August holiday princessing?

Fatkins · 23/06/2019 09:07

Anyone up for this please?

We are planning a holiday (though haven't actually booked anything yet) in August school holidays. I am in need of much princessing 😬.

My plan is:

  • healthy eating; plenty of fruit, veg, wholefoods, lots of water. As my name would suggest, I am a bit of a fatkins at the mo Blush, so losing a few lbs would be a good idea.
  • minimum of four days a week with no Wine or Gin.
  • lots of water.
  • less caffeine.
  • yoga every day, including two - three classes.
  • less screen time, except kindle, which doesn't have the 'bad' light.
  • exfoliate daily.
  • file feet daily.
  • paint toes weekly.
  • buff and file finger nails a few times a week.
  • use gradual tan lotion stuff.
  • curly girl method for hair and also speak to wonderful hairdresser about growing hair without it going to pieces.
  • wardrobe clear out and reorganise.
  • ask about teeth whitening at dentist.

I'm sure there are more, but that's all I can think of for now!

Would love some company Smile.

PS: apologies if there is one of these on the go already!

My lovely vegan has inspired me to make a serious effort to go vegan too, so that's another thing on my mind. I gained weight last time I went vegan, so I'm trying to find a way not to overindulge on delicious vegan snacks!

Sorry if that's slightly off topic!

Well so far I've kept up healthier eating, vitamin drinks, more water, less alcohol, exercise bike every day, topping up self tan, nail polish, vaseline face mask each evening. All working. I'm looking leaner, healthier and feel better. It also feels easier the more I keep it up. I also know I'll enjoy my hols more if I'm looking my best. Holiday is August 18th so I should look like Wonder Woman by then. Smile

Fatkins · 02/07/2019 12:24

Lovely vegan friend*

Not just "my lovely vegan" 😂.

Kathleen you are amazing! Well done! Wonder woman / princessing queen 👏👏👏👏.

I'm feeling much more motivated after reading that you're seeing results already.

My holiday still hasn't been booked, but it will probably be UK based and in the last week of August, to whoever was asking that up thread.

We're off to Phuket next week. I've just made an appointment to have my bikini line waxed. Sod the faffing with Veet that I usually do, only for the regrowth to put in an appearance after about 5 days. Not had a waxing for years, what do I need to know?

Fatkins · 02/07/2019 13:42

Oooooh I'm excited for you muddling! About Phuket I mean, rather than the bikini wax 😂.

I got regular bikini waxes for years. What sort are you going for? Have you ever had one before?

OP posts:
Justmuddlingalong · 02/07/2019 13:51

😁 I've not had one for about 8 years. Just been using Veet for years at home. I'm only planning on a general tidy up. No completely waxed or landing strips. Just enough to be contained iykwim. 👙

Fatkins · 02/07/2019 13:58

Ah you'll be grand then op!

My top tips for myself are no hot wax, (it makes me break out in a horrible, shaving type rash). Warm wax only. Exfoliate daily from couple of days after waxing, to avoid ingrowing hairs.

Other than that, just go to a decent salon and listen to your therapist.

Justmuddlingalong · 02/07/2019 14:07

Thanks for that @Fatkins. Will follow your advice.

Justmuddlingalong · 02/07/2019 14:27

Should I have a wee trim 1st? 😳

Fatkins · 02/07/2019 14:33
Grin

I would go with about an inch in length to be waxed Smile. I wouldn't go too short.

Thanks. Will do.

EatenByDinosaurs · 02/07/2019 18:33

Hi all!

Oh no Fatkins just me with the weird arm taughtness weight loss feeling then Confused

I've been sticking with the 5:2 (only managed two fast days last week though) grooming and yoga, I have to say my face and neck are looking much taughter and sharper which is nice Smile.

I've just painted my finger and toe nails, but they are the same colour, so bit of a cardinal fashion sin but I love the colour (L'Oreal's Jennifer's Nude) so can't get too worked up about it.

My dirty/cheat keto has taken a bit of a hammering as I've been trialling and perfecting a gluten free shortbread recipe Blush. It hasn't slowed my weight loss though, so again, can't get too worked up.
I am also a bit ashamed to admit that on one of my fast days last week I used my 500 calories solely on champagne. Blush Blush Blush Unsurprisingly it really went to my heat on a fast day empty stomach Blush.

