WideWebWitch · 16/07/2007 09:27

Hello! This is week four of the SIXTH boot camp of 2007 everyone is welcome.

The rules (anyone can join):

This is about feeling better about yourself...not necessarily a diet per se etc etc

  • Sunscreen at all times
  • No or little booze. Wine at the weekend is allowed if you want it
  • Walking is important, a small amount every day if possible. 30 mins if you can
  • Lots of water, aim for 2 litres a day
  • Apply body cream as often as possible
  • Use hand cream
  • Go to bed early, by 10.30pm if pos
  • Eat healthily
  • Be happy

The idea is that at the end of six weeks we all feel happier, healthier and glow with the good food, sleep, exercise, water and lack of sun

Anyone who feels like it, post how you've been feeling since doing this and why you want to keep doing it. Add what you want to achieve at the end of it too if you want to.

Cheers m'dears.

I have finally bought some more Spatone. Both DH and I feel tired and are probably anaemic - I know the late nights don't help but an iron boost will do us a lot of good. I'm going to have 2 sachets a day for a week and then have one a day on an almost permanent basis.

Didn't get to run this morning but DS1 & DD2 and I all had a longish walk with the dog - I put DD2 in the pushchair so it was quite brisk!

Winnie - I await further news with great anticipation!!! Congratulations on the clothes, that's wonderful.

Well done bamamama too!

I expect tshell is busy thinking of what to do with todays eggs

WideWebWitch · 18/07/2007 19:02

Winnie, that sounds fab. wow at clothes! Fantastic!

Well done bamamama and fab that your ds is walking.

Yoyo, welcome back! Sorry life is stressful, here, have a get out of jail free card on the wine. It's needed sometimes at stressful times

Norksbride, well done on running yesterday, most impressive.

Marina, glad your mum is well enough to berate people.

MI, sorry to hear about your leg, yes, re 87 yo neighbour, my grandfather was an 87 yo smoker and drinker too!

Batters, 12000 steps is fantastic, I'm so impressed now I know how far that is. I searched for my moron yesterday and couldn't find it anywhere, may buy another, I found it so motivating having it.

Ts, poached eggs, were they nicer than normal eggs?

Not too bad

100g granola
ham, mustard and tomato wholemeal sandwich, no butter
blueberries
loads of water
was given a piece of birthday cake at work and ate the icing and chucked the rest in the bin
a Hob Nob, someone offered one to me and it caught me at starving 4 o'clock
a couple of brazils/walnuts/goji berries

that's it. This is day 5 of no booze and lots of sleep and I'm feeling a lot better for it. I'm still coughing but went back to work and feel MUCH better than I did, phew.

So, now I'm doing well on food and booze and body lotion (all over last 3 days) so just need to get back into walking again.

Feel fairly motivated though, so that's good.

Right, will stop boring everyone about chickens - although you could see my blog if you want to see some pictures!

Back to boot camp now.

swedishmum · 18/07/2007 23:33

Batters, I'm a dyslexia "specialist" - the website is advertising for me obviously, but to provide a support and advice network for parents.
I've decided I don't look too too bad. This thread has got me wearing make-up on a daily basis for the first time in years, and at dd1's awards do today (she's Y8) I really don't look too old compared with other parents. I have a big weight problem I'm working on slowly but have decided to wear nice clothes now rather than when I get thin. A positive attitude goes a long way!

Eggs on toast were DELICIOUS! Ds1 is determined that he is going to make cakes for his teachers at the end of term using our eggs, which I'm sure deserves many 'earth mother, organic brownie points!'

WideWebWitch · 19/07/2007 18:41

Ate pizza last night but never mind.

Not a wonderful day but not terrible either

100g granola
a small banana
homemade wholmeal ham and tomato sandwich, no butter
a kit kat
a packet of vegetable crips, prob about 250 cals but at least they're vegetable
and have just come in and had 5 slices of salami, some cherries and a mini packet of chocolate buttons
loads of water
no wine, day 6 now and I really feel so, so much better for it, I may keep it up after the anitbiotics, it's feeling like a habit not to drink now.
And will have an early night, last night was 11pm - 6am and 7 hours isn't enough, even without wine.

