A sad start to a new thread, but I hope we can celebrate the legacy of Elizabeth Regina, what a woman, and what style!

Meghan’s curtsy looked very elegant.

The other women’s too of course (but they have had many more years to practice!).

lollipoprainbow · 14/09/2022 17:55

I was hoping they might wear the beautiful black veils that the Queen, her mother and sister wore to the funeral of her father. They looked so elegant and dramatic.

NiqueNique · 14/09/2022 17:57

They might wear veils to the funeral itself.

PolkadotsAndMoonbeams · 14/09/2022 18:01

My favourite curtsy (if you can have such a thing) was Eugenie's at her wedding.

justasking111 · 14/09/2022 18:06

Outstanding procession the service was very moving

NiqueNique · 14/09/2022 18:15

Yes it was moving, and meaningful.

And the procession! Everything was done impeccably. How proud every individual must be to have been involved. Particularly the pallbearers. What a weight of responsibility.

I’ve just seen a photo of Louise’s curtsy; it was very lovely too.

SnottyLottie · 14/09/2022 18:36

I think both Catherine and Meghan went a bit OTT with the blush. But Catherine looked very pale, tired and stressed so it looked a bit worse on her, whereas Meghan looked positively glowing, healthy and radiant.

frugalkitty · 14/09/2022 18:46

Watching the news makes me want to go up to London, but I really can't face the queuing. It's an incredible sight and the crown is simply stunning......I'm sure we'd all wear it and carry it with panache so perhaps when no-ones looking we could swipe it and start ourselves a sharing jewellery stash.

lollipoprainbow · 14/09/2022 18:51

So moving watching people of all walks of life walking past showing their respects. I'm quite envious of those queuing.

paradyning · 14/09/2022 18:55

Bea looked beautiful with her hair down and a Boleyn hairband

RomainingCalm · 14/09/2022 19:18

Thank you for the new thread @Maireas - perfect title. 💐

All of the Royals looked so dignified today, I don't know how some of them can still manage to put one foot in front of the other after the last few days. I loved Kate's brooch and glad I'm not the only one concerned for Camilla's poor feet!

Gooseysgirl · 14/09/2022 19:18

Absolutely LOVE Zara's look today - I wish she would wear this shape more often it really suits her! I think I recognise MM's coat - possibly a rewear or is it a black version of the coat she wore to Eugenie's wedding? I don't like Sophie's dress at all. Camilla looked fab, love her brooch. KM predictable long coat, not keen on her choice of brooch with the coat - it doesn't quite work. The ceremony was very moving and the procession was perfection. I did get a bit nervous when the bearers were lifting up the coffin... I was worried the crown would fall 😬 but I'm sure they have practised it a gazillion times! They were brilliant.

Thanks for the new thread Maireas.

I've been in work meetings all day and just on my way home on the train, so a good time to catch up on photos from today.

Maireas · 14/09/2022 19:23

@Gooseysgirl - now you've got me thinking...I was wondering if Meghan was pregnant when I saw her doing the walkabout...now you're saying she's wearing the same style coat she wore to Eugenie's wedding? Mmm....

Totally agree about Zara - that cut and shape look great on her.

Maireas · 14/09/2022 19:24

I like Zara's dress. The shape really suits her.

Zara's dress was my favourite - lovely.

Spudlet · 14/09/2022 19:32

Zara’s dress is lovely and a great shape on her. Just having something a little more open at the neck works really well, she looks really trussed up sometimes, but that is very elegant.

Kate and Camilla have similar peplum-y pocket flap thingies going on - wonder if that was a coincidence or a bit of ‘here’s the next Queen Consort’ matchy-matchyness (probably coincidence!).

Sophie’s dress was very Victorian, but not in a good way 😬

Meghan’s coat deffo looks familiar but I don’t know when from.

justasking111 · 14/09/2022 19:33

Poor Charles was swaying at one point the BBC camera panned away fast as he went backwards. I'm glad William was behind him. They all look exhausted. Zara looked good in that style very fifties always a good choice.

SheldonesqueTheBstard · 14/09/2022 19:34

Zara looked amazing. As did Camilla.

I wasn’t too keen on the fussy detailing on Sophie’s coat - she do very rarely gets it wrong.

The poor lass looks absolutely bereft though so I don’t wish to be harsh.

SheldonesqueTheBstard · 14/09/2022 19:34

so

Spudlet · 14/09/2022 19:35

They all do, bless them. They must be knackered and so stressed out -
being bereaved is bad enough, let alone having to get dressed up and be on show to the world for days and days. I know they have a lot of privilege and all that, but at times like this it really is a shit deal for them.

I agree. Both of them had rather heavy makeup on today, but I think Meghan has a face that can take it whereas Kate can’t really.

Thanks! Can we discuss the funeral outfits today?

It's not the funeral until Monday

Maireas · 14/09/2022 19:41

Waves to Sheldon! Glad you've joined us on here!
I agree with you about Sophie's outfit, she rarely gets it wrong, but it is a bit fussy. Nice to see all the cousins as well.
