Anyone fancy a good old-fashioned 100 day princessing thread??

i haven’t seen one of these in a while and I need it!!!

I’ve been a bit of a mess since lockdown. Overweight, drinking too much, house a bit of a mess, sleep patterns gone out the window, not much exercise (I do walk the dog but he’s older so it’s more of a gentle stroll).

I want to feel like me again and I like a deadline.

In 103 days it’s 28th November, which is pretty much the start of Christmas. We also have a Center Parcs holiday booked.
Now if you’re Irish (like me), Christmas starts on 25th November (The Late Late Toy Show) so it’s actually 100 days today!

In the past, people would come up with a list of 10? things they want to focus on over the 100 days. I think In the early challenges there used to be 1 list but later ones were more individual with everyone having their own list.

My basics are

  1. 7.5 hours sleep a night (I never seem to get to 8)
  2. 2L water a day
  3. 16:8 fasting
  4. Shower, teeth & wash face daily.
  5. Start back with TOMM cleaning schedule
  6. use Lumea hair removal weekly
  7. deep clean every room
  8. figure out how to deal with my wavy hair
  9. get my eyebrows done
  10. exercise, even just for 10 minutes, everyday.
I might tweak some of these but it’s a starting point.

so anyone else in??

I would love to join!
Problem is I'm great at the first few days and joining threads with enthusiasm but then completely forgetting and falling off the wagon.
Ideally I have a few things I'd like to work on:
• lose some weight
• use foot cream everyday and sort out the hard skin on my feet
• make sure I do my skincare twice a day
• use the lumea machine I bought about six months ago Blush
• establish a cleaning routine again
• do some exercise every day
• wake up on time every day and not fall back to sleep again
• learn how to style my hair
• paint my nails once a week
• cook healthy food rather than relying on ready meals

Me too with the joining and then not going back!! I’m hoping if it’s my thread I might feel some responsibility to keep it going!!

The foot care is a good one! Might add that to my list.

the Lumea is brilliant - I love mine (just need to remember to do it)

Im telling myself that this time will stick!

Do you mind if I ask how long it takes you to use your lumea? I think I've been procrastinating because it feels like it would take ages

To be honest it takes a while. When I started using it I just did my lower legs and it took about 15 mins a leg I think. Now I tend to do one full leg at a time and its a full change. So I do one leg per week. It’s totally worth it though.

Would love to join! Just found out yday I have high blood pressure so would love to try to do something to help with that as well as my general appearance! So I'm thinking of
10,000 steps a day
Cook from scratch at least one meal a day
No takeaways!
Tackle hair eyebrows feet with a pamper session every fortnight
Bed by 10

I'm sure more will come to me but I think these are achievable short term but will need support for more long term!

CriminallyCharmed · 17/08/2022 14:19

Thank you @Communionmom.

I should definitely finally get it out and use it, it should be worth it to have smooth legs even if it takes forever!

PositivePenny · 17/08/2022 14:26

I need to join! I’ll think of 10 things I can realistically aim for and post later.

Thefailinghousewife · 17/08/2022 17:15

Oooh I was actually googling old princessing threads for inspo when I found this, it was meant to be!

im going to write a list later and come back. In mean time though, I also love my lumea to the poster wondering whether to get one!

psuedocream3 · 17/08/2022 17:22

I'm still princessing away from the original thread at the beginning of the year but it is very quiet over there now.

I gave up alcohol and haven't missed it. I started tretinoin and my skin is really good now. I joined a facebook group to get tips for makeup and have mastered my eye makeup technique and can now apply false lashes. I also learned how to do a shadow root and have balayaged my hair, and concentrating on letting it grow out instead of bleaching it for now, just TLC to get it in optimal condition.

  1. Try coloured eyeshadow and have some signature looks
  2. Learned I'm Kibbe Dramatic body type - sort my clothes to fit my type
  3. Focus on accessorising (jewellery/bgs/outfit acessories etc)
  4. Water, much more water
  5. Some sort of exercise
  6. Set an alarm to get up early
  7. Start eating healthy
  8. Cut out drinking tea
  9. Paint nails weekly
  10. TOMM cleaning
Good luck everyone, we can do this!
Communionmom · 17/08/2022 18:55

Welcome everyone!!

Obviously people can start whenever they want but my official start will be Saturday but I'm easing myself in gently by a few shorter fasts and drinking a bit more water (it's easy to drink more than none!) and not drinking.

LBB2020 · 17/08/2022 19:25

I’ll join too! Will come back with my list later

70isaLimitNotaTarget · 17/08/2022 20:54

Ooh yes , signing in:

From my last list I had "grow hair" "grow out dye" "lose weight"

My hair is past shoulder length with no dye , I do need to get it cut , when it gts too long it pulls on my scalp
I stopped eating chocolate in early May , not sure if this is going to be a forever , I might have some at Christmas....

