dark brown so they are subtle. HiBrow kit is great.

SmallTreeDeepRoots · 23/08/2023 22:24

May I join you? Often see these threads, but chicken out of actually doing anything! My current (low commitment in the hope it will happen) list is:-

  1. Stop the alcohol. Not a big drinker but it messes with my sleep so much. Just need to cut it out completely.
  2. No evening snacking
  3. keep up (recently started) skincare routine. Nothing fancy, just need to be consistent.
  4. Moisturise body daily
  5. try to do something extra every day (hands/nails/mask/footcare). Just something.
  6. Yoga twice a week.

We had headlice here last year- hugs, look after the rest of yourself and you’ll get to the hairdresser soon x
