I don't like my lip fillers, my top lip turns up! :(

I had my lips enhanced and when the practitioner asked what I'd like, I said I wanted them notably bigger.

I was happy with the volume but not the technique. They looked nice from the front but stupid from the side.

In order to give the illusion of fuller lips they positioned one of the injections so that it turned my top lip upwards! Sad

Please tell me my side profile will return to normal? It has been about 4.5 months since having the procedure and although the volume of my lips is reducing, the top lip still turns upwards.

Good luck with your interview!

RaisinGhost · 23/09/2020 12:57

No need to be embarrassed, you tried it, you didn’t like it. That’s all

Yep, this. If you want a laugh, check out the "what have you wasted money on" thread, I think it's in aibu or chat. A few hundred £ on this is nothing, people have dropped new phones right in the toilet, crashed new car on the way home from the dealer, all things they can laugh about now.

Knittedfairies · 23/09/2020 13:00

Ohh... it's 1 pm now; I hope the interview goes well OP.

Lipdissapointment · 23/09/2020 14:16

Hi all, i got the job and I start next week Smile

I've tried to call the clinic and it's just ringing out so no joy with that. Its a mobile number and not a landline so they know who it is calling.

I'm in two minds whether to just chalk it down to experience and go elsewhere next month and pay have them dissolved there. I don't feel at all comfortable with these people least of all now they're clearly blanking me.

I certainly won't be getting fillers again, however nice they look on other people.

@Lipdissapointment

I forgot to ask..

When I have them dissolved they will only dissolve the fuller won't they?

I'm worried that the dissolving agent might dissolve some of my naturally occurring hyaluronic too, leaving me with next to no lips.

Mind you I think even that would be preferable atm.

I had a few injections of the disolving stuff hyalese but it still left some migrated filler and lumps. Don’t know if that’s because I had old filler from years ago

There’s other treatments that help, clearlift is around £ 100 and I went to Renée Lapino in London for radio frequency but very pricy 250 per treatment

@HaggisBurger

Not how lip fillers should actually look if done by an expert who values a natural aesthetic. Not sure where you are but check out Dr Harris on insta. He’s in North London I think but does loads of remedial work on duck lips. You are right to not want them to look like that. I’d suggest getting sorted by a remedial expert NOT the clinic that thinks that’s ok. Good luck Smile
I’m saving up to go to dr Harris! He won’t touch my face until my own botched lips are fully dissolved
Knittedfairies · 23/09/2020 14:53

Congratulations on getting the job!

BringMeTea · 23/09/2020 14:55

That's great news!

Yummyplainscones · 23/09/2020 16:23

Congratulations on the job 🥳

Atalune · 23/09/2020 18:03

Amazing news on the job front!!

ilovebedtimestories · 23/09/2020 18:15

Have you just posted about this on a Glasgow fb group OP? Blush

SayWhatTheWhatNow · 23/09/2020 18:28

If they have a SM page, post on it saying you have been trying to contact them and left messages regarding your treatment and please can they call you.
They should be offering you a review appointment at least
Are they registered with Save Face?

SayWhatTheWhatNow · 23/09/2020 18:28

Congrats on the job!

FourPlasticRings · 23/09/2020 18:50

Well done on getting the job. Can you leave a stinky review and pics for the clinic on TrustPilot? You may find they then contact you to sort it out.

Also, just FYI, masks are more effective than visors. It's quite new information though, so I expect most don't know yet.

Lipdissapointment · 23/09/2020 19:23

Thank you for the congrats Smile

I haven't posted about this on a Glasgow page no, I don't live anywhere near there. I guess somebody else has had an equally crap experience as me then.

I'm not sure if they're registered with Save Face but I'll try to find out.

I can definitely leave a review.

Thank you for the info on visors, I didn't know that.

@ilovebedtimestories or did you mean somebody has taken my pictures and posted them on a Facebook group? Shock

OP congratulations on your job offer.

@ihmua12 you have private messaged me accusing me of not being a lawyer, having a btec in beauty ( there is nothing wrong in that qualification) and then accusing me of being mentally ill. All this because I didn’t agree with your advice.

ilovebedtimestories · 23/09/2020 20:21

No no no!! Sorry didn’t mean to panic you. Just someone with the same issue by the looks of it.

Beachlovingirl · 23/09/2020 20:57

Op did you have the check in appointment that is usually 2 weeks after the initial procedure ? This is the the time they ask if you’re happy and make any corrections for free including dissolving anything.

I personally would get the top lip dissolved and leave the bottom and have the top done again in a natural look. Usually the bottom lip is plumper anyway and you could end up with exactly what you want. I know you may just want it out of there too though so of course do what is right for you.

Dissolving lip filler is something I don’t have any experience of regarding the results I’ve only ever needed to have tear trough filler dissolved as I’ve always been happy with my lip result.

Don’t be embarrassed to go back people go back all the time as this is their face and not something you just put up with.

RuthW · 23/09/2020 21:34

They look like everyone else who has had lip fillers. Personally I think everyone who has them looks unattractive.

Suzi888 · 23/09/2020 21:45

Get them dissolved if you don’t like the result. Whoever did it should’ve showed you some photos first. Think twice about getting any other procedures, all these fillers and Botox look very fake imo. But it’s your face and money, just be very careful next time.

namechanged984630 · 23/09/2020 21:49

How did you get them done during the peak of covid?

pilates · 23/09/2020 22:14

Op, can you use someone else’s mobile to contact them if you think they are avoiding your calls.

Lipdissapointment · 23/09/2020 22:28

I had them done in June. They said they had been given the go ahead to reopen.

I wasn't told about a time frame in which to return if I wanted them dissolved unfortunately no. They didn't mention or even advertise a dissolving service until recently when I saw it had been put up as a procedure costing £100.

I could use my partners phone to ring them but I'm reluctant. It's clear they don't want to know and to my detriment I'm not the sort of person to persist, I'd sooner look around for somebody else who can dissolve them for me.

I don't get the best vibes from them given some of the things they've posted on social media anyway, quite bitchy.

I can't think of anything more awkward than going back there after all of this. For those who haven't RTFT I'm pretty sure they got wind of me talking negatively about them elsewhere and that's why I'm getting the 'fuck you' treatment now.
