Anyone fancy a good old-fashioned 100 day princessing thread??

i haven’t seen one of these in a while and I need it!!!

I’ve been a bit of a mess since lockdown. Overweight, drinking too much, house a bit of a mess, sleep patterns gone out the window, not much exercise (I do walk the dog but he’s older so it’s more of a gentle stroll).

I want to feel like me again and I like a deadline.

In 103 days it’s 28th November, which is pretty much the start of Christmas. We also have a Center Parcs holiday booked.
Now if you’re Irish (like me), Christmas starts on 25th November (The Late Late Toy Show) so it’s actually 100 days today!

In the past, people would come up with a list of 10? things they want to focus on over the 100 days. I think In the early challenges there used to be 1 list but later ones were more individual with everyone having their own list.

My basics are

  1. 7.5 hours sleep a night (I never seem to get to 8)
  2. 2L water a day
  3. 16:8 fasting
  4. Shower, teeth & wash face daily.
  5. Start back with TOMM cleaning schedule
  6. use Lumea hair removal weekly
  7. deep clean every room
  8. figure out how to deal with my wavy hair
  9. get my eyebrows done
  10. exercise, even just for 10 minutes, everyday.
I might tweak some of these but it’s a starting point.

so anyone else in??

Ok so here’s my list:

  1. Finish C25K/exercise daily (even if only 10 mins)

  2. Take daily multi vitamin and iron

  3. Drink at least 1.5ltr of water per day

  4. Eat more fruit and veg

  5. 16:8 to help stop evening snacking

  6. Weekly “pamper session” (hair mask, face mask, body/foot scrub etc)

  7. Cut down screen time

  8. Clear out wardrobe and start making more effort each day rather than wearing the same outfits on repeat (that are comfy but old, tatty and unflattering!)

  9. Have a sort out of makeup and beauty products and start using them

  10. Get to bed earlier

LoveKingGary · 18/08/2022 08:05

I'm in.

  • exercise 4 times per week
  • use lumea
  • cleanse, tone, moisturise each night
  • use teeth whitening kit
  • work through to-do list with the house
Moonflower12 · 18/08/2022 08:26

@Communionmom

Ummmm! 28th November is not the start of Christmas! It's my birthday.
The 29th is the start of Christmas.

I’d like to do this. I’m having chemotherapy at the moment (breast cancer) and have more treatments to follow so won’t be able to do religiously but it would be good to do when I can/aim for for when I’m finished.

I did Weight Watchers at the beginning of the year and lost over a stone but sadly the chemo has meant I’ve put a lot of weight back on so I really want to tackle that first.

My list:

  1. Join Weight Watchers again and get back to target weight
  2. Drink 2L + water daily
  3. 10,000 + steps daily
  4. Aerobic exercise 30 minutes 3x a week
  5. Limit alcohol to 5 units/week
  6. I don’t know about TOMM cleaning but sounds good so will investigate and aim to follow
  7. Declutter wardrobe
  8. Wear makeup daily
  9. Organise photos
  10. Make time to relax/meditate weekly
vjg13 · 18/08/2022 09:23

Me too! I'm in!

10,000 + steps
C25K restart
More walking
Wear more make up
New epilator and use it
More hand cream, better nail care
Reduce snacking
Meditate daily
Bed before 11 5/7

lisam78 · 18/08/2022 09:31

I really need this. I lost a lot of weight during lockdown one, then put all of it back on during lockdown two- old habits crept in, and I stopped exercising, and I feel so annoyed now that I let it happen. So, my list will be:

  1. Exercise 3x per week
  2. Try to do some meditation/mindfulness (I feel like I am rubbish at it when I try. Can't stop my mind wandering!)
  3. Stop snacking- especially at work!
  4. Keep on top of grooming (hair/nails/brows)
  5. Drink more water daily
  6. Stop wasting time scrolling on my phone!

Hopefully this thread will give me the motivation I need!

Cookie79 · 18/08/2022 09:31

I’m in - am dreadful for lurking on these threads and thinking “I must do this” but don’t. Got a stressful week coming up with a house move but after than I should be all in. (Long story but relocated last year and bought what turned out to be a fixer upper whilst we decided exactly where to settle and now our new house is almost built).

I think stress of relocation, horrendous renovation, new job, DD has had some health issues etc has really shown on my face and hair (and waistline).

Went blonde again last week so that’s helping me feel brighter. A nice new hairdresser where I’m moving to utterly pampered me and DD (the backwash chairs were also massage chairs and I got a heated eye mask whilst the olaplex did whatever it does).

I already take a few vitamin supplements so need to make sure I keep that up.

Things I can do:

  1. Ditch alcohol except for special occasions (like the Lytham proms next Sunday - it is my civic duty to sit and enjoy it with a bit of champagne and a Booths picnic).
  2. Paint nails more. Done toenails but fingers will have to wait until a nasty cut on my thumb has healed (dismantling a bed).
  3. Get out more for walks at lunchtime. More runs once my knees are stronger.
  4. Do exercises on YouTube in the mornings instead of mumsnetting 😉
  5. Face routine - am pretty good but will do more sheet masks as it forces me to sit still.
  6. lashes and brows - been tinting these myself for years so keep that topped up.
  7. Food/diet - I’m a bit of a foodie anyhow but been thrown a bit as DD has just been diagnosed coeliac so need to make a lot more from scratch and not rely on GF processed foods.
  8. Hair masks - need to get back into these.
Quit coffee - nope nope nope. The world doesn’t need that. But I’ll stick to mornings only and have a herbal tea in the afternoon.

I have a reunion lunch in early October with some old friends and we’ve not all been in the same village/country/continent for a long time so that’s my target to look glossy and lovely.

