August holiday princessing?

Fatkins · 23/06/2019 09:07

Anyone up for this please?

We are planning a holiday (though haven't actually booked anything yet) in August school holidays. I am in need of much princessing 😬.

My plan is:

  • healthy eating; plenty of fruit, veg, wholefoods, lots of water. As my name would suggest, I am a bit of a fatkins at the mo Blush, so losing a few lbs would be a good idea.
  • minimum of four days a week with no Wine or Gin.
  • lots of water.
  • less caffeine.
  • yoga every day, including two - three classes.
  • less screen time, except kindle, which doesn't have the 'bad' light.
  • exfoliate daily.
  • file feet daily.
  • paint toes weekly.
  • buff and file finger nails a few times a week.
  • use gradual tan lotion stuff.
  • curly girl method for hair and also speak to wonderful hairdresser about growing hair without it going to pieces.
  • wardrobe clear out and reorganise.
  • ask about teeth whitening at dentist.

I'm sure there are more, but that's all I can think of for now!

Would love some company Smile.

PS: apologies if there is one of these on the go already!

Welcome SheWoreRedVelvet Smile!

Will be back to catch up on the thread and post my princessing update a bit later, but all good here.

I’ve just spent the morning on my hands and knees squeegeeing every inch of carpet in our house before we hire a carpet cleaner. Goodness me that was a work out and a half! My arms feel great after that.

Pumiced my feet in the shower and painted my toe nails afterward.

Just about to Lumea my legs and underarms again before applying some gradual tanner.

ScaryBunnyPainting · 06/07/2019 13:20

Thank you for sharing your hair mask Snipples. 🙏

Fatkins · 06/07/2019 15:32

Caught up now!

Everyone is doing fab. I feel the same as you redvelvet. The main thing I need to work on at the moment is the stone and a half I've gained this year 😬.

So far all is going well with my vegan WW. I have a weigh in day tomorrow, so will have a better idea of how I'm doing then 🤞.

I also had a hair cut yesterday and have just done my third yoga class this week. I'm desperate to go back to Ashtanga though, so I'm looking again for a local class I can actually get to.

I'm pleased with my haircut, but I still want to grow it a bit longer.

ScaryBunny you have reminded me about tan! My friend had a gorgeous glow the other day and I thought it was natural and she said it was Bondi Sands tan from ASOS so I've ordered some.

Fatkins · 07/07/2019 09:24

Oh thanks for the recommendation snipples! I get lots of skin stuff from ASOS, so might give that a go.

I am 3lbs down from last Tuesday, so that's 4lbs overall, since the start of this thread. I'm happy with that as a start.

I've been exfoliating and using a dry oil spray. It's making such a difference to my skin and it smells nice too.

I need to replenish my skin stuff though. Will do that today.

I have an event in a couple of weeks (a graduation - not mine) too, which is sort of a halfway point, so I'm planning to get nails done for it and maybe a spray tan. Excited!

I'm finding this one a lot better than the Dove tan. Less orange in my opinion.

August holiday princessing?
Snipples · 07/07/2019 19:43

Yes that's a good one and smells lovely.

EatenByDinosaurs · 08/07/2019 16:42

Carrot I'm in the US so I just got a prescription from my Dr for the Retin A.
I think if you're in the UK you can order it from Portugal (there was a thread a while back on it) or if you know anyone who's going to Spain or Portugal ask them to get some from a pharmacy for you? I believe the brand name is Retrides in spain, and its best to start with the 0.025% strength and go slowly.

It sounds like all the princessing is going brilliantly!

I'm still doing the Retin A, every three days until next week when I'll up it to every two days. So far so good, some minimal peeling and purging but I haven't yet acquired the dinosaur's arse facial skin which is often the norm for the first few weeks of Tretinoin, according to my Dr and the reddit Tret sub Confused. DH also mentioned how smooth and even my skin was looking Smile

I got a bit paranoid about getting skinny fat (skinny not currently a concern!!) so have started doing the 30 day shred again, aiming for four times per week in addition to the daily yoga. Forgot how tough the shred was, was a bit wibbley legged!

I need to order some more skincare stuffs, prob from Amazon as its the easiest way to get the Asian beauty brands around here, and I want to start body brushing again.

I'm down another dress size, but want to start being a bit stricter with the keto.

TheGirlWhoLived · 09/07/2019 10:20

Ok I have massively fallen off the princess wagon over the weekend... now have a lovely mini break booked with DP (2nd August eeek) so my new princessing list goes like this:

No alcohol (bar Saturday night out with my besties)
Moisturise body every day
Use Korean Italy towels 2 x per week
Aerobic class 3 x per week
Run 3 x per week
Yoga every day (Adriane True/Dedicate)
Get hair highlighted, trimmed and olaplexed
Use footner
Use L’Oréal clay mask once a week
Use hair masque once a week
At least 3l water every day
At least 5 fruit/veg every day (mostly veg)
Eat before 8 and sleep before 11 every night!

Fatkins · 10/07/2019 14:35

Holiday (finally) booked here too thegirlwho! Time to up our game Grin.

