New thread for us all to continue the Toast love ...

I have succumbed to the lure of the truffle gansey, also the bright olive circular tee (anyone bought that?).

There are quite a few things I'd like to try in the new collection. Does anyone else remember when they used to send a 20% discount at the beginning of a new season? I think it might have been for kindred only. I really miss that!!! Would much rather they spent money on us than sending lots of freebies to instagrammers.

I love this kaftan dress here: https://www.toa.st/collections/womens-dresses/products/embroidered-cotton-kaftan-dress-slate

but I could not justify that much for a dress

Theteapotsbrokenspout · 12/07/2022 15:40

@faustina I bought the olive tee at the beginning of the sale, I like it for a loose summer tee. It's an unusual colour for me but I'm trying to extend the colour palette in my wardrobe.

I'm now fighting a desire to try the collared tees, although I'm confused by the buttons extending right across the collar. I shall be glad when the sale is over.

faustina · 12/07/2022 16:07

@Theteapotsbrokenspout - I looked long and hard at the collared tees too. In the end I didn't like how it looked on the model so gave up on the idea

Thanks for the olive tee info! am hoping it will go with other stuff I already have

AmethystMoonShine · 12/07/2022 17:19

I love that Kaftan dress too @faustina but as you, can’t justify that much on a dress.
There have been a couple of similar style tops in the sale for a few seasons now, recently reduced to 140 but they’re dry clean only. I’d want to be able to know I can wash it for that price. Especially for a top I’d wear next to my skin.

faustina · 12/07/2022 17:22

@AmethystMoonShine - hadn’t realised it was dry clean only! Definitely not worth it then

ScottishMouse · 12/07/2022 17:24

I really wish the sale would just end now! I have placed yet another order to try the blue and green pinafores with the belt which reappeared today. If one of them is good I may send back the extortionately expensive slate one. I mean, I could keep both the blue and green for less than the full price one!
@Theteapotsbrokenspout i tried the collared tee but it was odd. I thought it might work with all the buttons done up and folded over but it was too bulky at the neck. And folded down, the collar was quite big and came up high at the back of the neck. I have a short neck, so it might work better on a longer necked person, but personally, I don’t think you’re missing much.

dudsville · 12/07/2022 18:27

I also wish the sale would end now to stop my madness! I've got 4 things coming tomorrow. I've got things in my basket but i decided to base any further purchase on how these go first, and if they sell out or the sale ends before tomorrow then so be it.

dudsville · 12/07/2022 18:31

Re anyone who submitted a request to be a part of that feedback group, do you find yourself wondering what you'll wear to it if invited? I feel a little intimidated thinking I'll need to look Toast-tastic amongst a whole toast group and worrying it might be a weird thing to do, like worrying about whether I'll get an invite to the cool kids party.

Snowyowl78 · 12/07/2022 18:51

@dudsville haha yes, head to toe Toast might be a bit fan girlish I was thinking. It’ll probably be super hot that week though so it might call for shorts!

I have a collared tee, the blue one, I like it. Tried the orange but I thought it looked a bit sloaney/ rugby for my liking.

Snowyowl78 · 12/07/2022 19:07

I’m trying this, could be terrible

AmethystMoonShine · 12/07/2022 19:31

Actually @faustina the dress is machine washable upon checking. So still a sale option. I’d assumed it’d be like the similar top.

faustina · 12/07/2022 19:42

ooh - lovely Amethyst! I've just finished my review of a dress I didn't keep on the website and I mentioned their huge price rises. Maybe someone will listen?

Stoic123 · 12/07/2022 20:21

Another one here who keeps going back into the sale.

After the trivets, I dove back in and now have some blue painted patchwork PJs, the teardrop PJ bottoms and the Coquelicot neat sweater on their way.

Crumbs.

Theteapotsbrokenspout · 12/07/2022 21:08

@ScottishMouse I’ve decided not to bother with the collared tee. I think I’d rather get one (or both) of these from the new collection:

www.toa.st/collections/womens-new-collection/products/collared-loop-back-jersey-sweatshirt-vintage-blue

NoCureForLove · 12/07/2022 21:16

I too am done with the sale. Returned lots to a rl shop today - which in my head means I could justify buying this...

www.toa.st/products/bold-floral-organic-poplin-shirt-dress-hickory

NoCureForLove · 12/07/2022 21:17

It's lovely in rl. Size down - from your usual Toast size.

pamshortsbrokenbothherlegs · 12/07/2022 21:41

I really need the sale to be over as well. After three orders from which only two things were winners (my lovely gingham ruffle collar shirt and the ochre pjs, which are indeed the softest things ever) and many items returned, I was desperate for something else to "stick" so have just placed a ridiculous Hail Mary order - four (!) dresses, the gathered cuff tee again (this time in green which should suit me more) and another pair of pjs. For my bank account and my sanity, it must end soon.

AFingerofFudge · 12/07/2022 22:33

I feel like the recent posts have summed up my last couple of days.....I keep having another look and then suddenly something else catches my eye - the Tangram poplin dress is one of the latest considerations. Perhaps they're keeping the sale going just for us!

AmethystMoonShine · 13/07/2022 08:06

Last dregs of the sale order here too. The green organic cotton raglan sleeve tee which I’m pretty sure I’ll keep as I got the black and have already worn it. I’d regretted not getting the green and size S came back into stock yesterday. Then also the needle cord dress in anthracite. I have the blouse and love the colour and cut and the dress is a great price. I’m also minded to sell a few of my other Toast cord dresses come Autumn so this would fill a gap. Listen to me justifying myself Grin

pamshortsbrokenbothherlegs · 13/07/2022 08:46

I bought that dress in the last sale @AmethystMoonShine , love it. I also wear it open as a duster of sorts over jeans and a top. Makes it a great thing to pack for a shoulder season mini break for that reason!

dudsville · 13/07/2022 08:49

Ah, damn so I'm now trying the slate and aurora red check tie neck dress. With the lovely bud check i do wear it as is, loose, but it looks cute with a belt, in a nice "1950s lady about her day" type look! And i wondered if this other dress might be similar. It's impossible for me to have too much check/gingham/plaid in my wardrobe and i like the colours of this dress but hadn't orbital considered it because of the loose shape. I'm trying two sizes, 1 and 2 sizes down from usual toast size.

And I've ordered the emma tee shirts.🙄

Laska2Meryls · 13/07/2022 09:09

I dont think that I have ever known a Toast sale to go on for so long.. I haven't ordered anything else, and dont think that there is any more I want. But never say never !...
I am getting some good wear out of my dhuggies / short sleeve nightdresses from previous years , atm as floaty garments to wear in the heat .. Even went to the supermarket in one yesterday!

OP posts:
Theteapotsbrokenspout · 13/07/2022 10:29

Received my sale order from last week, the tea caddy, trivet, bandana, place mat and two pairs of pyjamas, plus a random pair of painted falls pyjamas that must have fallen in to my box as well. I had to double check to make sure I hadn't actually ordered them.
I guess I'll have to ring Toast to return these, as I wont be able to get an on-line return label for them.

dudsville · 13/07/2022 10:35

That's a weird situation @Theteapotsbrokenspout , I wonder what they'll do?

I recieved my Oxford cotton easy shirt in white, the full price one. I love the material and it seems like a perfect fit, but it's much weighier cotton than the Lys one and I sized down so I need to try it on again. I'll have to wait for a time when I'm not feeling hot as I want it for layering and there's no way I'm going to attempt that right now!

dudsville · 13/07/2022 10:57

I agree @Laska2Meryls , almost a full thread will be taken up by this sale.