Communionmom · 18/08/2022 13:03

Welcome all!

Some brilliant ideas in lists that I’m going to steal - like the board game with kids one.
Also really should include my nails and moisturising my feet & legs.

I need to order some bits from The Ordinary and Only Curls but I’ll work with what I have for now.

Yes I'm in please! Starting a new, fairly intense job in October and I want to be in some good habits by then. I've let myself go over the last year and I really need to sort it out.

  • I need to lose 8lbs
  • sort my hair out, lots of hair loss. It's curly/wavy and just a mess!
  • exercise every day. Walk or yoga mostly.
  • drink lots of water
  • eat healthier food
  • sleep!
  • no alcohol at all

Looking forward to getting stuck in.

declutteringmymind · 18/08/2022 13:42

I hope you don't mind me joining! I'm back from my hols this weekend and feel like a fat spotty blob. I'm trying to book a hydra facial on my last day to kick start things. I've also bought lots of skincare while I've been here too.

Good luck everyone

moribundclock · 18/08/2022 13:43

I'd like to join please! I'll have a read of the thread later. September onwards is going to be very busy so I'd like to be as ready to face that as possible.

Exercise and health is the only thing I almost have sorted, it's taken nearly two years, but I do some exercise or running nearly every day at home, and have two or three classes a week.
I won't give up coffee, but I limit to no more than four daily.

  • use Lumea
  • paint toe nails more regularly
  • sleep is woeful, I need a much earlier bedtime
-meditation
  • hair masks I used to do more often (with shower cap for a few hours) but this has slipped.
vjg13 · 18/08/2022 14:27

I really want to eat more fruit and veg and less crap too!

Gazelda · 18/08/2022 16:39

For those of you who tint your lashes - do you wear contact lenses? Should I take them out before tinting or does that risk a tint disaster?

Do you leave the tint on for the same time as eyebrows? Or less?

I take contacts out first! I think that's the general advice too.

I don't know about eyebrows as I don't tint mine and it says 'not for use on eyebrows' on the eyelash dye, though it's blue-black which would not suit my colouring anyway!

I have LVL and you have to remove them for that, I would with just a tint to be safe

PatienceOfEngels · 18/08/2022 19:14

Coming back 7th September to set my goals and get started.

Communionmom · 18/08/2022 21:20

Think I need to incorporate meditation or mindfulness or something to help with stress relief.

was just trying to book tickets to a pumpkin farm and the website crashed, took it an hour to open and then the stress of trying to get the day and time I wanted!! Got it, but I was sweating! Was trying to book the same time as SIL so extra pressure. Most weekends are sold out already.

SquirrelFan · 19/08/2022 09:10

Thanks for the thread, OP, I really need something like this to get me on track! Hope I can stick with it with the support here! My list:
-drink more water (5 glasses per day seems like a manageable goal)
-drink alcohol 2x per week - it's become an everyday thing!
-fit in exercise before work (this will be the most challenging)
-bed by 10:30 unless a special occasion
-pamper Sundays - face mask, hair mask, foot care, nails
-10 fruit and vegetables a day
-lose 10 lbs - doesn't sound like a lot, but on a menopausal body it's the difference between clothes fitting or not! Hoping the water and veg and exercise will do the trick.
Good luck everybody, I look forward to seeing your updates!

Montague22 · 19/08/2022 09:14

I’ll join with 5 for now

  1. everyday tan as my highlights mean I need to.

  2. hard skin on feet.

  3. TOMM

  4. drink more water/squash

  5. exercise once a week swim/run/dvd

That’s loads for me!

70isaLimitNotaTarget · 19/08/2022 10:07

Revitalash and Revitabrow every evening
I've put them next to my toothbrush to remind me , because they ain't going to make my eyebrows and eyelashes grow sitting in a drawer Wink

declutteringmymind · 19/08/2022 10:16

Ok so here's the plan

  1. Eat as little but as well as possible

Keep distracted from eating by:

Beauty regime restart
Teeth whitening
Exfoliating
Exercise
Doing an online course
Setting up a virtual assistant for my admin
Declutter kitchen and store room

Labelling uniforms
Saving money for a style update
Reorganising bank accounts
Meal planning and taking healthy lunches

Avoiding

Fancy dinners
Spending Money
Takeaway

I have a meals with friends booked in August and September, and a night away in September so those will have to be navigated well.

Good luck everyone, we can do this.

I’m convinced that all the beauty stuff I have in my drawer works by a kind of Osmosis! Otherwise I feel very guilty about not using it!

You’ve also reminded me I have The Ordinary lash stuff sitting in my shopping cart - might treat myself.

How has everyone water intake been today.. I've had around 1.5 l and a bottle of Prosecco 😅

Boppertini · 19/08/2022 22:16

Joining!
I’ve made big changes since the last time I commented on one of these threads but looking to add:

  • TOMM

  • no more cheese as my skin seems to hate it

  • a lot less wine as my skin seems to hate that too

  • remembering (bothering) to do my gradual tanner

  • dye eyebrows (I think I’ll find a salon as I’ve never done it before)

I might treat myself to some new makeup if I stick with the above!

EmergencyPoncho · 20/08/2022 10:04

Joining too! I have had a challenging 3 years but it's taught me I value a lot more what I have. So this is perfect, thank you. I'm going to:

Eat more fruit and veg and less processed food
Meditate 3 x per week
Get back into running
Take cod liver oil for knees (see above)
Think carefully about what I spend money on, not just tat I don't need
Spend more on beauty treatments: facials etc
Ensure nails are painted

Starting.. Tomorrow as we have a night away tonight.