I got a new wardrobe so my clothes are better organised , I had a ruthless clearout and I wear more of them. I've been wearing dresses rather than leggings and a top .

Bought a sonic toothbrush which is so good

I do drink loads of water anyway (I don't drink alcohol) I should cut down on coffee but Nah Grin

Massive clear out in process of household things , not a Princessing Plus but it will make me pyschologically better as frees up space and loss of clutter .

My To Do List

Need to wax my 'pits and epilate my legs
Step up with hair mask treatments before winter .
Use my nice showergel (Molton Brown) rather than save it
Wear make-up , just a bit on my eyes will do
Wear my scarves to brighten up a boring top or jumper (yes , indoor scarves )
Make more soups with random veg , but it doesn't mean I need a soup maker . I made Butternut squash, carrot, potato, onion soup yesterday , lush it was

1982mommaof4 · 17/08/2022 21:00

Gazelda · 17/08/2022 21:13

I'd like to join, please.
I'm away in hols at mo, so don't commit to starting until 1 sept.

  • Bed by 11 and up by 7 midweek, 8 weekend.
  • Drink more water.
  • no more than 3 coffee a day
  • 5000 steps (realistic, rather than 10k)

  • 1 new healthy recipe per month.
  • no new clothing/accessories purchase until Christmas.
Mademoiselle14 · 17/08/2022 21:23

Ooh I’d love to join please!

mine would be:

~ stick to weight watchers (I’ve lost a stone in the past month but have several more to go so would love to keep the momentum up!)
~ drink 2l of water a day
~ learn to use my new dyson air wrap
~ shave legs regularly
~ at home pedicure
~ moisturise body every day after shower
~ weekly face and hair masks
~ put my phone away and stop overriding my time limits on social media

i also need to do a big wardrobe sort out, there’s so much I don’t wear and I don’t ever feel like I’m dressed appropriately for the seniority of my job (maternity leave and lockdowns!) I don’t want to buy loads as I’m losing weight but need a few key pieces and maybe some great accessories.

jaffacakes16 · 17/08/2022 21:29

I’m going to join another of these and try to keep it up this time!

  1. 16:8
  2. daily moisturiser
  3. Cuticles
  4. exercise daily
  5. retinol
  6. wear semi presentable clothes
Hippywannabe · 17/08/2022 21:30

Posting so that I may actually do it! 65 days to my holiday!

BuwchGochGota · 17/08/2022 21:36

I'm in. I always seem to do better at new habits in September than in January, I think it's the Back to School thing.

My list:

  1. Swim 3 times a week

  2. Yoga class once a week

  3. Cleanse and moisturise twice a day even when I'm tired

  4. Stop eating biscuits just because it's 3pm and I'm bored/tired

  5. Dress nicely for work - get out of the lockdown slob habit

  6. Eat at least 5 portions of fruit and veg a day

  7. Drink 1.5 litres of water a day

  8. Hair cut every 6 weeks

  9. Shape & dye eyebrows every 4 weeks

  10. Handcream every night before bed

mamaison · 17/08/2022 21:41

I love this idea!

Yes to the more sleep and exercise daily.

Want to cut back on coffee and start tracking macros too.

Agree I need to actually use my Lumea.

Face masks and making time to use all the products I buy.

Make this happen by not wasting time on meaningless scrolling.

Stonebridge · 17/08/2022 21:55

Hi everyone, I’m nodding along to all of these. So interesting to see the repeating patterns in what people are listing. Here’s mine
1 Get laser hair removal
2 Eat fruit every day
3 Drink more water
4 Get my hair cut
5 Get out for a walk after work instead of crashing
6 Try a new dinner recipe
7 Try a new baking recipe

toomuchlikemyusername · 17/08/2022 23:13

Hello

Yes I'll join in with this. I do really need it, as I'm feeling old, frazzled and unkempt right now. I'll have a proper read tomorrow and post my list....

Starship951 · 17/08/2022 23:15

Hmmmm. I'm sitting here thinking I really want to join and do 100 days sugar-free, daily exercise and 2 litre of water a day.
I'll come back tomorrow to commit.

CountryCob · 18/08/2022 00:25

I’m in but can’t make promises on tea/coffee.

rongon · 18/08/2022 07:14

I'm in, really need to look after myself, I'm not getting any younger.

-moisturise body and feet daily.
-dry brush body daily.
-blow dry hair after washing.
-10 minutes stretching/exercise per day
-drink more water
-take daily vitamins/supplements
-get 30 mins of housework done before leaving for work each morning (instead of wasting time on my phone)

I'm off to visit family at the weekend for a week, so not starting the housework or exercise until I get back (though should be doing lots of walking). Everything else I'm starting today.
