Lots of people seem to have the Debenham's calendar. Just starting a thread so we can discuss.

I can't wait Grin

It's £45 now, is it worth it?

MissLadyM · 02/12/2019 23:30

Oops, a bit pissed and ordered! X

CottonHeadedNinyMuggins · 03/12/2019 08:01

You won't be disapointed, Miss :) Mine was 45 when I got it too. I'd never have spent the full alleged £90 on it but for 45 it's turning out to be lovely.

Still getting the lovely woosh of scent each time it's opened Grin

Day 3 is interesting as I've never tried a 'targeted' mini mask - always sheet masks or those that you put over your face and wash off. Excited to try this. Korean face stuff is supposed to be awesome too!

Day 3: Oh K! Nourishing Gemstone Mini Masks (x8) with ruby extract.

AlwaysOnAbloodyDiet · 03/12/2019 08:19

I think I'll give this one to teen DD. Smell is very overpowering

I8toys · 03/12/2019 08:38

I'm enjoying this calendar. Its got new brands that I have never tried. Will give the mask a go tonight - my sons and husband will take the piss but hey ho!

whyamidoingthis · 03/12/2019 08:51

I'm working from home today so I've currently got the mask on. Luckily no video calls scheduled 😁. I wasn't quite sure what to do with it so just put the strips on pretty randomly.

I'm enjoying this calendar.

Me too. Great value for €50.

I've now removed the strips. My skin feels a little tight afterwards. I'll just have to use yesterday's clinique moisturiser to soften. I have convinced myself that my skin looks brighter though Grin

I'm not convinced about the strips. I think I would prefer it as a full mask.

whyamidoingthis · 03/12/2019 09:20

The clinique moisturiser really goes a long way. You only need a tiny amount.

OP posts:
Cheesymonster · 03/12/2019 09:24

Did you use all the strips at once?

whyamidoingthis · 03/12/2019 09:44

Did you use all the strips at once?

Yes. I just put them on pretty randomly. The packet isn't resealable so I was afraid they would dry out of I didn't use them at once.

hi all, calendar owner too here 👋
Was buying a pair of curtains online & it “fell” into basket for £45....
Pleased so far, have used mascara & clinique 👍
Today’s offering currently stuck to face.....not used before so 🤞for pleasant result......although will make sure removed before electrician turns up this morning! 😂

supadupapupascupa · 03/12/2019 16:06

Face rapidly drying out as suspected. Clinique is not for me sadly

whyamidoingthis · 03/12/2019 16:26

@supadupapupascupa - that's a pity.

My skin is lovely and soft at the moment. I don't know whether it's the mask or the moisturiser.

MissLadyM · 03/12/2019 22:19

Are there any other brand calendars still available I wonder....

whyamidoingthis · 04/12/2019 08:31

A ciate primer today. I'm not familiar with this brand. Has anyone ever used it?

OP posts:
AlwaysOnAbloodyDiet · 04/12/2019 08:36

@whyamidoingthis
Not the makeup or skincare, but their nail polishes are excellent

I don't particularly like primer, I have to say. I find it very harsh on the skin, but I'll try it Xmas Smile

whyamidoingthis · 04/12/2019 08:41

I sometimes use a bare minerals primer which is absolutely lovely. Very gentle on the skin. Other than that, I usually just moisturise before putting on makeup.

But yeah, I'll give it a go too. It does look a bit harsh though (that's purely based on an irrational prejudice against a pink gel).

CottonHeadedNinyMuggins · 04/12/2019 09:40

Cor the box for this one was definitely very smelly. I've never used a primer like this before!

Ciate Watermelon Burst Hydrating Primer 10ml - it's about £6 worth as the full 40ml is £24.

I was a bit confused given the bits inside the tube but apparently you don't wash it off (in the name really isn't it being a primer... ;) ) so I assume the bits must rub into the skin? Just rubbed a bit into the back of my hand to sniff - it's definitely watermelon and a little bit goes quite far.

Chewbecca · 04/12/2019 09:44

Is it a primer for the whole face? Looks more like a lip primer to me!

Chewbecca · 04/12/2019 09:45

Answered my own question via the magic of Google

Instantly refresh and moisturize skin before makeup application with Ciaté London’s Watermelon Burst Hydrating Primer. Delicately watermelon scented, this unique aqua serum primer grips foundation for long wear and added glow. The lightweight pink jelly base actively brightens and refines pores while the seed-like watermelon extract droplets burst through the pump and supply the skin with intense hydration.

whyamidoingthis · 04/12/2019 09:48

That sounds overly exciting for first thing in the morning. I'd better make sure I have a coffee to wake me up before hand.

OP posts:
CountryCob · 04/12/2019 17:04

Hello all, i am going to give that primer away as a present I think - too perfumed for me, if interested in primers wilko surprisingly do an excellent one in pretty pink packaging....

missmeg3leg · 04/12/2019 17:11

mmm....not a hit with me I’m afraid....agree with other posters it’s a bit too perfumed for me, have only tried a bit on back of hand but feels tacky, don’t usually use primer but presume they’re not supposed to feel like this?....onward to day 5...😀

CottonHeadedNinyMuggins · 05/12/2019 08:26

I've heard good things about their perfume but I haven't tried the Philosphy range before so this will be a good inning.

Purity made simple - Philosophy 30ml 3 in 1 cleanser for face and eyes.

The fullsize is 90ml which is £9(depending on where you go) so this is £3.
