August holiday princessing?

Fatkins · 23/06/2019 09:07

Anyone up for this please?

We are planning a holiday (though haven't actually booked anything yet) in August school holidays. I am in need of much princessing 😬.

My plan is:

  • healthy eating; plenty of fruit, veg, wholefoods, lots of water. As my name would suggest, I am a bit of a fatkins at the mo Blush, so losing a few lbs would be a good idea.
  • minimum of four days a week with no Wine or Gin.
  • lots of water.
  • less caffeine.
  • yoga every day, including two - three classes.
  • less screen time, except kindle, which doesn't have the 'bad' light.
  • exfoliate daily.
  • file feet daily.
  • paint toes weekly.
  • buff and file finger nails a few times a week.
  • use gradual tan lotion stuff.
  • curly girl method for hair and also speak to wonderful hairdresser about growing hair without it going to pieces.
  • wardrobe clear out and reorganise.
  • ask about teeth whitening at dentist.

I'm sure there are more, but that's all I can think of for now!

Would love some company Smile.

PS: apologies if there is one of these on the go already!

Wow 3lbs since Monday is great!

So I am working from home today so took the opportunity to do a hair mask and had a lovely shower and then applied a lovely Shea and honey body oil so I'm lovely and moisturized.

I had a go with the foot grinder thing so currently wearing socks as put some nice cocoa butter cream on after that. Might add more cream before bed so they're soft for morning.

DH is out this eve so have dug out a face pack to put on later once DD in bed.

ScaryBunnyPainting · 03/07/2019 16:19

Which hair mask did you use Snipples?

I’m pleased with that weight loss. I found an old work out DVD I used at uni, so I’ve been doing that for an hour a day plus yoga and 15 mins of kettle bells. I’m on the slow return to work following mat leave and I know in a couple of months I won’t have time to work out as much, so I’m getting as much in now whilst I still can. The baby rather enjoyed being used as a weight.Grin

After two weeks of slimfast I’ll swap one of the shakes for beans on toast/
It’s definitely not a sustainable plan.

I’m back from the school run and whilst the DC play in the garden I’m going sit under the parasol with my feet in a bowl of soapy water and then attack them with my pumice. My hair is tied back, I’ve taken my make up off and I’ve slathered on some rosehip oil.

I’m going to talk to a dermatologist at work about collagens as she once recommenced a product which has now fallen out of my head.

Lefields · 03/07/2019 16:27

Hey all, can I join? I get married AND go on honeymoon in August so the princessing is definitely ON!

I’m doing PT sessions 3 x a week, low (virtually no) carbs and doing my fitness pal.

I’m trying to not do too much to my hair at the moment as it’s looking a bit over processed and dry. Doing a weekly mask which I think is helping a bit.

Having my monthly eyebrow wax and tint next week which I can’t wait for as they’re looking v scraggy atm. Next one will be week of the wedding.

Likewise, highlights, week before the wedding. New extensions in 3 weeks time, cannot wait!

Nails, I’m going to leave them now and get a shellac the week of the wedding which’ll hopefully last me all honeymoon too!

TheGirlWhoLived · 03/07/2019 18:02

Such great inspiration here! Bad for my wallet though- currently bought some new clay face masks, clarins self tan drops, footner and some myoisotrol (sp?) fingers crossed some of it sticks eh!

I haven’t got a holiday to go on unfortunately... unless I quickly win the lottery and get to Devon sharpish Grin but I like princessing!!

My house is getting a princess makeover too, decluttering is going very well and each room has had a bit of a move-around

Fatkins · 03/07/2019 18:07

Welcome lefield Smile and HUGE congratulations!!! How exciting! I loved the run up to DH's and my wedding 😊. There's no better motivation for hard core princessing 😂.

The op in the original princessing thread actually specifically said that she treated one event every year as if it was her wedding, which is where he idea came from!

Yesterday was hair day, it's not what I asked for but after 5 hours I just wanted to go home. I'll have it redone before i go to what i actually wanted. My skin is clearing up a treat with the salicylic acid cream. Gonna do feet care tonight whilst watching a movie. Congrats to to bride to be, I'm sure you'll look fab for both the big day and the honeymoon.

August holiday princessing?
Fatkins · 04/07/2019 16:18

That looks fab Rackham! Sorry it isn't what you wanted though. I have hair day tomorrow too.

All fine here roday. I am weight watchering, (yes, it's a word Wink), away and also completely vegan (or should I say plant based?) today. I'm feeling quite positive about the food side of things. Whether that will be reflected on the scales, I don't know.

I also decided to book another yoga class for this evening as well, as I can't seem to get peace to do it at home.

Hope everyone else is having a good day! It's boiling again here. At least, as someone said up thread, that means I will drink more water!

ScaryBunnyPainting · 04/07/2019 16:36

Another 2lb off on the scales today. I’ve been for a swim and then ran back home the long way with the buggy.

Just had a lovely long bath whilst the baby napped then used my Korean Italy Towel all over - they are incredible. Slathered myself in body oil and SPF and off out shortly to have shellac nails and a chat about which facial would be best for me.

Carrotcakeforbreakfast · 04/07/2019 23:51

I'm in

We have booked anything yet but may escape down south in August.

However I do need to start looking after myself better and making an effort.

My list

Hairdresser booked for next week.
Watching what I eat and drink ( start tomorrow she says)
Scale and polish booked at hygienist on Saturday and then maybe some white strips.
Botox booked for end of the month.
Eyebrows tint and wax booked for tomorrow evening.
I can't wear nail varnish at work but might buff them up.
Going to start using my scholl electric thing daily and then book in for a pedi.
Get some kind of skincare regime going at the moment its make up off with wipes and then some day cream.
Oh and I've just ordered some of those Korean cloths on the back of this thread.