One day of warm weather and I am feeling completely dehydrated Am sat here covered in lotions and potions having just drunk almost a ltre of extra water. It's very odd.

Good day bootcampwise again. Really feel in my stride at the moment

Oh Batters & Swedishmum, I really need some new clothes.

Onwards and upwards everyone

iota · 19/07/2007 22:25

hello all
I am sort of still here but not doing very well - I seem to have given up - have had several glasses of. wine tonight.

I watched 'How to look good naked' last night (some obscure channel I think ) and decided that dressing appropriately rather than losing weight might be the way forward for me. I don't think I can face the 'control pants' though

winnie · 20/07/2007 11:38

Where is everyone?

bamamama · 20/07/2007 19:57

(bamamama creeps in quietly) Friday already? Must be, wine is open . Not had too bad a day today if you discount three huge chocolate chip cookies. I'm feeling a bit stressed at the mo as the fact that I'm moving around the world in 3 weeks still hasn't kicked in and I have so much to do. So, what am I doing? MNing of course.....
www - found your moron yet? batters lol at dd! t/shell what egg delight are you having for tea this evening? Enjoy your Friday night ladies...I'm off to think about what I need to pack.....x

yoyo · 20/07/2007 21:47

I'm here too. Not doing so well with food but did go to the gym tonight. Am about to watch a film with DH too so more wine (already had some with supper) but will snuggle on the sofa and that is good. Haven't been posting as I seem to be moaning all the time and I don't really have a reason to moan. Life is busy and trying but that is all (as I keep reminding myself). Must work harder on being positive and definitely need to be more confident about myself and my abilities (SAHM for too long I fear).

Have a great weekend everyone. Hope it isn't piddling down where you are!

SimplySparkling · 20/07/2007 22:05

I've skipped through the thread, sorry, as I haven't seen it before tonight.

Marina - I hope your Mum feels and gets much better very soon and you too.

www - Thanks for the thread and I hope you're much better now.

My food intake today was ridiculous. Best to draw a veil, I think.

My exercise this week hasn't been that good as I haven't walked the dog each night as either dh has been here and he has done it or it has been raining constantly and so the dog and I (?) have done housework all day instead. I may be getting somewhere on the hunt for an au pair. If so, it's getting scary. I could be one month away from her arriving and I'll be away on hols for 2 wks of that time.

I need to wind down before bed so I'll go and read for a bit. Night all.

SimplySparkling · 20/07/2007 22:10

Forgot to say, on the plus side, I've booked a hair appointment for next Friday with someone who a work colleague recommends. I know, I still haven't put up photos from the last time and Dingle did. She looked great! I fancy a change but don't know what.

SimplySparkling · 20/07/2007 22:17

Forgot this too.

How I've been feeling since being on this bootcamp thread:- More in control of things. I have the rules in my head and that helps me.

Why I want to keep doing it:- To build on what I've done already.

What I want to achieve at the end of it:- Be fitter from more exercise, have more time for me and spend less time on housework (this is where the au pair comes in), be more toned so clothes look better, maybe start wearing contact lenses again because I think I hide behind my glasses. I think I want to decide about my work, too. I'm not sure I want to carry on with my current (long standing) employer. I don't know what else to do but I will have time to consider it once I've got other things sorted.

WideWebWitch · 22/07/2007 08:25

Hello
yesterday
100g granola
blueberries
lentils with roasted veg
some 3 bean salad
a bit of cous cous
2 veg spring rolls
some more lentils
some strawberries, grapes, blueberries and a tiny bit of vanilla ice cream
more lentils with chillis
sweet popcorn (we watched a film again)
no wine (day 7 of no booze)
and I was going to have an early night and was in bed by 9 but picked up a book and was reading it until 12.45 when I finished it (Anne Robinsons memoirs of an unfit mother)
never mind, I feel ok today, didn't get up until 7.20am
