Now this is SERIOUS - WWW's 10year younger boot camp, SEPT 07, WEEK ONE, all welcom

Hello! This is week one (again since we all kind of limped off the last one, given school holidays etc) of the EIGHTH WWW 10year younger boot camp of 2007

Anyone can join, we promise it works and you will feel and look better - and maybe younger - if you follow these rules.

This is about being healthy and feeling and looking better as a resuklt. It's not a diet (although weight loss does seem to occur fairly frequently)

THE RULES ARE:

  • Sunscreen at all times, even thought it's Sept
  • No or little booze in the week. Wine at the weekend is allowed if you want it
  • Walking is important, a small amount every day if possible. 30 mins if you can. Many of us have an Omron pedometer
  • Lots of water, aim for 2 litres a day
  • Apply body cream as often as possible
  • Use hand cream/foot cream too, we recommend Flexitol, which is fantastic stuff
  • Go to bed early, by 10.30pm if pos
  • Eat healthily
  • Be happy

The idea is that at the end of six weeks we all feel happier, healthier and glow with the good food, sleep, exercise, water and lack of sun damage.

I am feeling very determined, having been on a very slippery slope over recent weeks...

oh cock .

DD's had a bad day, and consequently so have I. We've failed on all counts.

No, wait - I've done my feet. Am liking this Flexitol business.

feetheart · 04/09/2007 22:36

DofNB - thanks for tea

Pleased that Maya Gold is considered essential .

Well, yesterday went OK. Water, yes, healthy eating, yes (unless you count the handful of cashew nuts I had at about 7.00 pm while I was cooking dinner). Didn't do any of the other things though but I am looking forward to tomorrow when kids are back at school and I can get to large boots for Flexitol and Sunscreen. Will also be able to walk again too. Oh, did go to bed early last night but got woken up at 6.00 am by ds1 .

Best dash as I have loads to do today including persuading ds1 that he needs to try on his school trousers so I can take them up - have been very lazy and left it until the last minute as always!

Err - morning.

Sort of went off the rails a bit last night - had work dinner and got just a bit carried away with the Chablis (and someone ordered me a port to go with the cheese) - in my defense, I didn't know most of the other people at the dinner and thought some dutch courage might be in order. On the plus side:

(a) I had a good time;
(b) I drank a litre of water when I got home, and have had a litre of water and half a litre of orange juice this morning (preventative and curative waters!)
(c) my feet are in good nick; and
(d) I actually managed to put one of my non-stretchy suits on this morning, so I must have lost just a little bit of weight!

I have a bad feeling about the upcoming holiday though.

LaCod · 05/09/2007 09:39

HELLO do you lot not think that th is bootcamp is crap s youbve been oding it fo ages and there dont seem to be any results

amen

TheDuchessOfNorksBride · 05/09/2007 11:17

There are results fishface. So fuck off.

Porridge for breakfast. 20min cross-country run after school drop followed by an hours walk with the dog (slowly though as DD2 with me and no pushchair - hurrah!).

And I'm just off to make tomato & mozz salad for lunch, with quinoa and a green salad . Have taken my iron supplement and nearly 1lt water.

My feet look cack (again). I'll deal with them later.

exactly DoNB - there are results. My DH said I looked younger yesterday which is the first time he's said that in 10 years so I'm feeling happy!
Bootcamping going well this week. Lots of walking and water, healthy food and early nights. Not had any wine since Saturday and yes Batters, you're absolutely right, I do feel heaps better for it (I think I may forget this come Friday though). I bought a bike at the weekend and ds's seat was fitted on the back today so will have a nervous wobble down the road with him tomorrow. (He doesn't like his cycle helmet AT ALL).
I'm still having a small cake most days but I'm very lucky and don't need to lose weight so I've decided it helps the happiness. Legalalien - port and cheese is so lovely - I don't blame you for indulging. Right, off to do something with my feet. They are revolting and I don't think I can get any Flexitol here...

SilentTerror · 05/09/2007 13:18

Yesterdaywent quite well I think-
At least 2 litres water
Porridge with skimmed milk and banana
Chicken and salad wrap
Smoked mackerel with lemon couscous and salad
Kitkat to reward myself in the evening!
15mins exercise bike
Park in afternoon with DDs so some exercise there!
No alcohol
Bed at 10.30,after reading 'Atonement' for 20 minutes.

legalalien · 05/09/2007 13:26

bamamama - surely you jest? Flexitol is MADE in Oz, and imported into the UK.....

legalalien · 05/09/2007 13:29

ok - mystery solved, they're selling it under a different brand name in oz

www.eulactol.com.au/ but same stuff though - I got here from the Flexitol website

rosmerta · 05/09/2007 14:42

duchess

Having an ok day, went swimming last night which I really enjoyed. Its a lot nicer when there's only 2 of you in the whole pool so you're not bumping arms & legs all the time! Was considering looking for some of those webbed gloves that someone on here mentioned (was it motherinferior?) but decided I need to go a few more times first!

Eating relatively healthy, lots more fruit than usual, but still not enough water.

Am off on holiday next week so am hoping I will be able to keep it up! And after going shopping for a new swimsuit (which definitely doesn't help the happiness quota ) I'm determined to be in at least a tankini next year, if not a bikini!

rosmerta · 05/09/2007 14:43

Ooops, sorry about long post:

Also meant to say well done to everyone else especially feetheart!

scattyspice · 05/09/2007 14:54

I'm joining this one.

Rubbish at drinking water (too much cofee).
Eat crap food (too much sugar = highs / lows).
Have major alc intolerence (headaches)
Never wear suncream (but have some free No7 stuff so will dig it out).
Try to run 3x wk.
Good at early nights though .

What was the other thing?

cerys · 05/09/2007 15:01

Went to first WW weigh in and had lost 3lbs so am feeling pleased about that. Just need to keep at it now!

rosmerta · 05/09/2007 15:07

scatty - be happy

ImBarryScott · 05/09/2007 15:07

Good to hear everyone's doing better than me !
I'm doing some nap training with DD, and neither of us is happy about it, so perhaps not the best time to join.

BUT - I haven't (yet) eaten any crap today
1 litre water already down
2x 15 minute walks already, more to come later
no booze
and have done my feet.

Although if all I manage to get out of boot camp is some nice feet to replace my hobbit's trotters, then it'll be worth it.

moonshine · 05/09/2007 18:53

Reporting in Miss. Am enjoying being back at work but forgot how bloody hungry I got after a day of goodness - I just crave pure carbs and would happily eat a trough of toast and doughnuts, topped with biscuits.

Still, have upped the water intake, wear sunscreen on my face, moisturise (although feet need attention but out of sight and all that). Exercise is my huge problem. Ironically I now have more kid-free time but it is taken up with getting to and from, or being at, work (and cannot take a proper lunch break to fit in my hours). I used to do 12-20,000 steps a day in term-time, sigh.

My aim is to be bmi 25 and glowing by Christmas and have several gorgeous outfits and high heels.

PatsyCline · 05/09/2007 19:45

Yesterday ended in disaster for me as I went to bed in good time for the 10.30pm curfew only for DD2 to wake up very unwell ten minutes later, so I had a little restless companion for the rest of the night and looked awful this morning.

However, despite that shakey start, today has been good in all but one area > I ate an obscene amount of cake - I will not binge tomorrow!
Suncreen - tick
No booze -tick
Parked away from school and then left car there, so had long walk to and from town.
Drank water a lot (not up to 2 litres yet)
Body cream before bed
Foot cream done first thing
Off to bed extra early!

Overall a good day with plenty of positives.

Patsy x
