@Theteapotsbrokenspout me too. The pecan trousers I bought in the sale are pleasantly loose but by the end of the day I’m having to undo the button!

ScottishMouse · 17/07/2022 10:01

Having a last scroll through the sale here. Only thing that slightly tempts me is the natural Shetland wool lace sweater, but reviews say it is itchy and I think that would annoy me. So I might just save my pennies for the pinafore.

applecatchers36 · 17/07/2022 10:17

Scottish mouse have tried and sent back that sweater. The wool is itchy and it has a high neck so would irritate me and also doesn't work for large norks as didn't hang well. DH said looked frumpy 😆

ScottishMouse · 17/07/2022 10:34

Excellent, thanks @applecatchers36 , you you’ve saved me an order.

dudsville · 17/07/2022 10:46

I also liked that lace sweater when it first came out, but my interest in it faded, like a lot of things. I was certain i had to have one of their demin dresses last year, but the need for it also faded, which is good as it'snever yet made it into a sale. Their prices are good for me, it makes me wait! I'm eager to wear the yellow slate and peddle striped emma, but today is perfect for a cheap french connection cotton shirt dress styled after the boiler jumpsuits, it's loose with comically massive pockets.

Not a great pic but these are the trousers from Kilver Court. Very comfy

Morning.

A final sales purchase of a circular tee in pebble white (as I bought the coal and have been wearing loads). I also bought a couple more wheatbags to replace ones I bought for presents (the original ones will be on rotating neck cooling/ freezer duty over the next two days).

My favourite sales puchases have been the sweaters (red-orange neat and greeny lace yoke).

It's been a long (and expensive) sales for me. Very little appeals so far in the new season so bank account will have time to recover.

To anyone hesitating about slate pinafore - go for it. It's not glamorous but I wore mine again last night and it never fails to make me feel good. I also wear it all year round. I am thinking about buying another one to keep in reserve for when, ineveitably, the first one wears out.

What size for the pinafore please Stoic? I am high street 12 but have the denim version of the pinny in a 10. Does the slate one come up big too?

dudsville · 17/07/2022 11:58

Those are cute @Snowyowl78 , what a find!!!

Those are the cotton/ cashmere culottes from a couple of summers ago.
Ive also got the dress and have worn both loads.
Lovely fabric, so soft.
Nothing else in the sale for me.
I seem to buy night wear and denim mostly.
Planning on keeping some cash back in case anything exciting comes in not holding my breath

Laska2Meryls · 17/07/2022 12:15

When were you there @Snowyowl78 ? Its great isn't it? I must have been there over an hour trying things on.. Definitely want to go back, ( and lucky for my bank that I don't live closer!)

@Laska2Meryls yesterday! Yes it was lovely, lots of new collection as well as old

Snowyowl78 · 17/07/2022 13:02

@Laska2Meryls it made me laugh as they had a few tubs of what looked like a bargain box of accessories but they were all about £90!

Yes! They had something like that when I went, a rummage box of tops etc chucked in ...I thought 'Great, Cheapies!' .. Nope!.... I did get some felt slippers for (just) under 30 though..

Its a strange place though, an old brewery ( and they ate still making cider next door by the smell) .It obviously used to be a much bigger outlet destination, I suppose Covid has done for a lot of it...

@ToastCosILoveIt - yes, similarly large.

I have the denim pinafore too (both in Toast size 12). I've just laid one on top of the other and they are an identical size.

Knowing Toast, the size 10s may differ from each other Grin - but, if you like your size 10 denim fit, would go for the same in the slate.

ToastCosILoveIt · 17/07/2022 15:23

Thank you @Stoic123 , really appreciate the time you took to do that.

Saurus72 · 17/07/2022 15:44

Yes thanks from me too @Stoic123 , it’s really helpful.

Snowyowl78 · 17/07/2022 16:13

@Laska2Meryls weve gone to the Newt! I have spied a few Toasties here!

Snowyowl78 · 17/07/2022 17:19

I actually do live close; might be the start of a regular visit

SmaugMum · 17/07/2022 17:49

@dudsville , in answer to your question, my favourite sale item/s are the patchwork Ikat gown, the linen wheat bag sets, and the Pottery West vases x 2. I ‘think’ that, with the benefit of hindsight, my favourite garment will be the patchwork indigo jacket, which I regretted not having bought in the early days of the sale, because I was convinced it would be further reduced. I was delighted when it reappeared, in my size, on Friday night. I can’t wait for it to arrive. We’re off on our main family holiday this weekend and the jacket will have multiple wears and will make me feel stealthily stylish, while on the beach.

I have those @Snowyowl78 . I wear them a lot in Autumn/early spring. Very comfortable.

AFingerofFudge · 17/07/2022 19:12

I might have a last hurrah with this dress!!
It doesn't have good reviews but I tried it on early in the year when it came out and it suited me quite well. Mostly because I have a fat stomach Blush and it actually starts to flare out just before it gets to my stomach area and so actually looks quite flattering.
Why can I not stop????
