for crafty folk i have knitting patterns vintage ones that are like that to make, can be good when you have a low necked coat or top

Bluebluemoon39 · 15/01/2022 14:53

I quite like it!

AlwaysinaFlap · 15/01/2022 16:06

It's like these things. We used to wear them to school in the 1960s.

Wtf, Cos? W. T. F.

Rainbowshit · 15/01/2022 16:24

It's just a variation on a snood surely? I actually quite like it.

KiloWhat · 15/01/2022 16:52

I really want one now

vintage21 · 15/01/2022 17:13

Rainbowshit yes bit like a snood but covers more below the neck whereas a snood is like just round the neck
AlwaysInAFlap yes that is like the one I have a pattern for you can knit most patterns i have with it in are 1950s or 1960s

Beachgirl33 · 15/01/2022 19:55

Oh takes me right back to the 70s when my granny used to knit me balaclavas, mock polo neck jumpers, hats with holes for my bunches. It was a good look Grin

UsernameInTheTown · 15/01/2022 20:36

Ooo super, a nylon head foreskin. Just what I've been after.

DedalusBloom · 15/01/2022 22:13

I quite like it, especially the orange! Looks great with that pale coat.

Hats with holes for bunches - cool!

I have one in navy from the sale a couple of years ago, very handy item!

I bloody love Cos, most of the clothes are pretty normal when you go into the actual shop.

MrsBerthaRochester · 16/01/2022 01:19

A hood off a puffer jacket does not go with a wool coat! That thing is minging and giving me serious handmaid vibes. I would prefer to be a bit cold but look good!

TakeMe2Insanity · 16/01/2022 07:22

We were in Finland in October and these (and variations) were in every single clothes shop. Clearly a big thing thete.

rrhuth · 16/01/2022 07:32

I also like it, it makes a smart coat much warmer and also if you get a bit overheated you can shove it in your bag.

brogueish · 16/01/2022 07:41

I love this, especially in orange. Actually nearly bought it when it first appeared on the website, dithered over the price and it sold out. Glad it’s back in stock, thanks for posting OP.

This!

What is the point of it, to keep your head dry when it rains as well? If you're wearing a wool coat then the rest of the coat will just get wet anyway?

Wear a normal scarf or knitted snood with a wool coat and carry an umbrella. Or wear an actual coat (preferably waterproof) with a hood?

I think it looks very muddly- or very try-hard- with a wool coat.

I never understood the love for Cos on here, shapeless clothes for shapeless people.

HalfShrunkMoreToGo · 16/01/2022 08:34

@VodselForDinner they have those in primark if you wanted something a lot cheaper

Actually, the models are shapeless. Cos clothing looks much better on those with a shape.

What's a shapeless person? I'm tall and slim. Scandi brands fit me well. Love COS.

Shapeless meaning what exactly? I’m size 10, curvy and short and shop primarily from Cos. Obviously I don’t suit all styles of their clothes but that is the case for every other shop I enter too.
Justilou1 · 16/01/2022 17:22

Thanks @RedHot22!!!!
Good Gravy!!! A when a hoody and a balaclava meet and fall madly in love they get married and eventually this happens!

MorrisZapp · 16/01/2022 17:34

Bloody good idea! I love it.

Bit baffled by the cashmere one though. Is it to go under a crew neck?

MorrisZapp · 16/01/2022 17:36

Just thinking a handy person could craft one from an old hooded coat, probably even a kids one. I'll keep an eye out in the charity shop for coats with good hoods 😊

EishetChayil · 16/01/2022 17:49

I'm sure COS designs their clothes with the aftermath of a nuclear apocalypse in mind.
