They use that colour a lot at Toast don''t they? It looks great with so many other colours and is almost like a neutral - much nicer than grey which almost never suits me

Snowyowl78 · 20/07/2022 16:37

@faustina yes I love it, I have never seen it before.

dudsville · 20/07/2022 18:01

@AFingerofFudge good to hear! I got a delivery notice an hour ago!

Is this Toast - slate love or something else? I do like their slate but I'm not seeing the blue tone to it?

Snowyowl78 · 20/07/2022 18:17

@dudsville its Toast, it’s gone like a deep deep blue/black tone

SmaugMum · 20/07/2022 18:32

@Laska2Meryls , my patchwork indigo jacket finally arrived today (the Royal Mail must’ve cleared the backlog of Toast trivet orders 😅) - and I absolutely and totally love it! Thank goodness that hideous hot weather has gone, to be replaced with typical Yorkshire mizzle and drizzle; I may be able to wear it tomorrow. I’m definitely loving a patchwork vibe as my very favourite Toast garment of the sale is the patchwork Ikat gown.

(And another linen wheat bag set received today; I’m fast running out of people to gift them to this Christmas!)

Laska2Meryls · 21/07/2022 06:59

Sounds good @SmaugMum ... I had looked at it for a while hoping it would be further reduced, but even when it came back in , I couldn't justify the 170 price tag after all my other sale purchases..

Lurking over the Toast lovers thread .
Living the Olive short , waiting to see what you think of it.
The pale blue stripe one looks lovely quality too.

alwayscheery · 21/07/2022 09:11

Sorry, I meant ,Liking the olive shirt.

dudsville · 21/07/2022 11:13

Well this was a farce and might give you all and @TheChattyRat a giggle. I recieved the hemp cotton canvass jumpsuit. You might recall I said I'm fairly eveny split between toros and legs? Well I could not get the damn thing on! Although there is a side zip, the straps are sewn in meaning you have to bend your head under the one side. There was simply no way of getting this on. I kept taking it off and looking at it again to see if I was missing something, and then tried contorting my body to get my head down low enough to get the straps on before pulling them up, which of course is impossible, and gave me the fear that I would be trapped in them and would have to cut my way out. It's a shame as they were a nice fit around the hips. So that £150 back in my pocket! I of course am throughoughly happy with the moss cotton linen trousers that I was unessecarily critical of and have them in the machine for a quick wash.

Theteapotsbrokenspout · 21/07/2022 11:31

Grin At the jumpsuit antics @dudsville .

I bought the moss trousers at the beginning of the sale and find them really comfortable and have worn them loads.

TheChattyRat · 21/07/2022 11:43

😁 @dudsville
in case it helps I went through the top as it were - couldn’t go in through the side but if you go in between both straps then you can hopefully pull them up over your shoulders.
As recently discussed I do have a short body though!

Snowyowl78 · 21/07/2022 11:56

@TheChattyRat haha, I know well the panic of getting stuck in a dress/jumpsuit!

dudsville · 21/07/2022 12:06

I can't even contemplate that! My hips are 12 inches wider than my waist, 10 inches wider than my bust. Basically I form a neat triangle from hip to head. I'll be glad to have the £150 and might even pop to the post office now to get that started!

They're a lovely colour @Theteapotsbrokenspout . I love brown! I like to pair it with grey.

Countmeout · 21/07/2022 15:58

i wonder once we all get used to brown will we find ourselves wanting some. I found myself contemplating a brown jumper for 10 seconds yesterday.

Snowyowl78 · 21/07/2022 16:12

I’ve got some brown already - the gathered sleeve brown tee! It’s nice.

dudsville · 21/07/2022 17:41

Oh the consternation of the brown palette! I stopped wearing black a good decade ago after realising it washed me out. I have a wonderful pair of cords in black, should I ever lose the pandmeic weight, and some toast black skirts and other "slate" things, and an old black denim jacket that has faded similarly, but otherwise dark grey and brown are my "black", so I've loved the brown offerings from toast.

So far my commitment to not shop for clothes outside of Toast sales is holding (for 4 days - what an achievement!). All I'm waiting for now is the ridiculous pink tee, which I actually think i'll keep as the same in other colours is just so comfy and I do suit pink... might wear it with some brown when it arrives!

Thats a no from me!

Stoic123 · 21/07/2022 21:57

Toasties- Patch Pocket Denim Workwear Tunic (with twigs held aloft) - has anyone tried it on?

I keep on getting drawn towards it but then take a closer look and wonder if it will look faintly ridiculous in RL. Also there is the 'take a size down' instruction to contend with (take two sizes down?).

MrsCat1 · 21/07/2022 22:01

And a no from me too! 😃

NoCureForLove · 21/07/2022 23:02

I've seen it in the wild Stoic. It's floppy not stiff denim and looks like you'd need to accesorise with a kiln... 😀

A bit Seasalt? 🤔

Stoic123 · 21/07/2022 23:23

@NoCureForLove - Ha!

The need for a kiln/driftwood/paintpot/ladder/mushroom (delete as applicable) comes with the territory but 'a bit Seasalt' worries me.

Hmmm - might wait a bit until passing a shop.

Thanks!

NoCureForLove · 21/07/2022 23:27

Less "nod to a pottery smock" and more... a pottery smock 😀

Laska2Meryls · 22/07/2022 11:35

Re: Brown.. Never , never..I am still traumatised from the chocolate brown and cream school uniform ( and more yellowy 'cowpat' brown summer school blouse and skirt) I had to wear at out girls grammar school, 50 years ago!

Cant remember which thread it was but "Coastal Grandma" seems to cover the Seasalt style quite well.
Having said that I like how they have styled it with the skirt -lose the twigs though!
