I love it - not in orange - but otherwise love it. And yes, makes my smarter coats much more useful.

LivingDeadGirlUK · 19/01/2022 15:31

@SmashingBIouse

I have a sort of black knitted/faux fur trimmed version of this I bought years ago and I swear it's one of my best ever purchases. I wear it with all my non-hooded coats in winter - much cosier than a scarf and hat and keeps me dry if it rains or snows. I love mine!
That sounds more like it, where did you get it from?
SmashingBIouse · 19/01/2022 22:28

@LivingDeadGirlUK I bought it so long ago I'm not even sure where I got it - H&M maybe? It was about a fiver in the sale and it's one of the items in my wardrobe I use most. It looks a bit like this but with a fur trim and about 200 quid cheaper!

mathanxiety · 20/01/2022 00:08

And how would you class "fascist chic"? That's offensive to me. What about sneering at COS clothing how would you describe that?

The thread title is 'Wtf, Cos? W. T. F.' and I responded in similar vein, i.e. critical, with a soupçon of flippant.

In plain language, no frills - I find much of Cos clothing unappealing. I feel the Cos look relies too much on exaggerated features that tend to be more toned down in other brands at a similar price point and geared to similar tastes/demographics.

I have this. It’s not in place of a hood or to protect me from the rain, it’s in place of taking a hat and scarf with me. Keeps my neck warm, and I can put it up to keep my head and ears cosy. If it rains I put my puffa hood up. I hate the bulk of scarves and hats but still like to be cosy. Also unlike a scarf and hat it fits into a tiny handbag or pocket if I’m too hot. It also looks quite cool with a wool coat. Which I wouldn’t wear in the rain usually anyway. I think they’re great things!

Forgot pic

Wtf, Cos? W. T. F.
sofato5miles · 20/01/2022 06:01

Meh, i like it

That does look really nice, although not waterproof and as you say £200 is a little much for a hood XD

Grasping · 20/01/2022 08:07

@SmashingBIouse

I also have a similar knitted cashmere snood I wear but this is different.

It depends on your lifestyle and job etc. The Cos one works for me.

Bemoreme21 · 20/01/2022 11:32

@Grasping Ordered! Very excited to wear all my impractical hoodless coats.

ArseInTheCoOpWindow · 20/01/2022 18:17

Laura Kunssberg has just been on the news. She had something very similar worn with a tailored coat.

SmashingBIouse · 20/01/2022 18:51

FYI - I was in Primark today and they have something very similar to the Cos one in black for £4 in the sale. Also some knitted ones in chocolate brown.

I bought the pretend Cos one Smile

MorrisZapp · 21/01/2022 08:14

I've just bought a fleece lined mega snood from Primark, six quid and it's bloody lovely. Would be perfect for kipping on the train too, so soft and snug to nestle up in.

UserBot999 · 21/01/2022 08:15

Good buy! I liked this. The OP posted it to mock it! Her prerogative but i often where an nf thermoball under a smart wool coat when i go out. It works well. I dont worry ill freeze to death but i look like i wore a smart coat.

Soubriquet · 21/01/2022 08:21

The model looks done with this shit

Gwenhwyfar · 23/01/2022 14:36

@timshortfforthalia

Oh I really like - thanks for posting the link OP.

I have a couple of smart coats that I love but are hoodless and too gappy round the neck. This solves this - and small enough to fold down into bag if not needed. The orange is vile obvs, but love the navy and black.

Buying a coat with a collar would also solve your problem!
