@Theteapotsbrokenspout Yes I did ! I hoped they would take pity on me and let me in but they completely ignored me! A couple of people came out clutching what looked like free gifts. Eventually I sloped off back to the car and drove away.......

Laska2Meryls · 27/07/2022 20:23

Oh how annoying @MrsCat1 .. I think that I might have actually cried ..
Yes its a bit grim with no Toast parcels to look forward to , isnt it ? Sad

applecatchers36 · 27/07/2022 21:27

MrsCat that sounds miserable you think they could have invited you in and had an extra contribution...

Ladies I couldn't attend the London feedback today, although I did try to rearrange work things just wasn't possible. Am hoping am not black listed never to be asked again (it was afternoon event & had said I could do an evening as would be working so always a long shot). Sorry not to be able to represent and all that...

MrsCat1 · 27/07/2022 21:31

@applecatchers36 @Laska2Meryls If they had invited me in I'd have complained about excess brown. They clearly realised that and so ignored me. I would have asked for some purple!Smile

Snowyowl78 · 28/07/2022 07:25

There’s a harlequin dress sample on eBay in case anyone was holding out for one! I sometimes search for it even though I don’t need a spare!

dudsville · 28/07/2022 12:22

Could you see either they were all wearing toast clothes @MrsCat1 ?

MrsCat1 · 28/07/2022 12:25

@dudsville The ones that came out were dressed in Toast. But I wasn't. Perhaps that's why they didn't let me in (aside from the strange faces I was making and the finger prints I left all over their windows!)

Countmeout · 28/07/2022 13:50

Oh @MrsCat1 i would have been so disappointed.

has anyone watched the video just put up today? It shows the tunic some of you were talking about on a person.

Theteapotsbrokenspout · 28/07/2022 14:56

Just watched the video, I didn't actually like the tunic at all on the video. My favourite piece was the Kaftan dress Jenny was wearing, but at £275 out of my budget.
I want to get the jersey shirt in slate, and I like the loopback shirt but I wish it came in some different colours. I think I need to give my credit card a rest from clothes buying after the sale, especially as I still haven't ordered the ticking stripe duvet cover that I was looking at before the sale.
But I'm definitely missing the thrill of an arriving Toast parcel.

faustina · 28/07/2022 14:56

I just watched it - the tunic looked a bit overpowering on the model but it's still on my Wishlist. Would love to see it on one of you here. Also loved the dress that she was wearing and the denim skirt - they were both on my Wishlist too (a very pricey Wishlist!)

faustina · 28/07/2022 14:59

@Theteapotsbrokenspout - I can really recommend the ticking bedding. I have it in pink and have also bought the charcoal as a present for DS2 who loves it. Very robust (except for the buttons)

Theteapotsbrokenspout · 28/07/2022 15:06

I think it must have been you who recommended the ticking bedding to me earlier in the year @faustina but I got rather waylaid by the sale. The mineral blue will probably go best with my colour scheme, although it looks very green on my screen.

Countmeout · 28/07/2022 15:37

I thought the tunic looked better on than I expected on the model.
I did not like the very wide trousers she wore in another outfit change. I thought they would be very overwhelming.
I love that blue workwear jacket but already have a few of these and couldn’t justify another.
The dress on Jenny looked quite big I thought , but I love the embroidery on it and the blouse.
She’s quite right about things from one season going with those from another.

My poplin tank arrived after being lost in the depths of the Swansea sorting office since last Friday for some reason. I ordered 2 sizes . I had previously ordered it in white but sent it back as I felt there was too much of it and was too square. I ordered coralite this time, I would say it’s a burnt orange (not brown as someone alluded to in the reviews) . The smaller size is much better in every way and I’m going to keep it as it goes with the shorts nicely and a pair of cheap cotton linen trousers in cream I bought in H and M as I was stuck for a pair of very light trousers or felt I was. Sizing is impossible in Toast, I thought I had it sussed but definitely haven’t.

neveradullmoment99 · 28/07/2022 15:37

I.love the tunic more now but am not keen on the yellowish sandy coloured wide legs. Had them on my wish list. The dress she wore was gorgeous but out of my budget too.
Nice to see things in the flesh.

I didn't like it with the skirt.

neveradullmoment99 · 28/07/2022 15:40

I think what puts me off from it is what bottoms to wear with it. I'm not fussed for double denim.
I have a few wide legs but a tunic on top eould over power me.
I think it needs a narrow trouser. I'm not sure I have many that aren't denim.

OP posts:
Countmeout · 28/07/2022 15:59

No @neveradullmoment99 i didn’t like the double denim, the skirt seemed to be a different shade.
I liked the colour of the jersey jacket/top. I wonder is it that colour in real life.

Snowyowl78 · 28/07/2022 16:07

@Countmeout do you mean the navy one? I saw that in a shop and it’s a dark navy. The material is textured. Is lovely.

neveradullmoment99 · 28/07/2022 16:23

I l8ved the swingy ochre jacket😍

OP posts:
Countmeout · 28/07/2022 16:26

No @Snowyowl78 its that one but in what looked like a yellow shade.

Snowyowl78 · 28/07/2022 16:31

@Countmeout i have that one, is lovely, lemony yellow. Looks the same as it did in the vid.

dudsville · 28/07/2022 17:48

I just watched the video. I wasn't inspired so much by the way they put things together in the video, though I did really like the embroidered peices. What I was inspired by was the idea of the 1940s Bloomsbury Set as a basis for their collection. It gave me ideas about how to wear things I already have, and made todays choice of my re-made denim dress with the olive bracelet tee underneath feel more special. Think I need a kerchief to finish it off, but I've been in all day!

Countmeout · 28/07/2022 19:55

Thanks @Snowyowl78 good to know.

Theteapotsbrokenspout · 28/07/2022 20:04

Sounds lovely @dudsville . I was also thinking about the Bloomsbury Set idea but can't quite visualise how I would make it work as I don't think I'm the right shape.
Also, having shunned the Toast sleeveless dresses all summer because of the deep armholes, I am now fighting the desire to buy one so that I can create layers for autumn.

dudsville · 28/07/2022 21:26

@Theteapotsbrokenspout , be careful, this isn't the thread for fighting the desire to purchase a lovely toast item! And in that spirit, would a layer under it help with the deep arm holes???