TeaAddict235 · 05/07/2019 10:01

Yes @ScaryBunnyPainting . I just am uninterested in food at the moment. The weather is definitely responsible, as until March I was putting away those Toffiffee chocolates like I had shared in the company.

I've mainly eating salads with grilled fish or grilled ham on top for lunch and dinner.

Went jogging today as it was a case of now or never! Now I have another hair mask on (Trusty old Pantene and a Dove one on top).

If the sun comes out again soon then I'll do my legs, but not a minute earlier!

TeaAddict235 · 05/07/2019 10:15

Stupid autocorrect

Forgot to say that as today is Friday, all my jogging might have been in vain as it's obligatory to have a glass or two of wine once the DC have gone to bed and DH and i cook something that we actually like, isn't finger food or requiring ketchup.

Congratulations @Lefields !!! Wishing you lots of sunshine and smiles on the big day.

Fatkins · 05/07/2019 10:33

Welcome carrot cake and thegirlwho Smile! Sorry, I missed you earlier thegirlwho.

TheGirlWhoLived · 05/07/2019 15:30

No worries, I will be more noticeable after princessing Grin

Bad start yesterday... was doing really well low-carb and vegan but accidentally went out for cocktails and Prosecco in the sun followed by pizza express.... more fergie than princess kate at the min!
Hair is looking lovely and shiny thanks to egg white and avocado mask and skin has been sunned and moisturised so is all glowy. Weight is about the same as before I sabotaged everything and I have hellofresh being delivered tomorrow as I am too lazy and hot to go food shopping!

Fatkins · 05/07/2019 15:40

Omg low carb and vegan sounds hard thegirlwho!

I'm thinking of starting a vegan dieters thread on the weight loss section if you'd be interested? I'm not low carb-ing though. I can't even hack that with meat and cheese 😂.

OP posts:
TheGirlWhoLived · 05/07/2019 17:50

Haha I’m a bit all or nothing kinda girl- also no alcohol (as you can see that went well yesterday 🤦🏼‍♀️)
Yes really interesting in a vegan weight loss, there’s quite a lot of junk you can get, but I’m doing well with eating literally a ton of veg

Fatkins · 05/07/2019 18:07

Yeah, I know what you mean re bring all or nothing! I am great when I'm in the zone, but can easily slip back into crap habits and then it's a free for all 😬.

I've started a thread in the weight loss section, but no takers yet 😂

Lefields WineFlowersStar congratulations!!! I did hardcore princessing before my wedding, was almost a full time job! Grin

TheGirl and carrot welcome!

Rackham your hair looks brilliant, gorgeous colour!

I've started the prescription retin A, first night last night. My skin feels very tight. No other side effects yet but time will tell Confused

EatenByDinosaurs · 05/07/2019 20:37

Fatkins I'm a Sunday vegan. Probably more a six days per week vegan, with the occasional dairy containing product, so I'll join please Smile. Heading out now but will post later.

Fatkins · 05/07/2019 20:56

Fab dinosaurs Grin!

I'm not a vegan but I've been vegetarian for 39 years (since I was 14yo)
I eat very minimal dairy . Couldn't do Low Carb because I don't like the fat ( I cannot eat butter , don't like the taste or texture) or any amount of cheddar ( my gallbladder has gone to heaven but its legacy lives on)

Last week we ate salad, hummas and pitta because it was too hot to bother .
Today I made a vegetarian ( actually it might've been vegan!) shepherds pie .

I like my hair at the moment , I have got rid of the Pixie once and for all and its a one length bob now

Use an oil based cleanser in the shower , my skin was feeling meh , this has smoothed it -used with a Konjac sponge that was on its way out .

And wearing the clothes in my wardrobe instead of keeping for nice .

And in keeping with August.........................I ordered a winter coat Xmas Grin

ScaryBunnyPainting · 05/07/2019 22:30

Another 1lb off today.
Did 30 mins kettle bells, 45 mins yoga and an hour of fast paced walking with the pushchair.

I’ve had a long bath and used Korean Italy towels again, then slathered myself in body oil.

I’m catching up on Corrie with one of those Garnier sheet masks on and I have some oil in the ends of my hair.

SheWoreRedVelvet · 05/07/2019 22:49

Hello can I sign up? We're off to southern Spain in 4 weeks. Have mysteriously gained 12lbs since Xmas which I am determined to lose before the holiday. So, the gloves are off, and I'm low carbing combined with 16:8. I'm on Day Two and have already lost 2.5lbs and don't feel remotely hungry. Drinking loads of water too.

Have been using Nailtique on my nails and in just a week they are so much stronger and glossier.

I dug out the credit card and booked a full session at the beauty salon three days before we fly. I'm having a full holiday wax, pedi and lash tint.

But the main thing is my weight, I have all these beautiful clothes and I'm so sick of them feeling uncomfortably tight.

Carrotcakeforbreakfast · 05/07/2019 23:11

Ohhh the retin A where is everyone getting it from.

I always used to use palmers cocoa butter but today I bought some palmers coconut moisturiser. It smells beautiful. My Korean Italy towels are coming tomorrow and my coconut oil moisturiser is waiting in anticipation.

Snipples · 06/07/2019 08:56

Rackham your hair is gorge!

I am not feeling so princessy today. We had a very boozy brunch yesterday and now suffering 🤢.

I have lost another pound though bringing me to 10lbs down in 6 weeks (and 12 inches lost altogether). I do wish it would show in my face more!

The hair mask I use is this one - by keratase. My hairdresser sold it. Told me to do it every week which I obviously never do! But the thought it there!
