I ahev just moved and met the only neighbour i think who isn't about 100!She is about 35 boden-y with kids and seemsnice but we were chatting about annie lennox as she had a paper with her picture on it and she was saying how it is harder for women who are attractive to accept aging and she was dreading it as she had spent her life getting what she wanted because of her looks!I was speechless for once and said little back but i would never say that although I am not what I was at 42 I was ok in my youth but it just shocked me So come on do you think you're gorge and has it helped or hindered you?

Interesting thread. I feel the same way as your neighbour. I actually don't like how I look but I'm told I'm gorgeous.

And I would say it has helped me get what I want although it makes some people think I'm stuck up

I've been told I'm beautiful by people years ago, lately it's just dh that tells me though I don't think I am at all though, I look in the mirror and I see fat and crap looking. Rarely do I think I atually look nice. I'm quite small so having put on a couple of pounds after having ds2 (I can't believe I put weight on after he was born and not before! Annoying!) it shows on me a lot more and makes me feel really self conscious. Sigh, I've never really been happy with the way I look though.

my saying is "I'm uglier than most but prettier than some" however I feel better about my looks in my thirties which is probably all to do with confidence and accepting me for me and to me its mostly the personality that makes the person attractive

No I don't think I am attractive, though plenty of people tell me I am. When I was younger I was often told that I was the image of Marilyn Monroe, but never believed it. Then at the age of 16 I developed a eating disorder and it's only been in the last 4 years that I have kept to eating properly. I am now 32 years old, am a size 10 and have no wrinkles as yet!
