Hm, I'll sit on the jumper decision... your quite right that there's likely to be something else I'd like to have @happysoju. Tags stay on until the snake one arrives.

I really like the two pairs of needlecord trousers i have from Thought, great quality, amazing price, still look new. Your link isn't working for me so I'll have a Google...

faustina · 25/09/2022 07:32

That's a shame @Sooverthemill . There are some alternatives you could try (if you can be arsed) at Cos and finisterre. I am currently scratching a similar denim skirt itch with skirt number 2 arriving tomorrow. Will give up after that though!

@dudsville - some of the things at Thought look really nice! Sorry the link didn't work

That's a pretty colour @faustina and an amazing price!

I've taken the tags off and am wearing the large jumper. I showed my OH. We're both of an age, and he said it is oversized but in an 80's way and he thought it looked good. I will attempt to not keep the medium that's winging is way to me!

Snowyowl78 · 25/09/2022 08:41

I debuted the hemp panel trousers yesterday and they are so comfortable! Loved them. They are quite big though in the 12, I have the size 10 also on the way and tempted to keep both. A bit frivolous but I am tempted since they both ended up being £60 less than I thought!!!

ScottishMouse · 25/09/2022 08:52

That’s a shame @Sooverthemill. Gabis don’t work great for me anymore either. I have a pair that were great a year or two ago, but menopause weight around the middle means they are too tight and just look terrible now. Sad.
I am sending back all my sale purchases. I tried the poplin jacket again this morning, and although it is lovely, I really don’t need a layer that light. I will save my pennies for an autumn jacket, as that is what I am really lacking. Eyeing up the firewood padded one and the tawny brown utility jacket.
i have also realised that I don’t do well buying out of season. I have got a few bargains in previous Toast sales in the wrong season and by the time the right season comes around I have either outgrown them or have found something better.

dudsville · 25/09/2022 09:13

I know what you mean@ScottishMouse for the last few years i had a terrible time with hot flushes, so cardigans were the way forward as i could button or not and shed them quickly if need be. Ive not had a hit flush in ages now, andc the cardigans are fine, but they don't feel cosy enough, which is just great as i now own 9 of them.

happysoju · 25/09/2022 09:36

@MsDastardley I got the floreta sandals. I love the petal cut out details and they're also cheaper than their other styles. Hopefully a win when they arrive!

I my parcel did not turn up yesterday despite showing as out for delivery.

I did go into the Richmond store, tried on a couple of bits but didn't buy. The Pear Gabi's I love but I've come to the conclusion I am in between sizes. I also must be the only person who needs to size up for these. I generally wear an 8 in Toast (including in the trousers I bought last sale) but the Gabi's in a 10 are a smidge too tight on the leg, the 12s huge on the waist. The Olive/Cream checked dress I LOVE but can't justify the price as to be honest the material doesn't feel worth it. One for a sale purchase if it gets reduced.

Overheard staff talking about receiving new stock in about three weeks.

Sisisisi · 25/09/2022 10:22

Nope, me too, I had to size up to a 12 in Gabis to get a loose fit around bum and thighs but they are like comedy trousers on the waist.
I did try taking them in but not great success.
I do wish I had got the 10s as they stretch out.
If I have the energy I might ebay the unaltered ones.
If you are a similar shape to me tiny waist in proportion to hips no idea how Ive avoided menopause tummy Seasalt Waterdance trousers are a great fit and they are half the price of the Gabis plus similar quality and they do different lengths.
I can also vouch for Finisterre.
Lovely quality, the knitwear is beautiful .

Stoic123 · 25/09/2022 11:13

Toast delivery today.

Tiered Space Check Dress- returning as I'm the wrong shape (G cup/shortwaisted/wide hips) for the style. Pondered getting an M but realised S did fit but just didn't look great and I'd be sizing up to get round that. Absolutely gorgeous dress so those looking out for an S - I recommend trying to get one in next sale.

Sturlini Sandals - really didn't think I would be keeping/ordered on a whim but they feel and look so incredibly luxurious. Leather buttery soft. If your feet aren't narrow, size up.

Solovair Loafers (non sale) - don't think I've been so instantly enamoured with a pair of shoes. Size down if in between sizes. Photo - just because I love them.

@ScottishMouse I'm in similar situation re:jackets except I have neither autumn or winter jackets. I happened to come across a COS shop yesterday and bought this: https://www.cos.com/engbp/women/womenswear/coats-and-jackets/product.hooded-boiled-wool-coat-black.1125531001.html?gclid=CjwKCAjw-L-ZBhB4EiwA76YzOf9CpUdnbxrm1WZWYf8iUsMZHYqzWcwN4mUIFF_qxWQSm6qwoBeMlBoCXmgQAvDD_BwE

It's oversized - I bought a Small as that's the largest they had in store. I'm a 14-16 and it fits but is a slightly snug around hips. I think it will continue to look good if I were to ever lose the weight I'm intending to. Slightly unsure about the collar when the hood is up ... but overall I think it will be useful. Hood is detachable.

Only £150. Lots of lovely jumpers in store.

Not buying anything in this Toast sale. This year's colours don't do anything for me.

But might have to try those loafers!

faustina · 25/09/2022 15:43

@Stoic123 - those loafers look like they'd see you through anything (in a good way)
@dudsville I've also ordered a jumper from cos now to assuage my disappointment at none being in the Toast sale. A big relaxed stripey 100% wool. I was worried about them selling out in anything near my size
@Snowyowl78 I tried to look at your things on Depop but for some reason they say my phone number 'doesn't look right' - tried yesterday and today. There is nothing wrong with my phone number! (have tried with and without the zero). Is there some trick I'm missing with that site? If you're selling any Emma tees could you please message me?

dudsville · 25/09/2022 15:44

I just added the blue and white checkerboard night dress. In the last sale i bought the green and navy version and love it so much.

Snowyowl78 · 25/09/2022 16:04

@faustina it might want +447……?
No Emma’s yet but I do have the Delphi ones.

Laska2Meryls · 25/09/2022 16:09

Oh Hell ...has anyone bought anything from Oska?

Laska2Meryls · 25/09/2022 16:10

Totally in love...sadly I have a lemonade budget ..

dudsville · 25/09/2022 16:33

That's cruel, i live that jacket and the matching trousers. Do they ever do sales?

dudsville · 25/09/2022 16:34

Aha, i see that they do...

TerrierOrTerror · 25/09/2022 16:35

@Sisisisi thanks for the Seasalt tip! Will take a look at their trousers. Having had a three cup size growth spurt in the chest area (sounds great, in reality despite no change in dress size a lot of my wardrobe had to be replaced) this year my style and confidence buying clothes has completely changed.

Sorry to hear that.
I hope you find some trousers you like -there is a good deal on the website atm.
They are super plain and functional but dont scream Seasalt.
I went into an Oska @Laska2Meryls and walked straight out!
