Anyone fancy a good old-fashioned 100 day princessing thread??

i haven’t seen one of these in a while and I need it!!!

I’ve been a bit of a mess since lockdown. Overweight, drinking too much, house a bit of a mess, sleep patterns gone out the window, not much exercise (I do walk the dog but he’s older so it’s more of a gentle stroll).

I want to feel like me again and I like a deadline.

In 103 days it’s 28th November, which is pretty much the start of Christmas. We also have a Center Parcs holiday booked.
Now if you’re Irish (like me), Christmas starts on 25th November (The Late Late Toy Show) so it’s actually 100 days today!

In the past, people would come up with a list of 10? things they want to focus on over the 100 days. I think In the early challenges there used to be 1 list but later ones were more individual with everyone having their own list.

My basics are

  1. 7.5 hours sleep a night (I never seem to get to 8)
  2. 2L water a day
  3. 16:8 fasting
  4. Shower, teeth & wash face daily.
  5. Start back with TOMM cleaning schedule
  6. use Lumea hair removal weekly
  7. deep clean every room
  8. figure out how to deal with my wavy hair
  9. get my eyebrows done
  10. exercise, even just for 10 minutes, everyday.
I might tweak some of these but it’s a starting point.

so anyone else in??

Oh no, Communionmom, hope you don't feel too ill.

Working at home today. Face moisturised and used a vit c serum, feet smoothered in cocobutter, just neatening up my eyebrows and iron supplement taken.

Also had a nice breakfast of porridge instead of my usual instant coffee (still had coffee though!)

thelastgreatdynasty · 24/08/2022 19:34

Day 4

I've done most things on my list, but could have done with more fruit and veg. I also didn't get chance to exercise unfortunately :(

AnyoneElseFeelDone · 24/08/2022 19:36

Not too bad today. 4 out of 5 but had pasta and garlic bread for tea, so definitely gluten!

Dry body brushed and feet done with a file. Just about to go out some cream on them.

Have a good evening! Remember to drink your water 😉

BumWeasel · 24/08/2022 21:02

Day 3 and 4

I've been rubbish the last 2 days. Had an hormonal migraine, eaten pure crap and went to bed without even washing my face, never mind moisturising. I'm going to have an early night and start afresh tomorrow. Well done everyone who is making progress.

Purpleavocado · 24/08/2022 22:33

Day 4/100
Doing well, especially picking TOMM back up so my carpets look nice and vacuumed.
However... eating is bad! I need to make more of an effort, espat lunch time, when I have a tendency to grab junk food. I'm a shorty so it's easy for me to go into a calorie surplus.

fallfallfall · 25/08/2022 02:37

I’d like to join in please: my goal is simple nail care hands and feet. Which should include moisturizing my legs and arms.
i’m really excited with my updated/new nail care products!
I started yesterday fingernails first.
No one I know is really keen to hear about this.
cuticle oil twice a day, tomorrow am my nails get a coat of nail envy day 3.

declutteringmymind · 25/08/2022 08:13

On day 5 today.

I've got off to a great start with 16:8. Still getting used to the black coffee but I've already lost the holiday bloat and my energy levels have really lifted.

I did a face peel last night and booked my
Hair colour in.

Also booked a vegan restaurant this weekend so looking forward to some virtuous but tasty food.

I've also started on an online course.

Todays focus is going to be exercise cooking
Healthy but delicious food.

getagriplove · 25/08/2022 08:45

Well a huge work drama has blown up yesterday so I didn't manage to complete any of my targets!

But - now I know next few weeks are going to be so busy it's made me more determined to look after myself by carrying on, and at least I won't emerge from it looking like something that has emerged from underneath a bridge!

Well done everyone with sticking with it.

Deathraystare · 25/08/2022 08:55

Oh Jeez, where to start! This time, I mean it (Maaan!)

I only live in one room and it is packed to the gunnells. I have been tidying it for ages and still going strong! Loads of clothes that wont fit in wardrobe, or either of the two chest of drawers. This is because when I cant find anything, I buy more!

I have packed some stuff in storage but will need to do more and plenty of chucking away too. Any excess toiletries (there are a few......) can go to our ladies' psych ward.

