Now this is SERIOUS - WWW's 10year younger boot camp, SEPT 07, WEEK ONE, all welcom

WideWebWitch · 03/09/2007 08:25

Hello! This is week one (again since we all kind of limped off the last one, given school holidays etc) of the EIGHTH WWW 10year younger boot camp of 2007

Anyone can join, we promise it works and you will feel and look better - and maybe younger - if you follow these rules.

This is about being healthy and feeling and looking better as a resuklt. It's not a diet (although weight loss does seem to occur fairly frequently)

THE RULES ARE:

  • Sunscreen at all times, even thought it's Sept
  • No or little booze in the week. Wine at the weekend is allowed if you want it
  • Walking is important, a small amount every day if possible. 30 mins if you can. Many of us have an Omron pedometer
  • Lots of water, aim for 2 litres a day
  • Apply body cream as often as possible
  • Use hand cream/foot cream too, we recommend Flexitol, which is fantastic stuff
  • Go to bed early, by 10.30pm if pos
  • Eat healthily
  • Be happy

The idea is that at the end of six weeks we all feel happier, healthier and glow with the good food, sleep, exercise, water and lack of sun damage.

I am feeling very determined, having been on a very slippery slope over recent weeks...

All WelcomE that would be.

OP posts:
rosmerta · 03/09/2007 09:09

must admit am slightly scared by the serious bootcamp

HuwEdwards · 03/09/2007 09:15

am sorely tempted....but no wine in the week????

I know I should do it - drank excessively whilst on holiday....

cerys · 03/09/2007 09:19

I am back -well, I haven't actually been anywhere, just haven't been posting

I am back on the WeightWatchers plan and eating really well. I had got into the habit of eating cereal for lunch, now it's salads etc. Feel better already. I am doing a 10K run in 3 weeks and a half marathon in October, so I need to be eating the right stuff and hopefully dropping some weight, then it will be less of a strain on my body.

I also ordered some of the Liz Earle hot cloth cleanser stuff which Winnie mentioned and it arrived today, so I am looking forward to trying it out.

Good luck to everyone. i have enjoyed the summer holidays, but will be in a better routine once the DDs go back to school and DS goes to his playgroup.

TheDuchessOfNorksBride · 03/09/2007 09:36

Cerys has set the bar rather high me thinks Well done on the running. I'm hoping to get back to running 5k twice a week after the DCs go back to school.

Now I'm off to the beach for the day - weather is a bit patchy but nevermind!

bamamama · 03/09/2007 09:44

OK, hello all - here's to a succesful bootcamp. So, I had a full nine hours of seriousness head start so have been really good. So good, in fact that I spent all day walking and have so far racked up 28,146 steps. I may not be able to walk tomorrow though as am pretty knackered now. Still it was a lovely day! everything bootcamp wise in place so feeling confident.
Winnie - any more thoughts on whether P&P works? It seems to be doing something for me but not sure if it's not just sustained sunny weather!

soapbox · 03/09/2007 09:55

Please, please, please can I join up?

I have previously resisted strongly as going to bed at 10.30pm was not high on my list of things to achieve this year

However, a summer of gross over-indulgence which has added considerably to my already well padded body means that drastic life-style changes are needed and fast.

I've bought the pedometer - but gave up when it asked me to measure my stride - I was caught in such a sprial of slothdom that rising from the sofa to get a tape measure was too much to contemplate. However, that was yesterday and today is a new day and new super invigorated moi!

So please can I join bootcamp??????

SilentTerror · 03/09/2007 10:18

I'm in!
Been trying to loose a bit of weight for past 3 weeks and have succeeded in losing half a stone, mainly by not eating anything between meals and watching portion size. Have continued with kit kat or equivalent at night though! Have also been doing 15 mins on exercise bike every evening and walking as much as possible in the daytime.
Can also sing praises of 2 litres of water a day.Am sure you can tell in my skin!

legalalien · 03/09/2007 10:54

I'm still here! off the rails a bit on the drinking front over the weekend, but that's antipodeans and barbeques for you. Am going to be extra good about wine this week, as am off on holiday for a week on Saturday and suspect there will be lots of quaffing involved (spot me as the mum of a child yet to reach school age - snapping up those post-school-holiday travel bargains....)

have just invested in my SECOND tube of Flexitol.....

CountessDraculaPI · 03/09/2007 10:55

oh god I need this
i feel about 100

tortoiseSHELL · 03/09/2007 11:01

I'm in, definitely! School holidays not great for me really, but full of new intentions!

Budababe · 03/09/2007 11:02

I'll join you all.

REALLY need to lose weight so need to stop drinking in the week.

REALLY need to get fit so need to start walking.

Need to drink more water.

I do go to bed pretty early (unless I get caugt on here!)

Will do the sunscreen too as it's sensible.

Am on 3rd tube of Flexitol!

dissle · 03/09/2007 11:04

dissle · 03/09/2007 11:17

winnie · 03/09/2007 11:19

there is

moonshine · 03/09/2007 12:07

Please can I re-join? I was on this thread back when I was actually 10 years younger I think and WWW had a serious apple habit (is that still the case?).

I have just gone back to work after more than 6 years, having lost weight yet again earlier this year on the Cambridge Diet, but still my weight continues to yo-yo (currently way too much the wrong way). I need a serious lifestyle kick-up-the-arse and to start exercising again (and stop drinking so much - I blame the summer hols). I love Autumn so am feeling buoyant this morning. Back to school/work tomorrow so am actually going for a last piggy-ish lunch with the kids today but I will try not to drink until at least Thursday this week. And I shall start back on the rebounder tonight. I really need someone chiding me I think to do something positive so please chide away!

ImBarryScott · 03/09/2007 12:28

Right, I'm in!

Have totally neglected myself since DD was born 6 months ago (in a slobbish, rather than selfless way). I reckon I'm probably heavier now than a week after having her, due to my extremely crapola diet. I'm back to work in a month though, and I seriously need to Sort It Out.

Have just applied my first lashings of Flexitol, and poured a nice glass of water.
And DD still wakes loads at night, so I always get to bed by ten .

May also even get a haircut.

WideWebWitch · 03/09/2007 16:18

Hello everyone!
Yes, everyone is welcome, absolutely.

I haven't had a great day but neither have i had a terrible one

toast and butter x 3 oops
beef and horseradish sandwich oops
nothing else yet
more walkign than usual as I'm in London (had a meeting, now in internet cafe waiting to meet my sister)

And feeling VERY motivated to be serious about this again. Although if that's what I eat when I'm motivated...

OP posts:
jaynehater · 03/09/2007 16:26

If it's all welcome, can I join in? I'm on a weight loss/health kick just now - determined that as I turned 35 this year obese, ill and miserable, I shall be exactly the opposite next April.

So far, have lost 19 lbs with WW, and am exercising more, but the skin care and happiness reminders are just what I need!

What do we do, check in occasionally and say how we're doing?

WideWebWitch · 03/09/2007 16:28

Jaynehater most of us check in most days but it's up to you. There's usually qwuite a bit of chatting and gossip that goes on too,

OP posts:
legalalien · 03/09/2007 16:32

I think of checking in as a bit like going to confession....

jaynehater · 03/09/2007 16:34

The water thing is my big downfall - when we went on holiday I drank gallons of water, and never had better skin. This will be my tough one - if it's not coffee or wine, I find it hard to be bothered drinking it, in this climate
