Anyone fancy a good old-fashioned 100 day princessing thread??

i haven’t seen one of these in a while and I need it!!!

I’ve been a bit of a mess since lockdown. Overweight, drinking too much, house a bit of a mess, sleep patterns gone out the window, not much exercise (I do walk the dog but he’s older so it’s more of a gentle stroll).

I want to feel like me again and I like a deadline.

In 103 days it’s 28th November, which is pretty much the start of Christmas. We also have a Center Parcs holiday booked.
Now if you’re Irish (like me), Christmas starts on 25th November (The Late Late Toy Show) so it’s actually 100 days today!

In the past, people would come up with a list of 10? things they want to focus on over the 100 days. I think In the early challenges there used to be 1 list but later ones were more individual with everyone having their own list.

My basics are

  1. 7.5 hours sleep a night (I never seem to get to 8)
  2. 2L water a day
  3. 16:8 fasting
  4. Shower, teeth & wash face daily.
  5. Start back with TOMM cleaning schedule
  6. use Lumea hair removal weekly
  7. deep clean every room
  8. figure out how to deal with my wavy hair
  9. get my eyebrows done
  10. exercise, even just for 10 minutes, everyday.
I might tweak some of these but it’s a starting point.

so anyone else in??

Hello everyone!

First time doing one of these but it seems exactly what I need! I generally keep myself in a decent state but am terrible at the sort of regular habits that really make a difference. I've also put on about half a stone over past few months just through eating mindlessly so would be great to cement some healthier habits in run up to Christmas!

Take vitamins each day
Get 8 hours sleep
Eat five fruit and veg a day
Eat no wheat
Drink 4 pints of water
Walk 10k steps a day
Run three times a week
Moisturise after shower
Hand cream twice a day
Use weekly face mask

I've got myself a habit building app too. Looking forward to this!

PatienceOfEngels · 20/08/2022 11:22

Have a big project on atm which will be done in 2 weeks and then I can crack on with a bigger list but right now...

-no booze
-no junk food or evening eating (herbal tea in the evening is stopping me reaching for the biscuits)
-cooking from scratch and snacking on fruit/veg

Will pick up exercise goals and grooming/self-care tasks once my project is finished!

notacooldad · 20/08/2022 11:26

Problem is I'm great at the first few days and joining threads with enthusiasm but then completely forgetting and falling off the wagon
What works for me is that I draw a sketch picture of 'me'
I do little comments next to each bit eg hair cut, face (new make up look) feet,(pedicure and gel nails)
I also write dates in my diary as appointments to make sure things happen.

BeBraveAndBeKind · 20/08/2022 11:43

Communionmom · 20/08/2022 17:45

I'm late checking in.

Is today Day 1 or Day 100??

In good news I actually did my hair and put on make up AND perfume when I had to leave the house today.

In bad news I've had very little water, no fasting and I will be drinking tonight (and last night)

But it's baby steps!

OP posts:
LBB2020 · 20/08/2022 18:42

I did a big clear out of my wardrobe today including underwear (was well overdue!) and we went for a walk around a local nature reserve so got some fresh air and exercise.
Water intake has been poor and so has food but as you say @Communionmom it’s baby steps in the right direction.
Tomorrow I will try to tackle my beauty stash and am going to make an effort to style my hair (I had a practice curling my hair today and it actually worked quite well!). We’re going to a bbq at a friends house tomorrow so there’s some motivation to make more effort to look nice!

70isaLimitNotaTarget · 20/08/2022 19:08

I cracked open a bttle of Molton Brown Orange and Bergamont shower gel 500ml so hopefully it'll last a good while . It's my favourite MB fragrance .

Also ordered a jumper and a fleece jacket for A/W , so in a few weeks, I'll go through my winter clothes and sort out coats . I did sent a couple off to Charity earlier this year . But still kept my M&S Leopard that I've had for years and my DD won't let me wear Shock . I think I look more Kat Slater than Pat Butcher but I might be delusional !

Not doing too bad so far today.

Managed 6 of them today.

Failed at the Amazon orders but in my defence, I did order food containers for my batch cooking so I’ve let myself off that one today. 🤣

Purpleavocado · 20/08/2022 20:19

I'm in, I need some accountability!

  1. Carry on with the youtbube workouts. I heartily recommend Sydney Cummings.
  2. Another one with using my Lumea weekly.
  3. Daily TOMM
  4. Moisturise feet and wear my gel socks daily
  5. Take daily vitamins
  6. Read at least 50 pages a day
  7. 15 minutes Duolingo
  8. List 2 things per week on Vinted and sell Popsy dresses on Facebook
  9. Use handcream
10. Fake tan a few times a week
Clementine183 · 20/08/2022 21:27

I am going to try and join too! Here are my first thoughts:

  • Drink at least 1.5l water a day (I know, I know, it should be 2, but I'm terrible at drinking even 1)

  • Keep up with daily 10-min power abs workout

  • Carry on calorie counting and logging via Nutracheck - have lost almost a stone in the past few months and don't need/want to lose more weight but want to maintain where I am now

  • Do skincare routine of serums (face, under-eye and eyelash) and face cream twice daily

  • Eat more fruit and veg, including cooking Riverford recipe box once a week

  • Make time for self-care and visit spa/pool once a week if possible (I am lucky enough to have a local membership but so far have hardly managed to go)

  • Try and meditate or at least take ten mins for breathing exercises/moment of calm every day

  • Steadily turn out all the crap in the house (this will be the hardest one)

Eeeeeek

Minnie123456 · 21/08/2022 00:01

Can I join please, although i'm terrible for falling off threads 🙈
1 loose weight, i'm aiming for 1lb loss a week

2 drink more (not alcohol) I forget to drink, during the week in work isn't too bad but when i'm home I can go without drinking.