I need to:
Drink much less soda,
Eat more veg,
Cook from scratch more. I keep going to a cafe. Though actually, in the heat I can never make up my mind what to eat (apart from ice cream!). I had salad yesterday but what a bore!
Attempt to walk more - I have rheumatoid arthritis.
Sort my hair out. If I insist on keeping it long it needs a sort of style!
Get organised.
Don't lose things (once I finish my tidy up that should be ok.
Possibly take up swimming lessons again. I have some lovely swimsuits from EMP (Goth/Alternative stuff) including a fantastic Rammstein tankini!!! That should encourage me!
I also should not need to buy any more clothes for a long time. I need to stick to this!
Should also not need any toiletries for a long time, even cleanser!
Want to dye lashes and get something done about my almost non existent brows
Cant do laser on my face hair as it is already mostly white, Dammit.
Must get back on my Slimfast. Have enough of the tubs, just need to do it. Managed quite good before but dunno why I stopped. I love the Caffe Latte and Banana flavours. The vanilla one is ok, a bit ice creamy though rather sweet.
I would love to paint my nails but at the moment all the tidying up has left me nails chipped and the clear protective polish is almost gone now. However, I have at last cut my long toe nails!

PatienceOfEngels · 25/08/2022 09:22

Currently trying to finish a massive project and was going to wait till then to post, but realised I'm still meeting some of my goals!

For now:

  1. No evening eating.
  2. Snacking on fruit and veg only (managing this about 95% of the time atm).
  3. No alcohol or fizzy drinks.
  4. Minimum 2x water bottle per day (1 litre, topped up with limited coffee and lots of herbal tea).

Once my project finishes I'll pick up:

  1. Yoga 3x a week.
  2. Swimming 1x a week.
  3. Restart C25K. (maybe not all 3 of them starting in the same week!)
  4. Pamper night 1x a week (feet, face, hair, body)

There's tonnes more less measurable stuff that I've been ignoring and needs dealing with (sort out house/declutter, clothes, garden) but small steps.

Loving reading everyone else's updates - inspiring me to prioritise my health.

RaininginDarling · 25/08/2022 09:59

Can I join? Relatively new to MN and not heard of princessing before. Every day's a school day!

I'm early 50s getting married next May but feeling...not my best.

Had unexpected major surgery exactly one year ago which threw me into menopause proper and I have Crohn's which has been pretty debilitating ever since - both issues compounding the other.

Anyway, a year on, I'm only just starting to get back into exercise. The HRT has me piling on the weight, my skin feels dull, my hair, now Covid grey (which I do love), is wavy but mainly looks unkempt and I'm obsessing about my ever lighter eyebrows 🤣

For me:
Get back into a daily yoga. Just ten mins to start.
Walk every day (3 miles)
Swimming weekly (once or twice a week 30 lengths at the pool)
I've been waiting list for eyebrow microblading - year long waiting list so that should be up soon.
Regular trims
Drink more water

Get rid of everything in my wardrobe that I've either not worn, never worn or feel a bit crap in!

That's me.

AnyoneElseFeelDone · 25/08/2022 18:28

Hello to the newbies. Sure you will fit in and benefit from checking in.

Doing ok here. Water, vitamins, healthier choices for food, some yoga and or mindfulness and some body care too.

Tonight I want to try a bit of DIY reflexology.

70isaLimitNotaTarget · 25/08/2022 18:52

Get rid of everything in my wardrobe that I've either not worn, never worn or feel a bit crap in

There must've been a reason why you bought it , so hang onto them (for now) and see if you can weave them into your wardrobe . (Obvs if it's something you feel rubbish in then recycle it)

I have a rule for me that if I like something instore , if I'm not 100% ,I wait till I get home and order it online . Maybe wait 24 hours , often I've gone off it
And I never buy clothes if I'm feeling miserable . Everytime I would wear it will only remind me how crap I felt .

You can try the putting all your hangers facing forwards then when you remove something put the hanger facing back. Then after 4-6 months you see what you haven't taken out .

MontalbanoFan · 25/08/2022 21:02

Disaster!!!

