Haeckels subscription box

No spoilers please, but had anyone had their August box yet? Last month I received it on July 1st but I've not even had a dispatch email yet.

I think I might be the only person here who signed up for it, so for anyone interested the first new subscription box arrived today.

Ooh, what's it like?

I was really surprised by it. Spoiler below

Spiraglow hydrating toner, spiraglow serum. Neither that surprising seeing as they trailed it would focus on spiraglow I think. Useful as I was about to order a new hydrating serum from them, so this will take its place.

Then it has a large, beautiful green glass vase-like item, a beautiful dark wood spoon, a cloth, and then the grains you need to make your own kefir using it all with instructions plus some recipes (including with the seaweed tea that was included..). I would never drink, let alone make, kefir, but was surprised by how engaging it is when you have such attractive items to use. I'll report back!

Mine is definitely bigger than a wine bottle. Pic with the squash bottle is for size.

It must be a 1.5 litre bottle size. I got ride of mine but it had text underneath the bottle saying something about wine

How is the kefir?

It does look exactly like part of a wine bottle. I guess that makes sense with the Haeckels ethos.

As the weather has brightened up a bit, I've cracked open the SPF we got last year. Put it on after moisturiser and before foundation; it's brilliant as a primer!

Should mention that the shelf life (look on back) was only 6 months AND when I used it in Italy I became very attractive to wasps!

And? You can't say that and not tell us what's in it.

Ha. Two new products are included. List below with immediate thoughts:

AHA moisturiser. I really loved their liquid exfoliant that seems to have been discontinued so I’ll be interested in trying it. But i don’t know where I’ll use it in my routine as I have a moisturiser I like

A reusable exfoliating cloth. This looks mad - will put a pic up later. I’m intrigued.

their cleanser. I love this so v pleased

a mini loofah, and a seed and pot to grow your own loofah. Random but if I can grow my own loofah I’ll be utterly delighted with myself

magnesium supplements for sleep. I use magnesium cream and find it v effective so pleased with this.

That sounds like a great selection.

So it’s basically a small grid with beads woven in. It’s quite odd to use. It feels like it looks. Not unpleasant, just - weird. Details about it, and the aha cream included in photos.

(It’s definitely an improvement on the kefir kit, which had beautiful implements but my kefir making was not a success)
