Haeckels subscription box

No spoilers please, but had anyone had their August box yet? Last month I received it on July 1st but I've not even had a dispatch email yet.

I'm very happy with my box. I'd wanted a Haeckel's hand wash and this is huge.

I got the same as you @Housewife2010

But I can't stand the smell of fennel so the handwash makes me gag. It seriously does. Urgh. A friend came back from the loo in a restaurant after using it to wash his hands and I could smell it across the table (I suppose at least he washed his hands ha ha) and it made me feel queasy.

I do have Haeckels collab espresso handwash still on the go in my kitchen though.

So I got the hand cream, the hair oil, and a massive thing of the bladderwrack pumpkin body lotion. Generally happy about that - had been meaning to stock up on body lotion, and this will last for ages and smells nice. Very pleased not to have another cleanser or foot-toner.

I had cleanser, marine night cream and hand balm. I'd have liked another hand wash for the bottle.

Pelegrims has arrived but not home yet. Are we having a new thread?

I also got the hand balm, cleanser and night cream. I've repurchased both the hand balm and cleanser so very pleased with those. The night cream is HUGE and I use a prescription retinol so I just tried it on my face and neck to test it and it is much stronger than I anticipated.

I got the email today as well. I think it's a good idea to change it to a quarterly box but they haven't grabbed me with the spoilers for the first one. And I don't want to chance that amount of money on something I don't want. I think I'll stick with my Pelegrims box for now.

I’ll be skipping this one - quarterly is much better but I really don’t love the sound of the spoiler and I’m not sure I would find value in the box (even at the subscription price).

Nope. I have zero interest. I’ve lost all confidence in Haeckels after the last box experience. And then the rebrand. And the sneaky price increases.

I don’t think I needed a final nail in the coffin but if I had, the spoiler would be it! My reaction was urgh, even worse than seaweed tea.

I’ll happily stick with Pelegrims who I’m loving so far and seem to have a lot of the qualities I loved about Haeckels in their early days. I guess I’m a good example if you want an early Haeckels fan that they’ve driven away over the last few years.

I've just looked at the rebrand on their website... really not loving it. Also, I hadn't even noticed the price increases... the eco marine duo has gone up by over 30%! I used to really love Haeckels too

@rougechaotic it reflects the size - the pot is much larger now.

I wasn't particularly bothered by the rebrand, and was mainly surprised they hadn't done any research into Haeckels before using the name, but am disappointed that some products I really rates have been discontinued eg the aha toner.

I find all the products I've tried have been fantastic for my skin, so will be pleased to have a way of obtaining them at a reduced price.

Ah okay - that makes sense then! I thought it was the same size! I do love the eco-marine cream so will likely keep buying given the larger size. I think the issue with the subs box for me was that I was in it for the skincare and didn't see the value (for me!) in things like tea, probiotics, and room fragrances. I do love their candles though!

I'll see what the first few boxes are like and then make a decision, but based on the spoiler for the first box I'm going to guess that it's not for me!

hmmmm not sure about the larger size – I just checked and the pots I bought previously are 100ml and it looks like they are still 100ml on the new website. I paid £98 for the two (regular and night) and it's now £130 (reduced to £120) for the two

I wouldn’t assume all price increases are size related. That’s certainly not the case for the facial cleanser. I’ve been using the Haeckels facial cleanser for quite a few years and the price has increased by almost 50% in that time but the size has remained 100ml throughout. It’s no longer competitive and I am switching to the Pelgrims one as soon as my current bottle runs out.

Not sure about the sizing then as all the marine creams I've bought have been 60ml they sent an email at some point about the size increasing, but I'm not sure if the price increased disproportionately. It wouldn't surprise me as most of the brands I use have increased their price over the last few years.

I was worried about FOMO but the price is quite high; I'd expect it to have a retail of £200, and I don't need that amount of 'stuff'.

I'm enjoying Pelegrims.

If anyone is interested I put my out of date next month (!!!) seaweed tea on Vinted and just want it gone so happy to take an offer much less than the £5 I’m asking! Oh and the incense but I am sure no-one here wants that 🤣
I have enjoyed a lot of, but not all of my ‘formerly know as Haeckels‘ stuff. So I went back to the Liberty Beauty drop as Ido
love most things fro there. Will check out Pelegrim’s but I’m trying to clear out and not hoard any more toiletries!!
