August holiday princessing?

Fatkins · 23/06/2019 09:07

Anyone up for this please?

We are planning a holiday (though haven't actually booked anything yet) in August school holidays. I am in need of much princessing 😬.

My plan is:

  • healthy eating; plenty of fruit, veg, wholefoods, lots of water. As my name would suggest, I am a bit of a fatkins at the mo Blush, so losing a few lbs would be a good idea.
  • minimum of four days a week with no Wine or Gin.
  • lots of water.
  • less caffeine.
  • yoga every day, including two - three classes.
  • less screen time, except kindle, which doesn't have the 'bad' light.
  • exfoliate daily.
  • file feet daily.
  • paint toes weekly.
  • buff and file finger nails a few times a week.
  • use gradual tan lotion stuff.
  • curly girl method for hair and also speak to wonderful hairdresser about growing hair without it going to pieces.
  • wardrobe clear out and reorganise.
  • ask about teeth whitening at dentist.

I'm sure there are more, but that's all I can think of for now!

Would love some company Smile.

PS: apologies if there is one of these on the go already!

Congratulations MrScaryBunny! That's worth celebrating!

Snipples, omg that's exciting! I fell pregnant with dc2 when I was on a princessing thread! Couldn't figure out why I was gaining weight and was on a major health kick 😂. Turned out it was dc2. Lovely surprise baby and a lovely baby, if I do say so myself Smile.

Welcome donii Smile. It's a lovely thread.

70isalimit, oooooh bikini shopping is a great motivator! Good for you!

All good here. I am fake tanned and nails lovely etc. I've been making an effort with makeup too. All for the family graduation yesterday. Due to said graduation and staying away from home though, diet has taken a bit of a nose dive! I'm back on it from tomorrow though with vegan slimfast. Just for a few days till I'm back on track. No booze either! I had a few drinks yesterday to celebrate. It was lovely, but it does my waistline no favours at all.

Hope everyone else is well and having lovely weekends!

Hair-dye done

Bought some bodyscrub (I do like the Korean Italy cloths but I am not in the mood to have a long bath today)

Plan to buy:
some tan accelerator (might try Foxx Tan one) and actually USE it Blush
buy a new epilator for my legs

70isaLimitNotaTarget · 21/07/2019 21:02

What does everyone do for holiday toiletries ?
Do you buy something nice to take away or take all the small travel bottles that you've gathered?

Last year I saved a bottle of Korres showergel from a multipack (it was Santorini Vine) which was nice but not my favourite Korres one .
I took some small Nuxe bottles and loved them ( the Aftersun and the oil) .
I'm idly looking at suncare for the holiday , is ot worth buying Nuxe (nice smell but ££ and small)
Or use high factor Malibu and keep the Nuxe for evening.

Loads of the shops have sales on at the moment , I looked in M&S for some of their TShirt dresses but nothing I liked .

Hey 70 - I'm just going to take full size products with me on hols as we're away for 10 days and the small ones never have enough.

purplefig · 22/07/2019 11:13

@Fatkins your weekend sounds really fun. Funny about you falling pregnant while on this thread too and not being able to work out the weight gain!

@70isaLimitNotaTarget happy swimwear shopping! I feel like in the last few years the options and quality have really improved.

Well I've kept up with the daily Nivea body moisturiser and my skin is loving it! Still pretty reptilian looking, but I think it might be improving. I've also kept up with a basic skincare routine (cerave cleanser, the ordinary hyaluronic acid, superdrug hydrating serum, the ordinary moisturising factors, and SPF in the day time) and my face is feeling much better too. I'm steering clear of acids for the moment, and focusing on getting some much needed moisture in.

Fatkins · 23/07/2019 14:29

Hi all!

How is everyone doing?

Purple, thank you. It was a lovely weekend Smile.

70, I tend to bring full sized bottles as we so rarely go abroad for holidays! Travel size toiletries would just be a waste for me.

All good here, but diet has gone out the window today. It's so fecking hot! Too hot for makeup etc, but at least I'm drinking plenty of water Grin.

I bought suntan lotion to stash away for later (high factor)

Last year I vowed I'd only buy spray/pump bottles , trying to rub on a cream lotion guarentees I'll miss a bit . (I used a cream on my face/neck though)

Anyone tried the Foxx Tan accelerator? I was swithering over it .

70isaLimitNotaTarget · 28/07/2019 18:33

There is very little in the shops now (it's only July still ) most of them are onto A/W .

I had a look through my Summer clothes , decided what I need for holiday clothing. Got some swishy shorts and ordered a couple of kaftan/cover ups from eBay .