EatenByDinosaurs · 02/07/2019 18:34

Head, not heat!

Fatkins · 02/07/2019 20:04

dinosaurs

I did exactly the same thing once when fasting 😂😂😂. For me it was Bloody Marys. I reasoned that they were a bit like soup...

You're doing fab! I need to up my game definitely, although today has been a good one.

EatenByDinosaurs · 02/07/2019 20:18

Fatkins aren't Bloody Mary's one of your five a day (or it it 1,000 per day now?)? Grin Very relieved to hear I'm not alone. You sound like you're making great strides though, just because one tyre goes flat you haven't slashed the others and all that Smile

EatenByDinosaurs · 02/07/2019 20:20

And thank you, this thread is really helping my motivation, it makes a big difference (particularly at my commitment to yoga!!) so thank you for starting it Smile

Fatkins · 02/07/2019 20:21

Ah thanks dinosaurs. It's a marathon not a sprint etc.

OP posts:
rackhampearl · 02/07/2019 20:46

Oh I lovveeeee bloody Mary's. So refreshing. 2 sessions of yoga for me today and my diet was going well until I got a got a bad headache and snaffled a snickers. Was a foolish move but it did the trick. Envy

EatenByDinosaurs · 02/07/2019 21:21

Absolutely Fatkins Smile

Two yoga sessions Rackham? Blimey, well done! A snickers can't be that many calories surely? Not in the broad context Smile

I am definitely picking up my prescription retinol tomorrow, enough putting it off. I'm a bit daunted tbh and that makes me feel a bit silly Blush

EatenByDinosaurs · 02/07/2019 21:22

And yes, Bloody Marys are amazing. Now I want one. And more shortbread. Grrr!!! Grin

Snipples · 03/07/2019 06:38

Ooh you're all doing so well.

I had a bit of pineapple last night (teriyaki pineapple burgers to be precise) and it was a terrible idea. Felt really crampy and awful afterwards. 6 weeks without carbs means I do not react well to fruit.

On the plus side I am down another pound this morning so that's 9 off altogether. Also bought one of those cool scholl feet grinder things (extra coarse) so will have beautiful feet soon.

I didn't know same Colour nails and toe nails was a faux pas. I always feel more put together when they match. Is this really unstylish?

Fatkins · 03/07/2019 13:44

9lbs off in 6 weeks is fab snipples! Well done you! That sounds like good, steady progress.

I'm up a lb from last weigh in, so only down 1lb overall 🤦. I'm calling this the teething problems stage though. I'm definitely settled now on my tactic, which is Weight Watchers and also trying to go plant based. I think the two things should compliment each other well, as most fruit, veg, plain tofu and pulses are all free. I can use my free points for treats, carby things like rice and healthy fats.

I have a yoga class today. It isn't my usual one as I couldn't make it to my Monday class. Also booked in for a class on Saturday morning.

I also have my hair appointment on Friday, so it will be good to get my lovely hairdresser's opinion on growing out my hair. I have weird hair and I'm never 100% happy with it, so I grow it out and then I'm not happy with it, so I get it cut short and repeat 😂.

I'm still doing CGM, so I haven't used shampoo, brushed or used heat on my hair for.... Jeeze, how long ago did I start this thread? That long at least anyway. I don't know how it's going. It's certainly no worse than usual, but, did I mention that I'm never happy with my hair 😂?

What else is on the agenda for princessing.... I've bought a few more bits for my wardrobe. If they work how I want them to, I'll do another, more brutal, clear out and get rid of some things.

Keep forgetting to do oil pulling! Will do it now.

OP posts:
Fatkins · 03/07/2019 13:45

Sorry, fruit veg etc are ZERO points. Can't quite get the hang of the WW lingo!

OP posts:
ScaryBunnyPainting · 03/07/2019 14:40

I’ve just been reminded by this thread to dig out my scholl foot grinder thingy. I’m going to try and do that twice a week.

I’m kicking off my weight loss with slim fast (I know, I know) and have lost 3lb since Monday. I’ll probably move onto keto or WW after this.

Justmuddlingalong · 03/07/2019 14:52

Dug out bikinis and swimming costumes today. Will have a try on and cull later to see which I'm taking.
