@Countmeout, that is the shirt that I thought was the different colourway to the sprng check ruffle neck shirt but they are very dfferent (particularly the price) Grin

Laska2Meryls · 02/03/2022 17:01

They have some new scarves and cotton bandanas in...

Laska2Meryls · 02/03/2022 17:02

One silk bandana is £120 though!

Countmeout · 02/03/2022 17:11

Is it that the £215 shirt is jacket weight @ScottishMouse? The other maybe lighter.

The apricot shirt is a much better price .

Surely the Alix will pop up soon.

Laska2Meryls · 02/03/2022 17:14

I already have the black coffee one, I linked to on order ...arriving hopefully tomorrow...

Gonegrey31 · 02/03/2022 17:15

ScottishMouse I agree re the cotton/linen shirt, which I have in blue. The new colour way is the same shirt. How can they justify such a ridiculous price increase?

ScottishMouse · 02/03/2022 17:32

Definitely the same weight @Countmeout, they had one in the Edinburgh store recently which I saw (but didn’t check the price). I even spoke to the salesperson about it, and there was no indication it wasn’t the same one.

ScottishMouse · 02/03/2022 17:34

@Gonegrey31, I have the blue but I haven’t worn it. I can’t quite figure out what to wear it with. I should have gone for the pecan, which I think would have gone better with denim. But that is sold out now in my size.
Also sold out are the shorts, which I’m sure have only been around for a few weeks. I was planning on ordering them later in the season.

Gonegrey31 · 02/03/2022 17:35

Perhaps because that shirt sold out so quickly they felt it would do so at a higher price ? My loyalty to the brand is coming under strain to be frank …

Countmeout · 02/03/2022 17:41

Well it’s a mighty big price increase if that is their thinking. I think I have similar from last year but it’s linen coloured. I haven’t worn it much as it makes me a bit boxy I think but have discovered it’s best over another shirt ( as they show it) certainly won’t be buying at the increased price.

Theteapotsbrokenspout · 02/03/2022 18:07

Can’t believe some of the things have sold out so quickly, I was hoping to get the shorts as well @ScottishMouse but I really couldn’t motivate myself to buy them in January.
Is this the new Toast policy, only make a small number of everything and sell at high prices to make them exclusive?

MrsCat1 · 02/03/2022 18:17

Hoping that tomorrow brings lots of lovely new things in other colours as I'm really not impressed with most of the new stuff that has just appeared. I've been wearing Toast for 20 years and my wardrobe is about 40 percent Toast. But I'm struggling to find anything I want from Toast at the moment....

TempleofZoom · 02/03/2022 20:53

@ScottishMouse

Oh my goodness. I spotted this and was about to order the slate colour: www.toa.st/products/cotton-linen-twill-shirt-slate I had seen a rogue one in Edinburgh, and have the blue stripe version from earlier this season. But wait…the stripe version was £125 and this is £215! I assumed it must be a mistake, so I got on the chat to ask. Apparently this is the correct price and reflects manufacturing costs! Whaaaaaaat? There is no way I am paying that much for it. How ridiculous!
Good Lord! Thats a price hike! Also those blue check trousers seem to have a sort of skirt attached or is it me? I really dont like those square collars at all. I seem to remember then being popular on little girls dresses in the 80s. I had a look at some of the tshirts in store. Nice enough but not £65-£80 nice.
ScottishMouse · 02/03/2022 21:17

I wondered that about those trousers too @TempleofZoom. I’m going to see if I can look at them in store. They might be great on or they might be awful, it’s hard to tell.

Countmeout · 02/03/2022 21:22

That would be great if you can see them @ScottishMouse. I thought they looked interesting.

Anyone notice this dress/top. Found it while forensically perusing accessories 😬

Also picture I’ll attach below separately from Instagram. Looks slightly more hopeful.
Obviously I have too much time on my hands

ScottishMouse · 02/03/2022 21:34

I spotted that @Countmeout. Looks nice. I can’t do sleeveless though (thankfully for my credit card!).
I will report back on the trousers (and anything else worth reporting back on).

Laska2Meryls · 02/03/2022 21:47

Templeofzoom I think those blue check trousers are Thai fisherman style, and wrap around.. similar to this style

faustina · 02/03/2022 21:58

@TempleofZooom and Laska - if you go to the website and scroll through trousers, the check ones are right next to the fisherman ones

TempleofZoom · 02/03/2022 22:09

Thanks@Laska2Meryls and@faustina

I actually like them with the check dress(?)over but I dont think I could cope with all that fabric.

TempleofZoom · 02/03/2022 22:26

The pics on Insta look much more Spring like and not what I saw yesterday in store which was very autumnal.
Im wondering if they are trying to sell the autumnal stuff( ?delayed) before the new spring stuff ?
Fingers crossed for some lovely things.

neveradullmoment99 · 02/03/2022 22:31

I don't like the square collars at all either. They are quite like little girls dresses. Just not for me. The prices are all over the place. I agree!!

I could not cope with all that material either. They aren't for me either.