3 get more sleep, my bedtime has been gradually getting later&later and i'm exhausted all the time.

4 stop biting my nails, this is going to be a hard one. I've currently got gel polish on so can't bite them.

5 keep up a skincare routine instead of giving up a few weeks later.

6 taking vitamins, I buy them but am not consistent with taking them.

7 moisturise my skin after a shower

8 moisturise my hands at least x3 a day, they have started to look old and i'm only 37.

9 less screen time, I think i'm addicted to my phone.

10 declutter the house

thelastgreatdynasty · 21/08/2022 04:20

Oooh, can I join in too? I need a reset.

  1. No boozing at home
  1. Exercise everyday for at least 10 mins
  1. Drink more water
  1. Get back into looking after my skin
  1. Moisturise feet every day
  1. Eat fruit and veg everyday
  1. Read every day
  1. De clutter
  1. Check in with my mood everyday
  1. Practice gratitude
AnyoneElseFeelDone · 21/08/2022 07:46

I'd like to join please.

I look after myself well on a superficial level - hair, make up etc but not where it really matters so my focus is:
1 16/8 to cut down on mindless eating
2 vitamins
3 cut out gluten as much as possible and increase whole foods
4 yoga
5 mindfulness

Good luck and I will be back daily for accountability.

coolcahuna · 21/08/2022 08:03

I need to do this too! Love reading everyone's lists. Mine are

5k steps every day
Get back to 100% no caffeine( had a few slip ups)
Skincare routine every night, even when tired
Lights out by 10.30 on a week night
2 litre water
Keep on top of roots
Moisturize body every day.
Pummice stone roller and footcream
Continue fasting but start calorie counting again to lose some more weight
Plan outfits more and wear more of my clothes.

threadneedle · 21/08/2022 09:08

I would love to join, the accountability is a great motivation. I used to have a really good routine but it's all fallen apart in the last year so I need to sort myself out. Past experience tells me that a long list is overwhelming so I'm going to break it down into a few habits at a time and build from there.

Current goals

  1. More water, starting with 5 glasses a day
  1. Vitamins, I'm going to buy a pill box, I think it will help me remember
  1. Porridge with fruit and nuts on weekdays for breakfast
  1. Lipstick, nail polish and earrings every day, I feel totally transformed by these small things!
  1. Read in bed, even just one page. I used to get through a couple of books a week, now it's more like one a year.

I already do and need to maintain:
16/8 works so well for me, I've been able to avoid menopause weight gain with IF

No alcohol, I'd much rather use the calories on good chocolate!

Good skincare and facial massage every evening

Daily walk with a podcast/audiobook

Cook from scratch, 8-10 plant based foods a day (porridge with soya milk, stewed apple, blueberries and flaked almonds is 5 so that makes it really easy) I feel much better physically when I eat like this.

Future goals:
Use lumea regularly (so many of us!!)
Hobby project that I've been thinking about for a few years, I need to just start it
Duo lingo, I was great at it during lockdown

lisam78 · 21/08/2022 09:18

I managed to do a morning workout, go an afternoon walk, use the lovely shower oil I got from a Christmas beauty box last year, and do a manicure. Probably undid all the good work by drinking gin and eating Doritos while watching a movie last night!

Will aim for a face mask this morning, a walk and more water today. Back to the exercise tomorrow!

CordeliaNaismithVorkosigan · 21/08/2022 09:23

May I join? I aim to:

Finally get the electrolysis for my facial hair that I’ve been considering for years
Go to a weekly yoga class
No alcohol Monday - Thursday (unless I’m out for dinner)
Count calories and get rid of the summer holiday weight
Get a massage once or twice a month
Get to bed earlier (this one is hard with a night owl child)
Use up some of the body moisturiser I’ve accumulated
Take vitamin D supplements this winter

Cookie79 · 21/08/2022 11:33

Managed to get out for a run this morning even though my body was crying to veg on the sofa with a brew. I’m 15 minutes drive from the coast so it seems daft not to drive out, park up and run by the sea. Declined the offer from the organisers of the Fleetwood half marathon to stay and join in though 😬

Baby steps until our house move is sorted next week then I can really concentrate on stepping up self care and beauty routine and more exercise. The new house is near a beautiful park with an outdoor gym so I can swap between that and running along the sea front.

thelastgreatdynasty · 21/08/2022 15:41

Well done @Cookie79
I've read, looked after my skin, moisturised my feet, been on a bike ride and drunk more water. Oh and no Sunday funday boozing for me.
I need to get some more fruit and veg in and declutter. I checked in with my mood this morning and I do feel a bit unsettled, so I practiced some gratitude.
All in all a good 1st day for me.

1982mommaof4 · 21/08/2022 16:47

Played board games today
Rubbish with the water so going to get as much down me before bed.

Reading in bed tonight

Purpleavocado · 21/08/2022 17:04

I've done workout and taken my vitamin. Going to order a pillbox from Amazon to put in fish oil etc.
Fake tanned and lumead. Going to write out a Lumea schedule so I can hit all areas weekly before my holiday in September.
Put some shoes on vinted, have done my reading and Duolingo so feeling good!

BeBraveAndBeKind · 21/08/2022 18:02

I'm starting tomorrow and I've added another - daily vitamin. I've also written them out in a notebook with half a page for each day to track my progress.

CurlsandCurves · 21/08/2022 18:25

I’d love to join this too. Will have a think about what my goals ought to be.

I have made a start today in that I’ve exfoliated and done proper skincare this morning.
Will self tan later.
Drunk 1.5litres of water.
Booked a hair appointment.
Do a nightly skincare routine.
Will slather my feet in foot cream and let it sink in while watching tv tonight.
