one of my sale parcels arrived this morning. As I suspected, the oat linen cotton trousers are too big, I took too long dithering and the right size had sold out. And the Sturlini sandals might be going back too. They are smaller than I thought they would be, and in contrast to reviews, I don’t find them that comfortable on an initial try. Will try them again later but they would need to be perfect for the price, even in the sale.
I am still waiting for the copper poplin jacket that you also got @ToastCosILoveIt . I gambled by only ordering one size, so I hope it’s the right one.

Snowyowl78 · 24/09/2022 13:01

If anyones interested I’ve just listed some toast things on Depop
depop.app.link/UlrUQaKcAtb

pamshortsbrokenbothherlegs · 24/09/2022 13:09

@ToastCosILoveIt the Yarrells. Apparently they're meant to have a great fit, especially for those small of waist but generous of hip. I bought the canvas ones in the Airforce colour, but if they look good I have the green cord version in my sights as well. And "only" £95! (See what Toast has done to me? 😆)

ScottishMouse · 24/09/2022 13:31

My poplin lightweight jacket just arrived too, along with the ikat dressing gown/jacket thing from the loungewear collection. I threw that in my basket out of curiosity. The small was sold out, but the medium is fine, I think sizing is not that important for the style. It’s basically a dressing gown though, I have no idea how else I would wear it, and I don’t need another dressing gown. So that is going back. The poplin jacket might stay though, I think it would be quite useful. Although still very pricey, so I need to consider carefully over the weekend.

Snowyowl78 · 24/09/2022 13:49

I wonder why they only do the sale over one weekend, they obviously have stock to get rid of! And why never a mens sale?! Weird.

Snowyowl78 · 24/09/2022 13:49

Tempted by the poplin jacket now but it’s long gone!

dudsville · 24/09/2022 14:32

My COS jumpers finally arrived, order placed 12 days ago. They were the "loose fit cropped jumper" in grey and beige and similar shape "alpaca blend" in navy. I'm keeping the grey. I like it a lot, it's exactly the cosy oversized fit I wanted. The beige just isn't my colouring. The alpaca is really nice but I really bought three to choose from rather than to keep so will keep an eye out for whether it goes in any sale, but at £69 it's a pretty good price.

@ScottishMouse is that the white and "denim" ikat jacket that has matching trousers? I love the look of it and would love to get both but it's an expensive purchase for wearing about the house!

ScottishMouse · 24/09/2022 14:41

That’s the one @dudsville. I hoped I might be able to make it work with jeans, but I think I would need to be about 6 inches taller for it but to look like a dressing gown.
I’be just been to a Finisterre store, and wanted to tell you all how lovely their knitwear is this season. I have never purchased any before because it was often not 100% wool, but this season it does seem to be. I tried the Mora sweater which is a great fisherman ribbed sweater, slightly oversized. I am going to buy it, but just cannot decide between the ecru and clay colours. Clay is pinker in real life than o. My screen, and very cute, but ecru might be more versatile. I was also hoping to see the Lundy sweater, but they didn’t have it in stock.

Laska2Meryls · 24/09/2022 19:05

I really like Finisterre this season ...I have been wearing the navy Eyre cardigan on repeat this camping trip and ordered the copper one and the charcoal striped Eldon tee couple of days ago ... You get 10% for signing up and a further 10% for submitting a review so I used those .. I have not tried any of their trousers yet but they look good.

ScottishMouse · 24/09/2022 19:35

Ooh, a further 10% for submitting a review is good. Thanks for that tip @Laska2Meryls

ToastCosILoveIt · 24/09/2022 19:47

@pamshortsbrokenbothherlegs , thank you, tempted by them. The reviews say true to size: ia this your experience?

Countmeout · 24/09/2022 20:12

great to hear about all your purchases. I think that poplin jacket is lovely but couldn’t have justified another jacket.
My parcel is due Tuesday despite the early dispatch notice. Good to hear positive reports about the seersucker dress.

Snowyowl78 · 24/09/2022 20:23

@ToastCosILoveIt ive got a few bits from Finisterre and I would say it’s definately true to size

dudsville · 24/09/2022 20:42

I'm contemplating a potentially stupid idea, talk me out of it? The COS jumper I'm keeping was only available one size bigger than I'd like at the time of purchasing. It's now available in my size so I've bought it. I'm keeping the tags on the larger one for now, but it is so cosy... would i be silly to keep both, one for "out" and one for "in"???

dudsville · 24/09/2022 20:45

It's this one

Snowyowl78 · 24/09/2022 21:14

@dudsville haha I often do this for different scenarios

faustina · 24/09/2022 21:23

@dudsville - those jumpers are lovely. I'm very tempted! For the time being though I've ordered this after seeing someone wear it on instagram (don't think I've ever done that before) - and luckily it was on sale! (and I got another 15% as it's my first order from thought)

neveradullmoment99 · 24/09/2022 21:46

Does anyone have the alder check seersucker dress? Just wondering what sizing is like?

OP posts:
neveradullmoment99 · 24/09/2022 21:49

My space check tiered dresses came today. I am clearly a small/medium.
The small was neat on the bust for me but otherwise perfect and the medium was perfect on the bust but a bit too much material on the bottom.
Anway, have kept the medium. Beautiful dress and worn immediately today with cardi, tee under it and my dm mary janes.

happysoju · 24/09/2022 21:50

@dudsville Honestly, I think that's for the best! At these prices now, I think it's hard to justify getting anything at full price.
And the jumper- it's lovely. I usually refrain from buying duplicates because I know there will be something else down the line that I'll want!

@pamshortsbrokenbothherlegs A no-spend October is definitely on the cards for me too. I normally limit myself to only one spendy item a month- but I bought a pair of hereu sandals literally a day before this sale, and just couldn't pass up the skirt!
(What size were you after? I bought the size 10 and can let you know if I end up returning it...)

faustina · 24/09/2022 21:57

@pamshortsbrokenbothherlegs - if it's the sale denim skirt I have an 8 arriving on Monday

happysoju · 24/09/2022 22:07

@neveradullmoment99 Great to know! I missed out on the tiered dress in the small- so hopefully I manage to nab your return in the next sale...

trilobiterevival · 24/09/2022 23:45

Can any of you Toast experts advise me at all?
I have had this image of a perfect jumper in my mind for years, and whilst this is way more expensive than I am likely prepared to spend, I do want to ask if anyone has seen it in real life.
The sleeves are described as 'voluminous', although they don't look that way on the model. This would absolutely put me off, as the mens version has normal sleeves, which I think we deserve also.

happysoju what style did you get? I really like the Mary Janes but ££££. I can’t wear much of a heel, these look great.

Sooverthemill · 25/09/2022 07:07

I sent back the pear gabi trousers. Tried them on and put straight back in the bag. They were utterly awful on me which is such a shame but at least I scratched that itch as I've wanted some for as long as they've sold them. They just looked like cord joggers on me. I wonder if an 8 mightn't have been better but that's it.
