New thread for us all to continue the Toast love ...

Hi all. Just looking for some advice please if that’s ok. I’m thinking of dyeing some of my cotton/poplin shirt dresses which have the white ? corova buttons which I like. I’m worried that the buttons will become discoloured [and I’m too lazy to remove them and sew back on ] Just wondered if anybody has had any success in this. Thanks 😊

@Snowyowl78 i was looking at those too, if it is the stack check cotton trousers. The reviews suggest they run big. I’m tempted especially in this weather!

@TheChattyRat i tried the stack check ones as well and I wasn’t too keen, very voluminous, didn’t do me many favours. I also prefer a gingham check.

@TheChattyRat , are they the ones you're wearing upthread? I thought they had such a cute fit on you and wondered, if it's the same item, whether I'd get the same fit. I ordered my usual trouser size so am expecting the top to be too loose. Fx!

Sorry @RazorToast , did you want them to? Generally natural fibers will accept dye but man made ones won't.

I'm hopeful @TheChattyRat , but my figure isn't as neat as yours.

@ No I was hoping the buttons would remain the same colour but I think you’re right about natural fibres absorbing dye. Thanks.

@Snowyowl78 - Space check trousers run large like the shorts. I'm normally a medium in Toast trousers and I have the small in those.

@RazorToast , I have not dyed anything with the corozo buttons but I think that they would be ok... But one thing else is the cotton poplin, if its not garment-dyed may have polyester thread and that wont dye..
So if you are changing colour take that 8nto consideration and make sure that you would be happy with a potential contrast in stitching ... Sometimes it can look fab though...I dyed a rust linen vest with navy blue...it came out more olive green with the rust stitching staying the same.
.I really like it! But its always a gamble ...

@Laska2Meryls HI Laska thanks so much for that. I hadn’t considered the stitching but it sounds like you had a happy accident so I guess sometimes it’s worth taking a risk as your vest sounds fab. Thanks again.

My final sale order arrived this morning. So pleased I ordered the wheat bag sets recommended up thread, they will make lovely presents and I wish I’d ordered one for myself.

The lichen Carpenter trousers are much heavy than I expected and far too long, which I did already know. I wanted to try them to see if they are worth altering after I missed out on a pair on eBay. Still undecided.

The tie front gingham trousers are quite quirky and although I rather like them I suspect I wouldn’t get much wear out of them. Especially as I’ve already knocked quite a few things over in my bedroom just trying them on . Definitely one to go back.

😂 @Theteapotsbrokenspout , I really liked the look of those tie front trousers but my reason for not trying them the thought of ironing them, they just looked like a faff, and I happen to love ironing! I have one Toast dress that's constructed in such a weird way and it's a bit of a pain to iron so I pay a lot of attention to that now.

My last order arrived and is all going back. Fir dress I quite like but the armholes are incredibly low. Not only could you see my entire bra but you could also see the (admittedly high!) waists of my chafree shorts.

PJs huge top but I had to wiggle the bottoms on.

checked dress with the collar - just on the short side.

had promised myself though out the sale that things had to be perfect with no compromises so back they all went.

My last sale order is still showing as "unfulfilled ". I wonder if I should contact them??

My final order arrived - the slate cotton/linen shirt and it's lovely. Thanks to all who reassured me about the sizing - the 8 is huge - could easily have worn a 6, but it's such a wonderful colour I'm going to keep it. It is really a jacket isn't it? Or an overshirt - but not really a shirt

Shame about the dress @ilovecherries but the no compromises thing is a good philosophy. It seems Toast do tend to cut the armholes low on their sleeveless dresses, it’s put me off as well.

@faustina i am waiting for that shirt today too! Is the colour not like a washed out black? That’s what I imagined. I have the brass already so have high expectations. Glad yours fits!

Mine too @AFingerofFudge , if you ring them I'd be curious to hear what they say, although my last sale purchase was the ridiculous pink tee, and was placed midday on Sunday, so I'm not holding my breath.

I also like your approah to shopping @ilovecherries ,although I am happy to make alterations for the right price.

@Snowyowl78 - it's not washed out black at all - it has a lot of blue in it (sort of blue/black). I have a smock and some trousers in the same shade and it's wonderful (and fades really nicely too). Hope you like yours as much as I like mine!

I was also very worried about my order not being fulfilled for ages but they did get there in the end. Hope yours all do

@dudsville I spoke to someone who confirmed it was still processing and I shouldn't worry. I'm just impatient!

@faustina oooh you’re right, I just got it. It’s a similar colour to the slate gathered sleeve tee I got- lovely! I also got the black cotton dress which I think I will likely keep as it’s so comfy. Definately needed the large, it is small! Large in a dress and a size 10 in the shirt, makes perfect sense!
