I don't like my lip fillers, my top lip turns up! :(

I had my lips enhanced and when the practitioner asked what I'd like, I said I wanted them notably bigger.

I was happy with the volume but not the technique. They looked nice from the front but stupid from the side.

In order to give the illusion of fuller lips they positioned one of the injections so that it turned my top lip upwards! Sad

Please tell me my side profile will return to normal? It has been about 4.5 months since having the procedure and although the volume of my lips is reducing, the top lip still turns upwards.

you can’t achieve instantly massive lips* that should say.

Lipdissapointment · 22/09/2020 13:15

These are my lips from the front.

They're not everybodies cup of tea I know.

I don't actually mind how they look face on, it's just the side profile.

Thank you for reassuring me that it's not too uncommon. I don't know anybody else to have had fillers so all I have to go on are before and after pictures online, none of which showed duck lips from the side Blush

If you don't like it I would get it dissolved because I had my last procedure of 0.5ml just over two years ago and my lips still haven't gone back to the way they were before. They've obviously come down a lot but when I look back at old pictures they're still noticeably fuller than before I got them done.

Lipdissapointment · 22/09/2020 13:16

Crossed posts, I see some of you are echoing my feelings. Thank you.

I'm really embarrassed about it.

How thin were your lips before? I think you have maybe gone from one extreme to the other, no offence OP but if I were you I'd be straight back to that clinic to get them dissolved.

Scweltish · 22/09/2020 13:19

I didn’t actually think they looked too bad from the side, they’re a hell of a lot worse from the front. That’s way too much filler, the top lip is huge and both have lost their shape. I’d defo get them dissolved

Lipdissapointment · 22/09/2020 13:21

I received a quick response from somebody at the clinic who has said they've passed on my message to the practitioner who did the procedure and he will be in touch shortly.

Oh love! Unfortunately people do want lips like that. Thus was one of my concerns that the people doing them wouldn't know what was nice. Sounds harsh but as you've shown you can't trust their judgement. I was more wanting Angelina Jolie full lips rather than somone from TOWIE. But it's hard to guarantee.

I really think you should go back to the clinic you got them done at. They know what it is and what was done. It doesn't have to be too embarrassing just say it wasn't what you were looking for. Also it's a few mind of embarrassment vs feeing awful all the time. Sorry this didn't work out op. People do have lip fillers and they don't look awful so you weren't to know.

Unfortunately I think the trend is for very obviously done lips so they think people want that.

Atalune · 22/09/2020 13:22

I can’t imagine your mouth before, it looks uncomfortably full in its current state. Clearly “done”, which I get is a certain look these days.

I think it’s very brave if you to post on here and you’re absolutely doing the right thing but asking for the dissolve.

Front on it doesn’t look bad.

ChaChaCha2012 · 22/09/2020 13:23

You look like you've had a dangerous allergic reaction to something.

Get them dissolved and, before you have any further treatments, think about what you want to achieve and why. Is there a psychological issue that is causing you to take such extreme measures?

Lipdissapointment · 22/09/2020 13:23

I'd say my lips were average volume to begin with, not plump but not non existent either.

I had some sort of breakdown after having my daughter and thought this would be a wonderful idea. I was wrong.

I certainly wouldn't do it again that's for sure, it has been an expensive and humiliating mistake.

Yeah they’re not good. Bless you, when did have them done? Apparently the swelling can take a week or so to go before you see the true results,

southparkroses · 22/09/2020 13:24

@KaptainKaveman

I've never seen a person with filled lips who looked good. Sorry you're miserable OP, but hopefully you can learn from this.
You may see people all the time with fillers, but you just can't tell they're there.

Obviously the bad ones stand out.

Lipdissapointment · 22/09/2020 13:25

I had them done 4.5 months ago and was hoping they'd have reduced alot more by now.

OP posts:
onwheels · 22/09/2020 13:26

go somewhere else to get the filler dissolved.

i've seen plenty of lip fillers (the young lady at a make up counter in boots, mums at school etc) and i've never seen any that look as pronounced as yours.

look at a different technique next time, i assume you have russian technique? Pillar? Did you research or have questions?

This is a temporary problem, please don't let it dent your confidence.

People may look but it's not big deal, learn from it: what you definitely don't want it to look like and go armed with images of what you do not want it to turn out like.

Atalune · 22/09/2020 13:26

Sorry to hear you have been quite low.

You’re going to get them sorted out. Just focus on that.

At least we get to wear facemasks at the moment! Grin.

Don’t beat yourself up about it.

OP posts:
Lipdissapointment · 22/09/2020 13:28

It's not the Russian technique no, it was "tailor made to my requirements" so they gave me what they thought I wanted.

I just didn't want up-turned lips.

OP posts:
lubeybooby · 22/09/2020 13:29

just get them dissolved at the original place, you don't have to be confrontational or anything if you're not comfortable, just say you feel like a change again and a bit smaller would be best or something.

Floralnomad · 22/09/2020 13:31

Honestly @Lipdissapointment you looked lovely before ,just get them dissolved and in future if you need to spend money to make yourself feel better by a bag or shoes or something it’s way safer .

Atalune · 22/09/2020 13:31

Well- sorry for stating the bloody obvious, but you look very pretty and very glamorous!

I can see why you thought the lips might be a nice pick me up and compliment your style.

You look so lovely. Please don’t mess with what you have!

Iminaglasscaseofemotion · 22/09/2020 13:31

Honestly they probably won't go back down on their own. It will reduce but I have a friend who had hers done. The first couple of times the girl made a right mess of them, she went to someone different who did make the mood better, but 2 and a half years later you can still see where they fucked it up the first time. She's not had them don't in around a year.

DerbyshireGirly · 22/09/2020 13:32

Get them dissolved OP and then leave them alone, there was absolutely nothing wrong with them before.

Floralnomad · 22/09/2020 13:33

Actually genuine question as I know nothing about lip fillers , if you have them dissolved do they go back to normal or is there a residual effect that stays long term ?

ChaChaCha2012 · 22/09/2020 13:33

That makes sense, and is definitely not anything to be embarrassed about, most of us have done these things when feeling very low. I got a tattoo in the same circumstances, covered but still tacky.

Don't be embarrassed about having them dissolved, either at the same clinic or elsewhere. They'll have seen so many women do the same thing. Afterwards you'll feel so much better, and be able to laugh about it.

(Also I'm pretty certain these treatments were banned 4.5 months ago, in which case I would go somewhere else for the new procedure as they're not trustworthy.)
