Anyone fancy a good old-fashioned 100 day princessing thread??

i haven’t seen one of these in a while and I need it!!!

I’ve been a bit of a mess since lockdown. Overweight, drinking too much, house a bit of a mess, sleep patterns gone out the window, not much exercise (I do walk the dog but he’s older so it’s more of a gentle stroll).

I want to feel like me again and I like a deadline.

In 103 days it’s 28th November, which is pretty much the start of Christmas. We also have a Center Parcs holiday booked.
Now if you’re Irish (like me), Christmas starts on 25th November (The Late Late Toy Show) so it’s actually 100 days today!

In the past, people would come up with a list of 10? things they want to focus on over the 100 days. I think In the early challenges there used to be 1 list but later ones were more individual with everyone having their own list.

My basics are

  1. 7.5 hours sleep a night (I never seem to get to 8)
  2. 2L water a day
  3. 16:8 fasting
  4. Shower, teeth & wash face daily.
  5. Start back with TOMM cleaning schedule
  6. use Lumea hair removal weekly
  7. deep clean every room
  8. figure out how to deal with my wavy hair
  9. get my eyebrows done
  10. exercise, even just for 10 minutes, everyday.
I might tweak some of these but it’s a starting point.

so anyone else in??

Could I join please?

My intentions are to :-

  • drink less tea and coffee , swapping these for water and fruit teas.
  • move more.
  • have 10 portions of fruit and veg each day.
  • ensure I eat some good quality protein each day.
  • sort out my pelvic floor by going back to using my INNOVO contraption 5 times a week.
But, above all, I need to be a princess 24/7, not just when I’m going out in public. So, it’s no more lounging around the house in my dressing gown. Every morning I’m going to shower and then put something decent on. Heck, I might even put earrings in. I’m sure it’ll do wonders for my self-esteem!
Anothernosebleed · 22/08/2022 22:56

Oh please can I join? I'm off to Lapland this December with my little boy and want to take a thousand photos so would love to look and feel my best.

I'm going to:

  • take my medication and vitamins every day
  • cleanse properly morning and night
  • book a scale and polish with the dental hygienist
  • get nails done every 4 weeks
  • concentrate on taming my frizz and embracing my curls
  • up the veg intake
  • stay on top of eyebrow maintenance (I'm lucky to have decent brows but that means I only pluck them a couple of times a year and they don't have that polished look often)
SquirrelFan · 23/08/2022 08:03

Has anyone got a link to the ten vegetables a day thread (I've searched but can't find it)? Or any tips on getting more in? I realised last night that I had eaten about 1 serving yesterday!

LBB2020 · 23/08/2022 08:18

Yesterday was day 1 for me, it was a mixed bag! Food choices not the best but I drank 1.5ltrs of water and went for a good walk (which was actually really nice after a very stressful day at work!). Today I’m aiming to get going with C25K again and do a bit of pampering this evening

Floydthebarber · 23/08/2022 08:56

Ooooh, marking my place. I've seen these threads before and is now time to commit.

Me too!

MontalbanoFan · 23/08/2022 09:42

Hi @SquirrelFan . I’ve just done a search and there are several threads on 10 a day but not the one you and I are thinking of. In fact, the threads I’ve found talk about how difficult it is to eat even 5 portions of fruit/veg.

Some of them even insist that having 10 portions could be bad for you, messing up your digestion.

I have done done it before, though, and felt very well. Not full size portions all the time. Even a couple of grapes would be marked down by me as a portion!

I suppose the important thing is to try and get a bit of variety in your diet. More difficult nowadays though, unfortunately, with the cost of living as high as it is.

declutteringmymind · 23/08/2022 09:55

@MontalbanoFan

10 a day is doable. Things like stir fries, veggie fajitas, soup, frittata, smoothies can pack them in quite quickly and easily.

Other quick wins are roast parsnips or sweet potatoes instead of potatoes, substituting half rice for half cauliflower rice.

Just aim for more a day and

MontalbanoFan · 23/08/2022 10:08

@declutteringmymind

I’m off to the shops soon and I’ll make a start. Yesterday I managed 4 veg and 1 fruit. Onwards and upwards today!

SquirrelFan · 23/08/2022 10:26

Thanks, @MontalbanoFan I've searched and couldn't even find one! It's harder when you do 8/16 fasting because it limits the number of meals to squeeze them in! @declutteringmymind I'm finding it surprisingly difficult, especially as I have a family who prefer a less veggie-heavy diet and I don't want to make separate meals. But prepping carrot sticks at the moment - they're easy, fast, raw, and everyone likes them!

Anothernosebleed · 23/08/2022 11:56

So my son is at respite today so I'm guzzling water, stuck on a kaolin clay mask and am tinting my eyebrows. Might even give them a tidy afterwards.

