I don't like my lip fillers, my top lip turns up! :(

I had my lips enhanced and when the practitioner asked what I'd like, I said I wanted them notably bigger.

I was happy with the volume but not the technique. They looked nice from the front but stupid from the side.

In order to give the illusion of fuller lips they positioned one of the injections so that it turned my top lip upwards! Sad

Please tell me my side profile will return to normal? It has been about 4.5 months since having the procedure and although the volume of my lips is reducing, the top lip still turns upwards.

Picture?

applepineapple · 22/09/2020 12:47

Could you get a consultation to get them dissolved?

Plussizejumpsuit · 22/09/2020 12:49

I think we need a pic. If the fillers are non permanent they should return to normal. I did research as I fancied a tiny bit of lip filler. I didn't know this was a thing. Did they say they'd done this? Could you go back and ask about the fading time?

Lipdissapointment · 22/09/2020 12:50

I've attached a picture, hopefully it works.

Please no cruel comments, I'm extremely down on myself as it is. I know they look ridiculous.

To have them dissolved would cost £100 at the place I had them filled. I don't want to go back there.

Many other places that dissolve lips won't dissolve another clinic's work.

Jesus, get them dissolved ASAP. Lips could return to normal but only with the filler gone. Either find somewhere that will or go back to the clinic.

Lipdissapointment · 22/09/2020 12:52

Before he did the procedure he said as I wanted notably plumper lips than I had he could use a certain technique which would make them appear fuller than they would be, this was the technique he meant.

I agreed at the time as I didn't envision this being the result.

Floralnomad · 22/09/2020 12:55

Just get it dissolved , I can’t see why you don’t want to go back to the original place as you got exactly what you asked for it’s hardly their fault that you don’t like what you asked for .

Lipdissapointment · 22/09/2020 12:57

I did not ask for my top lip to look like that, nobody would.

I've seen plenty of before and afters and none look like that.

AgentProvocateur · 22/09/2020 12:58

I think he’s done what you asked for, but I would pay the £100 and get it dissolved.

DerbyshireGirly · 22/09/2020 12:59

Don't all lip fillers look like that? You see it everywhere at the moment.

HolyForkinShirt · 22/09/2020 13:02

It looks the same as every other lip filler job I have seen to be honest. Not to my taste, but no different to the people I see.

What does it look like front on?

For the sake of £100, I would just get them dissolved.

Lipdissapointment · 22/09/2020 13:05

I was hoping they'd dissolve themselves without me having to spend more money given how its already been 4.5 months and they still look daft it looks like I'll need to pay the £100 after all.

Part of the reason I didn't want to return there is because I feel embarrassed, if people here think I've got what I asked for then they'll think so aswell.

This is certainly not what I wanted though, bigger lips of course but not ones that turn upwards at that angle.

OP posts:
Lipdissapointment · 22/09/2020 13:06

I've sent a message to the clinic just now asking what the process is for having them dissolved because I don't like the side profile.

Its all just embarrassing. Never again Sad

Scweltish · 22/09/2020 13:07

I think you need to go back to the clinic and get them dissolved. I know you’re annoyed at them as you don’t like the results, but he’s told you what he was going to do and you agreed before understanding what he was doing. Tbh all lip fillers look horrendous to me, but these don’t look particularly worse than the ones I’ve seen lately

Fungster · 22/09/2020 13:08

I agree that if you're unhappy you should get them dissolved - but in the picture they don't look any different to other lips I've seen. So although you are very conscious of them, I'm sure the people around you aren't.

MoltonSilver · 22/09/2020 13:08

I also think that all lip fillers look like that. I see it everywhere.

Have you tried any other places or are you just going by what others have said about them not reducing the work of another clinic? It might be worth enquiring.

If the place that you went to initially is reputable, I'd be inclined to just pay the 100 pounds.

workshy44 · 22/09/2020 13:08

I think all lip fillers, apart from maybe v subtle doses, look like this. I met someone at dinner that had the same look, its the reason why it is one thing I would never do, it never ever looks natural unless you go for a minor dose I think.
I would get them dissolved at the same place. I wouldn't worry too much, literally every second person I see under 30 has the same look these days !

AvoidingRealHumans · 22/09/2020 13:09

I'm glad you've messaged them, it doesn't need to be awkward. You got what you asked for but you aren't happy with it.
I would just play it that after 4.5 months you would like your normal lips back. I hope you get it sorted

Heffalooomia · 22/09/2020 13:10

If you've only just had them done it might be better to wait for the initial swelling to subside, I agree that the turn up looks extreme but I would still wait a bit

ChaChaCha2012 · 22/09/2020 13:10

Part of the reason I didn't want to return there is because I feel embarrassed,

More embarrassed than you are now?

Mooey89 · 22/09/2020 13:11

OP I have fillers and they don’t look like that. I do only have 0.5ml though at a time which I think reduces the risk of it looking like that. Have them dissolved if they are affecting your confidence or they should go down in a month or so, mine only last 6ish months usually x

Scweltish · 22/09/2020 13:11

Don’t be embarrassed to go back. If you don’t like them then you don’t like them. They don’t necessarily have to do a bad job for you to regret getting it done. They could do the procedure perfectly and some people still won’t like how they look after. That’s why they do a dissolving service

FancyPuffin · 22/09/2020 13:12

They shouldn’t look like that at all. I’m sorry you’ve had that happen Sad. A competent practitioner should have been able to enhance your lips without pushing them out like that. Ultimately, your lips can only take so much volume and the skill is to to place the right amount in the right areas while keeping the natural shape and flatness. It’s really important to choose the right qualified person. Some people actively choose the fake very enhanced look which can distort other people’s image of what they’re supposed to look like.

It really would be best to invest in having them dissolved by a different provider and starting again. You can achieve instantly massive lips without affecting the shape dramatically. It’s better to build up slowly over a period of time.

KaptainKaveman · 22/09/2020 13:13

I've never seen a person with filled lips who looked good.
Sorry you're miserable OP, but hopefully you can learn from this.

Anotherlovelybitofsquirrel · 22/09/2020 13:13

Oh Op you poor thing. I have filler in my top lip as it's tiny if not and this is not normal. Hope you get it sorted.