Veneer on front tooth has cracked and I can’t get an appointment with dentist until November! I have never felt less like a princess. Have to ring dentists’ receptionist every morning to see if there’s a cancellation so that they can fit me in earlier.

In other news, I’ve been eating lots of fruit and veg. Pelvic floor is having a daily workout. Still not drinking enough water though - ridiculous, as that should be one of the easiest things to achieve.

thelastgreatdynasty · 25/08/2022 21:02

Day 5, I've had a stress headache all day, however I managed most things on my list -
Including drinking more water, which I struggled with initially. I haven't read today, but I'm happy with what I did achieve.

Minnie123456 · 25/08/2022 22:31

Managed to declutter all of Dd's old clothes, need to do mine and dh's next.
Have been brushing my teeth for 2 mins every night, bit shorter in the mornings, 2 minutes seems so long, I might start using a mouthwash as well.
Following a simple skincare routine, managed to get rid of the huge spot by putting toothpaste on it overnight.

Healthy eating and drinking more water not going great. Need to try and stick to these as I have a wedding to go to in October and want to look my best.

declutteringmymind · 25/08/2022 22:36

Hi all, and welcome to or newbies!

Day 5 - mediocre but I've kept to my 16:8, had loads of sleep, and done my skincare. Bit of a lazy day otherwise but I needed it. Going to sleep in as much as possible tomorrow too.

@Communionmom how are you feeling?

RaininginDarling · 26/08/2022 00:47

That's a great idea @70isaLimitNotaTarget - going to try the hanger thing :)

peacocktail · 26/08/2022 10:20

Well, I have come to a decision. I have realised that I am the only person who can help me. I will not be telling anyone around me because I need to know if they see a difference.

  1. I downloaded a book about foods and Inflammation.
2 . Ordered some collagen liquid and I hope it works 3 . I will be spending time on myself (in the past I always felt guilty. 4 . Drink rain water when possible We are not princesses at my age. I am a Queen. I love Amazon and this thread. From today 26/08/22 I am in love with myself.
Petmurf · 26/08/2022 14:45

Day 6

No alcohol
ridden horse twice and going again tonight
bed early every night
day and night skincare going well
no gluten
drinking lots of herbal teas and water and much less coffee

I’m also on day 4 of no vaping which is going OK so far 🤞

AnyoneElseFeelDone · 26/08/2022 17:56

Feels like a long week! Thank goodness there's an extra rest day 🤣

Water, vitamins, reasonable food choices, exercise and sorting some grown up stuff.

Just trying not to think of the cost of living crises coming!

SquirrelFan · 26/08/2022 19:47

Day 6:
Better with veg
Meh with water intake
Rubbish with liquor
Good with exercise
So-so on grooming - did get a hair cut, though!
Hope you feel better @Communionmom!

FiveShelties · 27/08/2022 01:00

May I join in too please? I am 66 today so will start on Monday. Cannot believe I am 66, who stole the last 25 years?!

From Monday I have 61 days until I fly back to UK to see my Mum for a month and I plan to be much improved by then.

I am going to work out what my priorities are and will list them later today.

FiveShelties · 27/08/2022 03:21

Had a good think whilst I walked the dog and have decided on the following:
1 Water 8 glasses
2 Get weight back down to 9st 12lbs, will weigh on Monday after birthday celebrations today and tomorrow
3 Minimum of 11,000 steps per day
4 Reduce alcohol
5 Do nails and use face mask weekly
6 Read at lest 50 pages per day
7 Swim or gym three times a week
8 Do something 'fun' every week - have friends here, go out for dinner, have a takeaway etc

I think that is enough to start with - perhaps too much. 61 days from Monday.😂

mathanxiety · 27/08/2022 04:51

I'd love to join.

I need to make a dentist appointment and also get an eye exam.

Bed by 10.30 Sunday to Thursday. Relax before bed.

Redo my CV and start seriously looking for a new job. Identify goals. Visualise.

Healthy eating for weight loss. So far so good. Need to keep at the exercise and keep on drinking water.

Get a pedicure. I've managed to put this off since Mother's Day because of the foot tickling involved.

See if I can flog some clothes online.
