Before you all say don’t be ridiculous, you’ll look like the bride- there is no bride- it’s a gay wedding. I love this. lOVE it. Could get the floral one but of COURSE I want the cream one. Can I???????

Omg I took a pp's advice and looked at Vivienne Westwood and I'm in love

Kdubs1981 · 10/02/2022 20:40

🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
I presume this is a joke?!

Of course not!!!

Kenworthington · 10/02/2022 20:41

@PurrBox tbh I have only met her once, she seems really nice. But we all love at opposite ends of the country. I imagine she will make a big effort but perhaps in a different kind of way.

It's two men getting married - someone's got to wear something frilly and girlie - so do it! I would.

mistermagpie · 10/02/2022 20:43

I quite like it, I wouldn't choose it myself but if you're a quirky dresser I think the red could work. Definitely not the cream, it just sends the wrong message and even if you look stunning in it (maybe more so if you look stunning it...) I think people would say things behind your back.

Mo1911 · 10/02/2022 20:43

Ask your son and his husband to be, they'll know the tone they're aiming for and hopefully they'll be completely honest with you one way or another. Let us know what they say! 🤞

Etinoxaurus · 10/02/2022 20:43

It’s stunning but agree with pp it could look a little upstagey. Someone posted a beautiful navy dress she was wearing for her wedding. I’ll see if I can find it.

mathanxiety · 10/02/2022 20:43

I agree with @elizabethdraper - the red one would be perfect.

LizziesTwin · 10/02/2022 20:44

Why don’t you order it or go and try it on in a shop somewhere? You only have one life, live a little.

viques · 10/02/2022 20:45

No. Unless you want everyone mouthing “what is she wearing?” behind your back.

LizzieSiddal · 10/02/2022 20:45

That Vivienne Westwood is amazing!! Go for it!

Kdubs1981 · 10/02/2022 20:45
@Kdubs1981 errrrrrm no. Rude!!
What's rude is wearing something that resembles a wedding dress to your daughter in law and son's wedding.

The only thing more inappropriate than a guest wearing this is the mother of the bride or groom doing it.

It's their day

Kenworthington · 10/02/2022 20:45

Right I have sent the floral ruffle one to ds. I have asked for his HONEST opinion. I will report back

WouldYouHaveAproblem · 10/02/2022 20:46

No - bride or no bride that's a show-stealer dress.

Kenworthington · 10/02/2022 20:46

@Kdubs1981 I get that but THERE IS NO BRIDE

Ok. I am guilty of not reading the full thread like a pillock.

Consider me sorry

It's the wine

Viviennemary · 10/02/2022 20:47

No you can't. Cough. Reminder you're not the bride.

RethinkTime · 10/02/2022 20:47

RTFT

BellatrixOnABadDay · 10/02/2022 20:47

I really like the Vivienne Westwood one @Kenworthington, from how you described your style it would look fantastic on you

Krapom · 10/02/2022 20:48

No - especially not in the floral or champagne. I’d be worried that anything too bridal might be mistaken as a comment about the lack of a bride.

pictish · 10/02/2022 20:48

Go for the Vivienne Westwood for sure.

RethinkTime · 10/02/2022 20:49
@Retisestress my son is very outgoing and flamboyant. He’d prob love it tbh. His partner wouldn’t notice if the whole bridal party turned up dressed in bin bags 🤣
I think the floral one would be perfect.