So, I've booked in to have my nails done next week. I can't get a pedicure appointment too though which I am desperately in need of... Will keep trying.

As suggested by the ever fabulous dinosaurs, I am trying my own version of intermittent fasting.

I have been exfoliating in the shower and also dry brushing and using an oil spray and my skin is definitely feeling better.

I've done yoga and some brisk walking every day this week. I'm considering trying jogging soon 😬.

No alcohol so far this week and slightly less caffeine.

How is everyone else doing?

Had my pre holiday bikini wax this morning. It was bearable but I've now got a few wee bruises under the skin. Anything I can do to fade them before I hit the beach?

EatenByDinosaurs · 11/07/2019 16:13

Hi all!

Its stupidly early here but I've been out digging in posts before it gets too hot. Hmm Great exercise, and I even did the 30 day shred before going outside Confused

Will catch up in a little while after a gallon of coffee but @Justmuddlingalong arnica ointment or arnica gel applied as often as you can be bothered (few times per day) should sort it out v quickly.
Local health food shop or Holland and Barratt (so?) should have it and its usually cheap.
I slap it on all bruises as I bruise like a ripe peach, and am v clumsy so I'd be permanently black and blue otherwise! Grin

Justmuddlingalong · 11/07/2019 16:43

Cheers @EatenByDinosaurs. I've got arnica gel here. D'you think it'll be ok to use just now? I don't want to be bruised and bright red around my nether regions. 🤭

EatenByDinosaurs · 11/07/2019 17:07

You're welcome @Justmuddlingalong I think so yes, I've used it straight after waxing before and it was fine, might be a good idea to patch test a small area first and see how it reacts for a hour or so first though?
Wouldn't be a good look otherwise Grin

Justmuddlingalong · 11/07/2019 17:15

No. Definitely not the look I'm aiming for.

70isaLimitNotaTarget · 13/07/2019 16:27

I've just ordered a 10x magnifying mirror .............a move I might regret once I've seen the horrors of my skin ,eyebrows and chin hairs in glorious technicolour enhancement Shock

I'm using a Konjac sponge and a variety of cleansers (I switch between foamy and oily depending on what mood my face is in)
Might need to step up the moisturiser , air-con in some of my workplaces and sweating cobs at night , not doing me any good.
Still guzzling water

Fatkins · 13/07/2019 17:49

70isalimit

Omg, the thought of that mirror fills me with dread 😂. Which probably means I need one 😬.

How is everyone doing?

The graduation is next week, so I am doing a bit more princessing in preparation. I'm having my fingernails shellaced, which is a very rare event for me. Also going to shave legs and file feet this evening.

Continuing with diet and exercise and skin regime.

Hope everyone else is well and enjoying the weekend Smile.

Snipples · 14/07/2019 11:19

How's everyone doing? Im out of ketosis after a bit of an indulgent weekend involving all you can eat Chinese food 🙈 so I'm being extra good now to get back on it.

My dyson airwrap has broken and I've noticed my hair is tonnes fluffier already so need to get that sorted. Need to book nail
Appt before they break also.

Skin is feeling good after lots of nice masks. And my fake tan arrived so will try that later. Only two more weeks of work for me! 🎉

Fatkins · 14/07/2019 11:30

Hi snipples!

All good here. I am on day two of vegan low carb! So far it's going well, but I have a tendency to self sabotage when diets are going well... Must resist that.

I weighed in today and I am 6lbs down since we started this thread. I'm very happy with that. I still need to lose another stone at least, but hey ho.

I am on my way into London now to meet with my best friend. Trying to stick to diet plan, but I'm having a glass of wine...or two.

Cooler here today. I'm actually relieved. At least my makeup won't be sweating off my face!

70isaLimitNotaTarget · 14/07/2019 19:59

Legs are smooth , sugared

Face smooth (used a double cleanse and M&S Radience aka Face Footner)

EatenByDinosaurs · 14/07/2019 21:14

Hi All!

Thought I'd do a quick roundup for myself to try, so...

I've been doing the 30 Day Shred every day, plus 1hr minimum of yoga every day. I feel like they've become routine now, and I'm really pleased about that.

I've also been doing every other day fasting and that's been going brilliantly too, as of today I'm another dress size down and I'm beginning to look pretty toned all over, plus my c-section overhang is almost completely flat now, and diminishing every day. Over the moon about that one!!!

I've just re-done my balayage, and now I need to paint my finger nails and tint my eyebrows. May do those tomorrow though as I've got stuff to do today.

I'm upping the retin-A to three times per week from tomorrow, and I'm still drinking loads of water and green tea, and doing dirty keto

EatenByDinosaurs · 14/07/2019 21:15

To try and self review that should be!

MikeHannigansStripyShirt · 15/07/2019 14:50

Hello, please may I join? Booked a holiday for a fortnight’s time and I’ve been trying to lose a bit of weight/look better but not getting very far!

MikeHannigansStripyShirt · 15/07/2019 14:51

@EatenByDinosaurs tell me about this every other day fasting.... I tried on my bikinis the other day and it was NOT pretty Hmm
