I don't like my lip fillers, my top lip turns up! :(

I had my lips enhanced and when the practitioner asked what I'd like, I said I wanted them notably bigger.

I was happy with the volume but not the technique. They looked nice from the front but stupid from the side.

In order to give the illusion of fuller lips they positioned one of the injections so that it turned my top lip upwards! Sad

Please tell me my side profile will return to normal? It has been about 4.5 months since having the procedure and although the volume of my lips is reducing, the top lip still turns upwards.

@Lipdissapointment If you don’t mind me saying, try and be kind to yourself. You sound like you may be being tough on yourself when you really haven’t done anything awful. Think about how you would talk to a friend in the same position. Honestly, in 5 years time you will hardly remember getting your lips done. Look after yourself.

Hyperfish101 · 22/09/2020 14:32

You looked lovely before.

mumtobabygilrl · 22/09/2020 14:33

Where did you get lips done in the middle of lockdown??

Writersblock2 · 22/09/2020 14:35

My lip filler doesn’t look like this. How many days in are you? Because it will settle. If it’s still like this after a couple of weeks then yes, dissolve.

Ernieshere · 22/09/2020 14:38

I hope you get everything sorted & feel better about them Flowers

RepDom21 · 22/09/2020 14:38

You looked like you had a nice lips before the filler.

I think what is slightly bad is probably how much you had in your lips rather than they look a funny shape. I think they are just too big. Not many Caucasian people would have naturally full lips like that OP.

They are not hideous by any means though.

I've just looked back at my appointment confirmation and it was early June, so not as far back as I initially thought.

The clinic was allowed to be open according to the page. I was due to go before lockdown but had to postpone.

I've posted my appointment confirmation incase anybody thinks I'm not being genuine.

So yes I've had them for a lesser amount of time than I thought, but still several months.

The actual date of my procedure was June 12th.

I don't like my lip fillers, my top lip turns up! :(

My daughter is an aesthetics practitioner, and she says that there should be no charge for dissolving as the placement used is poor. Also, the Russian technique is better to avoid this situation.

daisyjgrey · 22/09/2020 14:44

If it were me I wouldn't go back to the original clinic. They haven't left you with good fillers, why would their dissolving process be any better?

Check out Dr T Jabbar on Instagram. She's a highly skilled and qualified dentist who does some amazing aesthetics work.

Atalune · 22/09/2020 14:46

op you don’t need to defend yourself here. Flowers

2bazookas · 22/09/2020 14:47

wherever you go, FGS ask them to provide before and after pics of their own clients to demonstrate what you'll get. That includes, dissolving.

If they can't/won't provide pics than get up and walk.

loutypips · 22/09/2020 14:51

I've seen plenty of before and afters and none look like that.

Actually quite a few do in real life! I've seen loads of women with fillers that look exactly like that. Goodness knows how they are happy with them.

Get them dissolved. You asked for bigger, that's what you've ended up with.

lhmua12 · 22/09/2020 14:54

Jesus Christ. Genuinely some of the worst lips I’ve seen.

Please ignore these useless posters that are trying to suggest that the appearance of your lips is normal as “all lip filler looks like that”. It really doesn’t, it’s a bad job in every possible way and their personal negative opinions of filler is clouding their judgement. Lip filler isn’t supposed to be placed past your vermillion border like that. They’re asymmetrical and overfilled and look ridiculous. They look swollen and duck-like, yet it’s been almost 5 months since the procedure - that’s down to bad technique, it’s not “standard fare”.

No professional cosmetic doctor would allow their patients to walk around looking like that. It is possible to increase the size of your lips without any of these negative aesthetics.

Frankly he should dissolve it AND redo it free of charge. I would push for a hyalase session at his expense at the least. Legally you can take him to court to recover your costs as he has done a substandard job. It’s a service carried out without reasonable care or skill, contrary to what MN wants you to believe about dermal filler.

Etinox · 22/09/2020 14:59

@Heffalooomia

OP, you are a lily and no guilding is necessary🌺
Lovely affirmation Take it on board you silly sausage Flowers
Atalune · 22/09/2020 15:00

hey! @lhmua12**

Let’s not be unnecessarily nasty, the op has disclosed her fragility and the reasons for the fillers. She already feels rubbish.

I assume the harsh tone of this comment is directed at the practitioner but you've come off as insensitive a little

Did you @ the wrong person? Where exactly did I critique the OP’s reasoning for getting filler? I have lip filler myself.

I think others are being unnecessarily nasty by trying to somehow suggest that all lip filler looks like this and that the clinician gave her what she asked for. That’s gas-lighting surely? I can certainly see why OP is unhappy with the results.

Lipdissapointment · 22/09/2020 15:09

I'm still waiting for a response from the practitioner that did it. The best case scenario for me would be for them to offer to dissolve them free of charge after I send photos.

The price list states that dissolving costs £100.

I'm dreading the exchange I'll have to have with him because I just know he'll say "well that's what you wanted"

I admit I wanted visibly big lips but not duck ones.

I'm the only client of theirs that looks like this, based on their online gallery. They did say to me beforehand that their clients usually only ask for subtle enhancement, not big lips. I stood out in that regard.

I think there's a huge difference between big lips and lips that look like mine though isn't there? I've seen plenty of photos online of people with lips bigger than mine that don't look like that from the side.

I sent a photo to another clinic for advice and they said it looks like they've turned up because they've been over filled, but the real reason they've turned up is because of the purposeful placement of filler to give me the look they thought I wanted.

To the PP who mentioned Russian lips, this place didn't offer that technique at the time of me going there. They've since posted a few pictures of work that looks quite like Russian lips but they've given it a different name.

It is really affecting my confidence to the point I don't want to show my face at my son's nursery out of sheer embarrassment.

My partner has been doing pick ups and drop offs so I don't have to face seeing the staff and other parents.

That in itself is raising eyebrows as the nursery manager said yesterday that she hasn't seen me in ages and am I ok Blush

Oh poor you. I had some lumpy filler dissolved in my nose to mouth lines. There are still a few small lumps and it's about three years since I had it so it can really last!

The Consultant Clinic do a lot of repairing bad filler. I'm not suggesting you should go there but have a look at the before and after on Instagram for some reassurance (although they do refill them properly).

The stuff they dissolve with works quickly so you'll be sorted soon! Smile

But they are the experts and should have guided you and advised you. It's their duty to do so. Don't blame yourself!
doadeer · 22/09/2020 15:27

You looked so so much better before! Honestly.

mumtobabygilrl · 22/09/2020 15:38

@Lipdissapointment just wondered as if they had been breaking any rules you may be able to use that to your advantage

Lipdissapointment · 22/09/2020 15:41

I think I looked better before too, I wish I had never bothered.

As far as I know they hadn't broke any rules opening the clinic. I read a clause somewhere online that stated clinics could open if their procedures were beneficial for mental health or something like that, I assume that's how they managed to re-open when they did.

I'm so bloody miserable about it all.

Still no reply, they're not in a hurry to speak to me are they.

OP posts:
Lipdissapointment · 22/09/2020 15:44

I forgot to ask..

When I have them dissolved they will only dissolve the fuller won't they?

I'm worried that the dissolving agent might dissolve some of my naturally occurring hyaluronic too, leaving me with next to no lips.

Mind you I think even that would be preferable atm.