Petmurf · 23/08/2022 13:18

Day 3

Started TOMM this morning
No coffee yet today, just water and herbal tea
proper breakfast/brunch
no alcohol last night
2nd day of 16:8
Riding my horse after work

Feeling good 👍

AnyoneElseFeelDone · 23/08/2022 16:22

No massive saint here @SquirrelFan but if you aim to eat 3 times in that window then yogurt berries and nuts, soup and a stir fry would get quite a few portions or at least a range of fruit and veg in.

Communionmom · 23/08/2022 16:49

Well bugger! Just been to the docs and it looks like I have a chest infection.

OP posts:
declutteringmymind · 23/08/2022 17:16

@Communionmom oh no. Hope you get well soon. Meanwhile lots of rest and fluids and pampering where possible.

AnyoneElseFeelDone · 23/08/2022 17:38

Oh no @Communionmom

I've run out of vitamins - thought I had a pack stashed away. Hopefully Prime will save the day by delivering tomorrow so I don't skip one.

I've done:
16/8
Almost no gluten
Vitamins
Fruit, veg, exercise, water

Will do a quick yoga stretch later

Floydthebarber · 23/08/2022 18:51

I will have a read to catch up next, but here are my goals:

  • epilate my legs regularly
  • up my shockingly low fruit and veg intake. This isn't helped by an allergy to lots of raw fruits and veg so I can't just munch on an apple. Need to do more soups.
  • take my liquid iron and vitamins every day.
  • stop picking at hormonal pimples!
  • get the house tidied and organised. I have started this already a couple of days ago anyway with a December deadline
  • get two or three really nice jumpers for winter, quality pieces to look after
  • spend ten minutes each day on me. Possibly meditation. The six weeks holiday has been non-stop and I am aware of my patience slipping
  • keep my feet nice!
CurlsandCurves · 23/08/2022 21:14

I’m keeping up with my skincare and body care.
water intake is about 500ml less than I’d like. I’ve been doing 2 750ml bottles but would like more. Definitely my next thing to concentrate on.
Had a hygienist appointment today. I need to keep on top of that as I suffer from gum disease. And he called me out on not using my interdental brushes enough. So teeth is my next thing. I had proper trays made years ago for whitening so I need to get back on those as well.

Diets been ok. Definitely less sweet stuff, I was terrible for dipping into the kids sweet box. But not this week.

Exercise has been bad because of work and a bit of personal stuff. But Im hoping to do something on Thursday and once this month is out of the way I’ll be able to fit more in.

This thread is great for keeping me in line just from reading what you guys are all up to, you’re doing so well xx

Purpleavocado · 23/08/2022 21:19

Day 3/100
It's going really well! My feet are getting softer and I'm keeping on top of things. Booked in for Botox next week! 😂

Littleguggi · 23/08/2022 22:05

I'd love to join please. I plan to

  • cut down on my mind afternoon sugary snacks
  • drink decaf only
  • do 10min yoga a day
  • go to gym at least twice a week
  • remember to do pelvic floor exercises
  • organise my wardrobe and find autumn outfits without having to buy anything new
  • find a deep conditioning treatment for my hair
  • take multivitamins
  • try to loose the half a stone I've put on over the last year!
  • find a new hobby to stop scrolling my phone in the eve
thelastgreatdynasty · 23/08/2022 22:27

Day 3
Well done everyone who's giving this a go. @Communionmom I hope you feel better soon. I've had a busy day working today, so I'm surprised at how many things I achieved on my list. However, yet again I need to do better with water!! I also need to do double de cluttering tomorrow.
However, I have had fruit and veg, moisturiser on feet, skincare done, gratitude and journal complete, I've read too. Although I really wanted a glass of wine after battling traffic on the way home I managed to avoid it!

Minnie123456 · 23/08/2022 23:33

Bit of a hit and miss the last few days:
Have restarted a skin care routine although I now have the biggest spot ever on my chin.
Decluttered 10 bags of dd's old clothes
Remembered to take my vitamins.
Managed to apply hand cream at least twice a day.

Really need to drink more water as i'm definately not drinking enough.
I also need to brush my teeth for longer, my teeth aren't great and I know I don't brush them for long enough.

peacocktail · 24/08/2022 00:06

Not such a bad day. Put make-up on and did hair. Really need to drink more water and get to grips with eating better. I will be back tomorrow showing off about all the water I have had ...........hopefully.

LBB2020 · 24/08/2022 08:38

Hope you feel better soon @Communionmom
Day 2 (yesterday) wasn’t great but I remembered my daily vitamins and got out for a long walk

MontalbanoFan · 24/08/2022 08:55

Get well soon, @Communionmom .

I’ve been managing to get dressed first thing in the morning - and I feel better for it. Bought some nice fruit and veg yesterday to keep me going for a few days. Pelvic floor has had a couple of good workouts.

Like some others have posted, I’m not drinking enough water. Will try and remedy that today. All in all though, a satisfactory start.
