Haeckels subscription box

No spoilers please, but had anyone had their August box yet? Last month I received it on July 1st but I've not even had a dispatch email yet.

I don't care. It's lovely and I've just run out of the old one.

Delighted with this box again. I actually have a back up of the repeat, but am glad to have another to store.

The online info does say this is the new formulation - maybe using up old packaging?

I've been using the marine cleaner and toner for 2-3 weeks and I'm not very impressed. I really liked the spiraglow cleanser but the marine is a bit meh. My skin feels a bit dry and the pores on my nose look bigger.

I'm quite disappointed as I'd had a run of really good products from Haeckels, Liberty BD and my No7 advent calendar. The only other cleanser I have is the M&G sample from the last but one BD. I might need to buy some!

@Cyclingmummy1 That's interesting! I've been using the marine cleanser for years and really love it (I switched from my trusty Dermalogica). But I have sensitive but oily skin so maybe that's why it suits me? I don't use the Haeckels toner though. I use Superdrug Naturally Radiant Glycolic toner (which is incredible - it makes a visible difference and is better for me than toners which cost 5x as much!). Followed by Haeckels marine day cream - and currently Haeckels eye cream (but I will be switching back to my usual Armani eye cream when the Haeckels one runs out).

@Cyclingmummy1 I love the marine cleanser and found the spiraglow meh. I think it's in part because I can't get enough of the smell of the marine.

By toner do you mean the hydrating one?

I loved the Dermalogica sample we got in a BD @HundredMilesAnHour I use the orange No7 toner, cheap and works really well.

It's the AHA toner @Lotsofpots I liked the sample we got that was more rose scented. Was that the spiraglow?

I hated the AHA toner to start with as the smell is so repellent - like feet. But when I used it at night followed by the reef oil, my skin was baby soft the next morning so I've stuck with it and will probably repurchase now.

Maybe I'll try it at night instead. I like the reef oil.

Yes I like the reef oil a lot too. I slather it on at night 😀

Wondering if I could add some eg rose oil to the AHA toner to sweeten it up, or whether that will just make it smell like feet with roses.

I don't think it suits my skin 😓but that's the advantage of a subs box, you get to try things at a reduced price.

I don't know what to expect this month @SmithfamilyRobinson I'd like body lotion or a soap bar too. I think it could be eye cream though which is something I don't really bother with.

I only use the AHA once a week, so just hold my nose for it. But the smell is vile, I wish they'd do something to neutralise it a bit.

This month I'd love to see a perfume in the box, or the eye cream.

Haeckels seem to have abandoned Discord but someone has posted the link to what's in this next box. I will say no more. Except as usual I don't have any despatch notification.

Exciting! I decided not to do it any more as have been spending way too much and already have (am hoarding!) a lot of products I need to use.

However I’ve seen what’s in it and it looks fab!

I have to be strong and not look.

Did you notice that last week's email didn't have a discord link @HundredMilesAnHour ? Their comms are so inconsistent.

I just looked and both items meh for me. I actually cancelled subsequent boxes which will mean that coming next will be things I want!

@Cyclingmummy1 ooh I didn't notice the lack of Discord link. That explains it. They've abandoned it. Might be useful if they actually posted that on Discord though. 😂

I agree that their comms are awful. They behave like a small start-up but they're way past that stage and should be communicating effectively. Less beautiful newsletters and emails selling products and more actual responses to customers perhaps (if they're so short of staff to do comms). I like most of their products but at times their behaviour is woeful. They're very faddy.

They also have a bad habit of creating products, supposedly for life, and then dropping them completely after people have shelled out. Such as the deodorant case and refills, or the shower gel that was a ceramic container and came with a year's worth of shower gel tablets (that you mix with water) and you were promised a second year free.....which evaporated.

Mine's just arrived - extremely happy, looking forward to discussing in due course.

I'm one of the first to get the box this month - which makes a change. Same as PP I'm happy with it - one item I really wanted and the other is nice to try.

I'd like body moisturiser.

I've just cancelled mine as it doesn't bring me joy anymore and I end up donating or regifting to my mum.

Had a look at the spoiler and we've had one (variant) of one of the products before. I wasn't happy with it then. And what happened to the samples we had previously?

Another box without a sample @Babysharkdoodoodood ? That's 3-4 months without them so they must have made a decision to stop samples but haven't communicated it.
