I like them, although I don’t like the colour of this one for me.

I’ve seen them everywhere this year - including knitted/crochet balaclavas and hoods - they’re a trend at the moment.

Exhausteddog · 15/01/2022 08:46

It reminded me of a life jacket on a plane Blush

I think its the puffiness of it. I can go with the idea of a knitted one, I think.

Amelion · 15/01/2022 08:47

Not quite the same as the Cos one but here’s an article on the knitted ones: www.vogue.co.uk/fashion/article/knitted-hood-balaclavas-trend

Mollysocks · 15/01/2022 08:49

Isn’t this just a polyester snood?

mynameiscalypso · 15/01/2022 08:49

I think a knitted one is a bit more pointless personally; won't be as good in the rain.

Thatsplentyjack · 15/01/2022 08:51

I had something like this for ds2 when he was younger, but it was knitted like a polo neck jumper and navy blue. Was actually really handy for a 2 year old that wouldn't keep a scarf on. Don't think I would wear one though 🤣

TheYearOfSmallThings · 15/01/2022 08:52

I have reached the age where my one thought is "That looks cosy".

SheldontheWonderSchlong · 15/01/2022 08:53

Are snoods making a comeback then? I made one in 1985 following a Blue Peter tutorial using stockinette fabric dyed cerise pink. I thought it was the bee's knees! Should I be making another one?!

TheYearOfSmallThings · 15/01/2022 08:54

And my second thought is "Why are so many women's coats designed so that a second garment is required to actually keep the wearer warm".

RobotValkyrie · 15/01/2022 08:57

@minipie

Model’s expression says it all.
Yes Grin
Keeping2ChevronsApart · 15/01/2022 08:57

Even the model is like 'can't believe I agreed to model this'

CherryFlavourOwl · 15/01/2022 09:00

Looks like something you'd throw to someone to save their life if they were drowning

ESGdance · 15/01/2022 09:22

Does it come with a whistle and built in torch? Remember not to inflate whilst still in the cabin

Bitbloweyoutthere · 15/01/2022 09:27

I thought you meant these:
Primary looked like it had a serious moth infestation last week when I went in.

Wtf, Cos? W. T. F.

That looks like a bonnet fashioned from a bin liner

nanbread · 15/01/2022 09:29

@VodselForDinner

I kind of like it Blush

Handy when you want a layered look without being too bulky.

Agree. I wouldn't buy it because I'd prefer to wear an actual coat if it's cold but if someone gave it to me I can see myself wearing it
AtrociousCircumstance · 15/01/2022 09:32

But…it’s useful! You want to wear your gorgeous wool coat. It might rain but you don’t want to don your anorak. Pop the hood in your bag for maybes.

(I may already have one Grin )

Hummingbirdcake · 15/01/2022 09:33

I can sort of see where they’re coming from. ‘Smart’ coats can be a bit draughty around the neck.

TwoLeftSocksWithHoles · 15/01/2022 09:33

I think at that price it should at least have a pair of mittens attached - on elastic.

ArseInTheCoOpWindow · 15/01/2022 09:35

I usually wear a scarf 😂 never thought of a smart wool coat with the hood off my puffer jacket.
whowhywhenwhat · 15/01/2022 09:43

Nah, what you need is this. Far more practical in the rain. You can't wear a woolly hat under if cold. Grin

Wtf, Cos? W. T. F.
LiveFromNewYork · 15/01/2022 09:53

I think it's an extension of that (often Uniqlo) gilet under a smartish coat look that's been quite in of late. I'm a sucker for anything like this that gives versatility to existing garments. But all my winter coats already have hoods.... I got a couple of the wool ones in Primark only they are synthetic so not especially warm.
