So I bought a new dress yesterday and have been stopped at work and in shops to ask where I got it, its really flattering and a lovely colour so if anyone is looking for a new dress I'd highly recommend this one 😃Floral Square Neck Midi Smock Dress

Floral Square Neck Midi Smock Dress

With its striking floral print, this dress offers a stylish choice for daywear. It's cut in a comfy regular fit, with a flattering square neckline and short sleeves to make it ideal for warmer weather. All-over smocking gives a figure-hugging shape thr...

It's not my style but I think it looks lovely on you! I think the colours look better in your pic than on the site.

I'm the same, big boobs but small waist, legs, hips. The cut of a lot of dresses makes me look bigger than I am. However I don't find the smocking great across the boobs, makes them look like a big matronly shelf. I'd love suggestions for other styles, not too cleavagey though as don't like that either.

I've got some from Fat Face that have the shearing in panels, one has it at the sides, and a couple in the back panel, but the fronts are then just normal structured and shaped dresses. Win/win ,😁

Childhoodnostalgia · 23/06/2023 15:51

Thats all I see when I go out… women in big floaty, flowery dresses…

CarterBeatsTheDevil · 23/06/2023 16:02

The lead photo isn't great - it's very pretty from the front. Good call, OP!

SpringGreensPreens · 23/06/2023 16:11

It must really suit you so to be getting all the compliments and comments- how lovely 😊

Fraida · 23/06/2023 16:33

@KnittedCardi I have never worn anything with shirring before but I am now a convert... seems to flatter my Ds

I don't wear a bra with it, but I am happy to try and report back later.

Bodycon dresses haven’t been a trend in the last 10 years.

They absolutely are- every website Ive been on has loads of them- not everyone likes floaty dresses, many of us like figure hugging ones

I love bodycon dresses but sadly would look like an overstuffed sausage in one... I envy those who can wear these!

Aw- you look lovely in that dress! Yes, I am glad there are a variety of styles now for hourglass, tall, plus size, petite, etc its about time they catered for different body shapes

Lentilweaver · 23/06/2023 16:51

I have ordered the raspberry one on M and S to see if it suits me ( probably not).

SparkyBlue · 23/06/2023 16:57

NancyAndLee · 23/06/2023 09:04

I like it! But like all midi / maxi dresses it would look hideous on me (short arse).

Honest to god I'm 4"11 and M&S have been amazing this year with proper petite midi dresses that actually look great on.

OP nothing better than finding something that looks good on you and makes you feel great. Some of the comments on here are weird. No item of clothing will be to everyone's taste or indeed will suit everyone but no need to be rude about it.

Archeron · 23/06/2023 17:03

The manufacture of viscose is so unbelievably toxic that it isn’t produced in UK or USA because it would be impossible to comply with safety requirements. So it’s a no from me.

LlynTegid · 23/06/2023 17:34

Not surprised at the response you have had OP.

IDontWantToBeAPie · 23/06/2023 17:41

Reminds me of something from Pink Lemons. I do really like it! Great colours

Just tried with a bra and yes, they do show a bit. Strapless bra would be better or transparent straps

PineappleHair · 23/06/2023 17:52

Men would have a field day staring and shouting at my boobs in a dress like that. Shirring on the boobs emphasizes them and I already get lots of harassment and lewd comments for being genetically 'blessed'.

AzureBlue99 · 23/06/2023 17:56

Trouble with a very recognisable print in M & S, you start to see it everywhere. The colours are nice, the dress shape a bit overdone now.

Fraida · 23/06/2023 10:22

@ChiefWiggumsBoy that dress is lovely but does the tie work on the bigger of boob? I love the colour and the fact it has pockets.

I'm a 36HH if that helps! Grin

blueshoes · 23/06/2023 19:36

It looks nice but I don't like to wear shirring (hot and uncomfortable) and don't like tiers on dresses (shortie). This season's trend is not for me.

It must look great on you.

Is that better or worse then Sainsbury's TU asking for a friend? Grin

JimnJoyce · 23/06/2023 20:17

@ChiefWiggumsBoy do you know what material the green dress is please? I cant see it anywhere on the web site. And whats it like in the heat?

YoucancallmeKAREN · 23/06/2023 20:25

I love this dress and every time i go into M&S i have to go and have a look at it but at 5ft not a lot it would trail on the floor if i wore it. Bet you feel a million dollars in it, enjoy all the compliments.

porridgeisbae · 23/06/2023 21:42

Maybe post us a (headless if you want) pic OP. I don't think it's flattering on the model.
