I have wasted so much money on "comfortable" sandals

Over the years. I end up with sandals that are neither pretty/stylish nor properly comfortable by trying to get something that fit both bills.

But these are OK? I think?

The Seasalt ones have no arch support. How can they be comfy? They look flimsy

i don't have very high arches so sometimes find those with 'arch support' hard and uncomfortable, Birkenstocks are awful for me.

I like the seasalt sandals because they are like barefoot shoes, very flexible sole and very soft leather especially the strappier ones , it's like having nothing on your feet except a soft cushion.

I do like chunkier sandals but I have long narrow feet , skinny ankles and I'm already 5'9 so I don't need the extra height and they can sometimes look odd on me.

How old are you? Over 80 and you'll get away with them.
I find Birkenstocks or Teva comfortable.

I like saltwaters

Last year I bought some from new look, lovely wide fit and very comfortable- I don't think they've brought the same style out again this year sadly, I'd love another pair

I used to wear Birkenstocks... until I discovered the leather Teva flatform and midform sandals, just amazing and a bit more 'youthful':

Actually I'm
Not 100% sure whose teva link I used.
It took me to a Teva uk website.
Just be careful 😄

@Ilovealido

I just bought a pair of the soft sole Saltwaters and find them very supportive and comfortable.

I wore them on a 4 hour walk on the first day and my feet felt fine the next day.

antieverythingteenager · 15/05/2023 10:20

I have difficult feet and often resort to hideous sandals just for comfort but I like to think that with bright red toenails you can get away with anything Smile

LaDamaDeElche · 15/05/2023 10:37

Can you get gioseppo in the U.K.? These are my go to brand for comfy sandals. They are really well-priced too. I have bunions and can always find comfy ones in their range. The sandals you posted look nice too.

I know crocs are hated haha but I live in these, they don't look like crocs, they go with everything and I can walk for hours in them I've had them 3 years and they look brand new, my last pair were bright coloured strappy ones and I only threw them out because the colours started to fade but they were still in perfect condition.

Only thing I would say is they are small made, so you need to go a half size or full size up.

ErinAoife · 15/05/2023 10:55

Hush puppies sandals are the most comfortable sandals I have wither own.

SimonsCow · 15/05/2023 10:58

Tevas, Birkenstocks and crocs are ‘in’ and all supposed to be comfy.

seasalt sandals are supposed to be worn in water, mould to your foot and are super comfortable.

lifeturnsonadime · 15/05/2023 11:11

I like the look of the Teva but can struggle with ankle straps, are they suitable for a slightly wider fitting does anyone know?

It does say adjustable but a lot of money if they won't fit!

Grimbelina · 15/05/2023 11:45

I have wide feet and Teva are fine. The beauty of the straps is that they are so adjustable. My feet swelled in the heat once and they were easy to adjust. Lots of pairs on eBay too if you want to spend less money. Sizing is pretty accurate in my experience. I am generally a 5.5-6 and a 38 in Birkenstock and a 39 in Teva.

Grimbelina · 15/05/2023 11:45

SimonsCow I didn't find Seasalts/Saltwater at all comfortable, too flat for me!

Lovemebetter · 15/05/2023 12:21

I find Toms sandals really comfortable. I just wore a pair to a podiatry appointment with my dc and the podiatrist recommended them and said they were a good example of shoes they would recommend.

Advicerequest · 15/05/2023 12:29

Saltwater
always complemented
neber have to take them off - even swimming in the sea!

HolidayHappy123 · 15/05/2023 13:18

Russell & Bromley flatform range are both comfy and stylish but a different price point.

They have a number of different styles but I like these the best: https://www.russellandbromley.co.uk/palm-beach/241881
