A sad start to a new thread, but I hope we can celebrate the legacy of Elizabeth Regina, what a woman, and what style!

Thanks! Can we discuss the funeral outfits today?

Pleased do! I've just got in from work and haven't seen anything so far!

Hello everyone.

Beautiful procession today.

KillingMeDeftly · 14/09/2022 16:40

I am on holiday so missed the procession. Still, I can't complain!

susiebluebell · 14/09/2022 16:43

A few photos from today. Quite difficult to find anything to say about the outfits - as well as being moved by the solemnity of the occasion, black is also a bit tricky to see in photos!

Everyone looking pretty great though, in my opinion. The women's outfits might have been co-ordinated a bit?

Everyone looks very dignified. Lots of nice hats / hatbands. Kate maybe went an bit heavy on the blusher.

QueryA · 14/09/2022 16:48

Everyone looking very smart and appropriate today. I liked Kate's brooch. Some more info on it here.

Thanks, I was just wondering about the brooch.

Thank you @Maireas for the new thread. Flowers
Camilla's brooch was a gift from her father apparently. It's very long in length for a brooch - unusual, but not to my taste.
Kate's brooch is BIG.
I wasn't keen on Sophie's dress - there was too much going on. I prefer a simpler, pared back style.

Spudlet · 14/09/2022 17:05

Kate looks really tired (unsurprisingly!) so maybe that’s why she’d slapped the blusher on a bit hard, if she was feeling a bit washed out.

TracyBeakerSoYeah · 14/09/2022 17:07

Thanks for the new thread& the title is fittingly perfect @Maireas

It's very long in length for a brooch - unusual, but not to my taste.

I'm sure it looks nice close up, but on some pictures it did look a bit like she was taking a stick insect out for the day.

KillingMeDeftly · 14/09/2022 17:34

No Zara, Beatrice or Eugenie in that lineup?

Eaumyword · 14/09/2022 17:42

Hello all!
I think everyone looked very appropriate today.
I particularly liked Camilla's lovely hat and Kate always looks fabulous and elegant wearing a veil. I love her brooch.

NiqueNique · 14/09/2022 17:42

Zara, Beatrice and Eugenie were to the side of the hall, with the rest of the Royal Family.

YourLipsMyLipsApocalypse · 14/09/2022 17:43

Meghan's hat is lovely. She is very beautiful isn't she!

NiqueNique · 14/09/2022 17:43

Along with Louise and James. And many others.

chesterelly1 · 14/09/2022 17:44

Thanks for the new thread @Maireas. I think I was dreaming black outfits last night unless one of you can confirm Camilla had a very boxy black cape on and another lady, not sure who had a black shift with a visible silver zip at the back.

Maireas · 14/09/2022 17:46

Yes, I noticed Camilla's dress yesterday with the cape detail, I thought it looked very chic.
I hope she's got comfy shoes on today.

Yes, thank you very much for the thread @Maireas. A fitting title for a lovely lady. A monarch, but also just an ordinary woman like you or I whose family meant the world to her and all of whom are suffering now.

NiqueNique · 14/09/2022 17:50

@Maireas i think she did have good shoes on - they looked suitably chunky to afford some support and be comfortable enough to wear for some time (although I didn’t look all that closely).

I also thought the Queen Consort’s brooch looked like a stick insect! It’s definitely a striking piece.