70isaLimitNotaTarget · 01/08/2019 23:23

Soooooooooooooooooooooo

It's August now . Official.

I need a couple of vesty tops for holiday wear (and to wear before hand when its warm)

I got two tops ( nice a drapey, enough to cover bra straps . Material ok, not cotton but they;ll do the job)

And a shed load of M&S beauty (£15 off if you spend £70 on Beauty) some for holidays , some for now .

70isaLimitNotaTarget · 04/08/2019 18:08

Anyone still Princessing or have y'all gone off on holiday?

I did a hairpack over night , just rinsed it out this morning and tied my hair back (it'll need washed tomorrow)

I used one of those co-wash shampoo/condtioners last week and Eurgh, my scalp reacted , went really scabby . So I'll have to stop using that one .

Bought myself a new epilator Grin . It is really nifty , takes out hairs that are just poking through skin. I am unreasonably excited .
But there is no way this is getting near my underarms . I'll stick with sugaring for my pits .

thisenglishlife · 05/08/2019 14:04

Hi everyone and congratulations on your pregnancy @fatkins

I've bought some new beauty bits and pieces as a treat recently: Clarins face mask (comfort nourishing balm), Revlon cushion lip tint (a creamy lip stain), some Chanel Coco Mademoiselle perfume (was £10 off and I got £10 of points too) and a bottle of Shea Moisture Coconut & Hibiscus Illuminating Body Lotion (so good!).

I was looking for a nice small tan handbag for everyday use with easy opening and access. I found a nice one by Vera Pelle.

I also bought a nice Maya dress for my cousin's wedding celebration garden party (the contrasting embellishments are really nice and eye-catching).

August holiday princessing?
LaVieilleHarpie · 05/08/2019 19:45

Every day is a princessing day! :D

Today was fairly light though. I did my gel polish last night. Today I started the Strong Curves programme (I WILL get that huge butt if it's the last thing I do!)

Had a lovely bath with some Floris oil in it. Deep-conditioned hair and rinsed with rice water for protein and volume. Now sitting with Decleor goo on my face, body all moisturised, and waiting for hair to air-dry a bit before I blow dry it with the Babyliss thingy.

Tomorrow will be more skincare-oriented for sure. :))

Goawayquickly · 05/08/2019 20:02

I’ve loved reading this thread, it’s inspired me to get a haircut and sort my feet out as the hot weather in July made me feel a bit of a wreck.

wiltingflower · 07/08/2019 13:11

Hope everyone is having a lovely August!

I've been drinking water, watching my portions and doing couch to 5k (week 6). Also in the process of growing out my eyebrows and they're a bit unruly as a result.

I bought a summer haul of nice things to wear around the house and away and some new make up.

I was trying to princess for my graduation and now for a last minute holiday in a few days. I love the concept of princessing- it's the mini countdowns and preparation and reading what everyone else is doing that makes it so fun.

purplefig · 07/08/2019 15:21

I bought the Revlon On Step dryer/brush/thingy and I must say, it's really rather good. I have long, thick hair that takes an age to air dry. I roughly towel dried it, left it for about 30 mins to air dry a bit and then attacked with Revlon. It was dry and styled in about 20 minutes!

Snipples · 08/08/2019 06:55

Hello all, i've missed loads of messages for some reason!

Just back from our hols, oh we had such a fab time away, weather was perfect and managed to completely refresh. Trying to get back into keto again now but only put on 2lbs or so over the 10 days we were away which was an achievement as the resort didn't have any diet drinks and I ate a fair bit of rice, noodles and pasta!

Am now sporting a nice tan which I'm happy about. Got my bangs freshly cut in just before we left. I've been lathering on body oil and moisturiser to keep skin in good condition and then while away I had a lovely facial and body scrub so feeling very princessy indeed.

Who is next off on hols?

70isaLimitNotaTarget · 11/08/2019 18:02

We're going in October so I have ages Grin

We did an October holiday a couple of years ago, it was a bit weird but nice to be flying off to sunny climates when the weather at home was manky .

I think I've bought everything I need , I'm not looking for any more Summer clothes.

I'll book a trim either before or after (I'm growing it , really pleased at the moment , it's past the Post-Pixie-Mullet and now a bob )

My legs are a weird blend of freckles and veins (but at least now they are hair free) so I'll do a light fake tan.

snipples · 27/08/2019 10:32

Is this still going @Fatkins?

Hope you're all well. We just found out No.2 is on their way so I can add "trying to avoid stretchmarks" to my list!

In other news I've been using Pixi Glow Tonic and think it's made an improvement in my skin.

How is everyone else doing?
