@TempleofZoom - brilliant - thanks for the pics! I think the Alix pic is already on the website for the tank. I assumed the trousers were the culottes or something or other that they already have on sale

I will definitely be interested in the brass ones, though perhaps the brown/ochre would be more versatile

I like the other things but the price is ridiculous

faustina · 05/03/2022 17:29

look - here they are!

ochre alix

Laska2Meryls · 05/03/2022 17:31

I like the patchwork top and skirt but its not something I'd wear..
The tie dye skirt looks very Bolivian .

I have the Alix in sand ( and slate) from last year which I think are near enough to the brass not to make me lust after them so much , but I may order the pecan flat front trousers now..

I think the shadow on the tank pic makes them look wider than they are.

Countmeout · 05/03/2022 17:42

Are those trousers not the same colour as the ones on the website? Cinnamon?

That’s a new jacket @ScottishMouse, weren’t you hoping for a jacket?

TempleofZoom · 05/03/2022 17:48

There are other items in the tie dye collection.
2 dresses at £495 each and a top at £260.
Some tiny B&W pics and a picture of the items in production.
Beautiful vibrant blues but sadly not within my budget.

ScottishMouse · 05/03/2022 17:49

I was just about to ask about the jacket @Countmeout! @TempleofZoom, can you give me the blurb (and price) on the jacket in the last pic.

ScottishMouse · 05/03/2022 17:50

I have the cinnamon Alix, they are from last year. I think the ochre looks a little darker, but not hugely different. I really like the cinnamon ones, they look great with lots of colours.

There are 2 pics, neither are called cinnamon, although they are actually cinnamon Grin

I went to a Toast shop today, the first visit to an actual shop in many months. I bought the Poplin Patch pocket shirt in blue, a lovely rich mid shade, true to my normal size. I also bought the painted patchwork cotton gown, vibrant colours and I couldn't resist it.

The clothes were beautifully displayed and the overall effect was much more colourful than the online impression of a surfeit of brown.

One of the sales assistants was wearing the orange Cord Workwear dress and she looked fabulous. The new Pintuck Chambray dress was in store but looked very wide to me, and was a bit shorter than most of the dresses. Great colour though.

@MrsCat1- I've tried the indigo striped trousers on but didn't buy.

Gorgeous material- quite thick (good spring/autumn weight). Colour in real life is not too dissimilar from online photo.

Sizing was generous so would go down one size (maybe two) from real life. Very wide legs and would look better with fitted/tucked-in tops but I prefer looser tops (busty and hippy). I looked a bit like Andy Pandy with them on so a no go for me.

Gonegrey31 · 05/03/2022 18:02

ScottishMouse I looked at that blue jacket in store and thought it was lovely. Quite swingy . Very similar to the Hemp blue jacket from last year (? same fabric?) which I have otherwise I’d have been tempted .

ScottishMouse · 05/03/2022 18:03

Sorry @TempleofZoom, I meant the rusty brown one pictured with the blue tie dye skirt. Maybe it is a shirt though?

That hemp one I tried in store, in case anyone is interested. It was not good. The large buttons made it look a bit twee, and not in a good way. Plus it just didn’t sit that well on me. It was a very uninteresting thing, a little Seasalt like (sorry to any Seasalt fans!).

ScottishMouse · 05/03/2022 18:05

Cross posted with you @Gonegrey31. Yes, I think it is the same fabric as the neat hemp jacket and the trousers with a seam down the front. I found the fabric to be its only redeeming feature to be honest. The neat hemp jacket from last year was so much nicer (just too neat for my wide shoulders and bust).

ScottishMouse · 05/03/2022 18:10

@MrsCat1, missed your post earlier. I also tried those trousers, but in the montella colour. There are model pics of those: www.toa.st/products/cotton-linen-twill-wide-leg-trousers-montella
I thought the fabric was a little too thick for the style actually, and felt they stuck out a bit in places as a result. Front pleats don’t work well for me, so they were a no for me. I was also a bit short for them, they were full length on me and would have needed altering. But if you like pleats and are taller than 5’2, then I would say they are worth a try.

Thank you @ScottishMouse I'm tall and so they could work. I think I need to visit a shop to try them. Planning a trip to London next Saturday so may be able to combine with a Toast shop visit.

MrsCat1 · 05/03/2022 18:36

And thanks to @Stoic123 too! Smile

Oh they look lovely on you @billydilly !
billydilly · 05/03/2022 19:22

Thanks! It's quite a heavy fabric but as the weather's cold that's ok. The colours are lovely, very dark blue with an orangey stripe

applecatchers36 · 05/03/2022 19:27

Yes they really do billydilly like the proportions with a neat fitting top
