So ordered the toast gingham piccolo culottes. No email to say about dispatch. No tracking. Thought maybe they were oos. So great, door goes. The arrive! Yay!!
I try them on and the pockets have been sewn back to front. Seriously? This is twice that is happened with a Toast item. Once with a dress.🤬🤬🤬🤬🤬🤬

Has this happened to anyone else?

SnowyOwl what size would you usually take in M&S jumpers? I may need the XL in that jumper then.. 🙄 Toast sizes drive me nuts. I have things ranging from XS to XL and they are all the same size.

Its really not good enough Never. I noticed that a shoulder seam was coming undone in my new tunic and it had a flaw in the fabric..
I recorded but new one also has a flaw but this time its an actual hole rather than an odd bit of weave in the linen.. it also has strangely tight armpit holes.
I shouldn't have to do this for £125 but I may just stitch the seam up as its oos in my size now..

@Laska2Meryls hmm I’m not sure I have any M&S jumpers. But I bought the green and yellow lace yoke one in the sale in M and L and had to have the L. My other toast jumpers are all medium if that’s any help. The medium could be ok in this new one but I think I will prob swap for a large. It won’t let me post a pic of that yoke jumper but it’s the one that was either in green or yellow in the winter sale.

Thanks .. just using M&S as size comparison... I have the yellow yoke one in L as well ...We are probably about the same size then .(.I have wide shoulders but sadly more norkage than Id like..(

@Laska2Meryls I would def go bigger then, as it is short so more boobs would make it shorter I reckon

Ah that has put me off.. I do wish they'd make their jumpers longer....

Managed to grab a pair of the space check shorts in a small size early yesterday and they arrived today. Does anyone have them, or has anyone tried them? I’m not sure how they should look. I am short so they are almost to my knees. I haven’t worn shorts in years, and then it was denim cut offs, so these are a very different look. I can’t tell if they look good or like something my 70-something mum would pick up in M&S. Maybe I need to shorten them, although I’m not sure I could be bothered. They fit well and are very comfy, but I’m not sure I would wear them a lot. I feel like they might need some considered styling to avoid the frump factor. Hmmmmm….

Also ordered the tiered dress in the same fabric, but that is going straight back. Far too much fabric in the bottom half, and very long, it is trailing on the floor at the back.
But on a happier note, I got the kindred scarf too. It’s really lovely. Not a fabric I would have chosen myself, but I think it will go with quite a lot in my wardrobe.

Toast magazine has arrived.
The Alix are in there, a sort of rust brown in the picture.
Colours are stated to be Brown Ochre, Brass and Slate £175
The Patchwork top and skirt are there, lovely but £215 for the top and £325 for the skirt.
There is a tie dye skirt coming in at £435
Made by artisans of course but really ?

Do you mean there are two new, different colours of Alixes coming? They already do them in slate I think, but I didn't buy because I have another style in the same fabric and colour.

I do actually wear shorts quite often when it's warm enough and I prefer long ones, but in a different style - more like tropical menswear (I pinched my father's vintage pair as a teen and wore them til they fell apart)

No magazine here. Did there look to be any other good trousers that are not online yet @TempleofZoom? I am searching for some everyday trousers with an elasticated (or part elasticated) waist. Tried these in store the other day, but they were far too long and just not that flattering on the bum:

@faustina, I love the fit of the shorts on the waist and hips/bum, which I really struggle with in bottoms, so am leaning towards keeping them. I need to try them on with some more things, it probably doesn’t help that my legs are currently almost blue they have been hidden away for so long!

What colour is Brass ? (in the Alix) ?

Scottish Mouse i think leg colour may be a problem with the space dye shorts f r me , the best I can ever get to ( after three weeks in Greece) is a sort of dirty cream ! for that reason I tend to go for darker shorts .. Do you tan well?

£435 for a skirt!.. it would have to be rare wild silk made by some really special endangered silkworm only found in the wilds of somewhere really exotic made by some really special artisans hand weaving by Himalayan moonlight for me to even consider it ( and then I wouldnt) ...

@Laska2Meryls, I don’t tan at all! But I have given up caring really. I may still keep the shorts and go for the ghostly look.

They told me in store it is the same colour as the new very expensive cotton linen shirt (hopefully not as expensive, although the euro price on the Irish stockist’s website does suggest they may be about £175-180).

I suppose £175 for the Alex was more or less as expected. I can’t decide if I want a pair or not. I do have lots to go with the brass, but I find I need to iron them every time out which is a bit of a pain. It’s a bit annoying they have them in Dublin and not available here.
I think the gathering on the shorts was the bit I wasn’t sure of so held off ordering. I think without a tan it’s very difficult to judge , I find a bit of colour helps everything. I am allergic to fake tanning products but do use the wash off stuff on my legs. I would tan a bit if I was away but not sure I will be.

I saw the shorts in store, not very impressed at that price.
I would call them tap shorts, fitted waist and sort of flared.
My legs remain covered like a Victorian at all times
