Now this is SERIOUS - WWW's 10year younger boot camp, SEPT 07, WEEK ONE, all welcom

Hello! This is week one (again since we all kind of limped off the last one, given school holidays etc) of the EIGHTH WWW 10year younger boot camp of 2007

Anyone can join, we promise it works and you will feel and look better - and maybe younger - if you follow these rules.

This is about being healthy and feeling and looking better as a resuklt. It's not a diet (although weight loss does seem to occur fairly frequently)

THE RULES ARE:

  • Sunscreen at all times, even thought it's Sept
  • No or little booze in the week. Wine at the weekend is allowed if you want it
  • Walking is important, a small amount every day if possible. 30 mins if you can. Many of us have an Omron pedometer
  • Lots of water, aim for 2 litres a day
  • Apply body cream as often as possible
  • Use hand cream/foot cream too, we recommend Flexitol, which is fantastic stuff
  • Go to bed early, by 10.30pm if pos
  • Eat healthily
  • Be happy

The idea is that at the end of six weeks we all feel happier, healthier and glow with the good food, sleep, exercise, water and lack of sun damage.

I am feeling very determined, having been on a very slippery slope over recent weeks...

It's my birthday today & I am having a completely wobbly morning consumed with all of the people I love who are now absent from my life

feetheart · 07/09/2007 09:49

Oh Winnie, birthdays can be really difficult can't they? I hope the day gets better. Be good to yourself, have a Happy Birthday from us and a Bootcamp holiday pass for the day

rosmerta · 07/09/2007 09:50

oh winnie, I don't know your situation but am thinking of you - happy birthday {{{{{hugs}}}}}

I'm off on holiday today so won't be around for the next week. Will try to keep up with bootcamp though while I'm away - everyone seems to be doing really well so that's my incentive, I don't want to be the only one not showing any results

Btw, I don't know if you know this or not, I didn't and found it quite interesting. I was reading yesterday alcohol is broken down in your body a few hours after drinking it and the process of that produces some kind of reaction that acts as a stimulant which is why after drinking in the evening, even 1 glass, its often hard to get to sleep or you wake up a few hours later. Just thought I'd share that with you all!

Right, must go finish packing. Have a good week everyone

TheDuchessOfNorksBride · 07/09/2007 09:52

Happy Birthday*

Don't have a sad birthday Winnie. Have you planned anything fun? Did you get any nice presents? You can have cake and vino today y'know!

I've done a measly 15min run this morning, about 1.5 miles. And now I'm off to walk the dog and pick blackberries (from our secret spot ) with DD2. A friend nearing the end of her breast cancer chemo treatment is coming over later and I shall deffo be plying us both with cake.

Muesli, water & iron supplement consumed so far. Skin taken care of. Generally happy. I did have a very late night.

PatsyCline · 07/09/2007 12:18

Happy birthday, Winnie. Sorry that it's proving to be a tough day for you.

Another rough night with DD2 has left me feeling exhausted and consuming a very non-bootcamp amount of toast! However, I am going to get DD2 off for a nice long nap soon and do a workout DVD to out right some of the damage.

Patsy x

I've been doing well on the walking, water and footcream front. Have had three booze free evenings this week as well.

However I have just had a Krispy Kreme doughnut (someone's birthday). Oops.

I've bought some new and very expensive moisturiser with sunscreen but feel that I should finish the old and very expensive non-sunscreen one I have currently on the go. Hope that's all right Miss WWW!

hhhhmmm a mixed end of the week for all of us emotionally and on the food front I think. I was storming this morning - big bowl of fresh fruit, tea without milk, seeds and dried fruit for mid morning snack. The I had an interview and presentation to do for work which over ran and that was it... I came out went to M and s bought cheese sandwiches, their nice full fat crisps came home snaffled the left overs of DS3's macaroni cheese, ate a slice of pizza and now DH is coming home and has offered to call in a take away for a treat. I didn't even have guilty pangs I just troughed the lot without a second thought.

Anyway water consumption is good and feet are looking better and I asked DH if I looked 10 years younger and he said not quite 10 years.

WWW - I have a vision of you constantly tending to roast beef in your oven how do you do it?

Pashmina - so sorry to hear about your mum .

I can't believe I haven't been on MN since Wednesday (I think). This working lark is making me very sleepy in the evenings so am going to bed early-ish (although my 2 little darlings have been waking me up at 5am and cannot get back to sleep, grr).

I still haven't solved the wolfing down everything in sight in when I get in from school run but I am at least am not putting on weight.

As for exercise - I don't know what to do yet - would love to take up running actually, but I just cannot exercise in the evenings. But I do feel I am not really putting the effort in to solve this problem, especially having recently read that Condoleeza Rice gets up at 5am to work-out for 1.5 hours a day . Please tell me she is not actually a real human!

Still I have a glass of red wine so am happy....yes bootcamp really is hard at the weekends!

Have a good one all!

moonshine · 07/09/2007 19:29

Sorry, it's the red wine typing - Pamina.

TheDuchessOfNorksBride · 07/09/2007 20:58

Nice feet sobernow! Very sandal-worthy.

Pamina - I am sorry. Cancer is so spiteful.

My friend didn't come this morning - she's too exhausted after the chemo. I'll see her next week instead. Only just over 10,000 steps today. Lots of water. V. good homemade Chinese dinner with tons of veg and brown rice. And I am definitely having an early night.

Moonshine - could you get up a wee bit earlier and jog for just 15 minutes before you shower/get ready? Condoleeza Rice is an unusually driven woman!

SilentTerror · 07/09/2007 22:05

Not too good today
Out for lunch and had glass of wine! Not up to my usual standard water wise either.

WideWebWitch · 08/09/2007 08:25

Hello
what do you mean how do I do it? Do you mean how cooked? Very very rare in the answer! DH cooked the last lot, it was gorgeous.

Ate pizza, drank wine last night and went to bed at 1am. Hmmm not good. Never mind, onwards.
