What do you think of my wedding dress

Getting married in 3 weeks, low key affair. Just the 4 kids and the 2 of us in a registry office.

Bought a dress I love but DD14 has said she hates it and I look like something from the 80s so has given me a crisis of confidence and thinking maybe this is the wrong choice!

Would appreciate some impartial and objective views.... thanks

From an 80s teen, there is nothing 80s about it! It's a gorgeous dress and you look stunning. X

onalongsabbatical · 30/11/2018 08:47

Great update, I think the asos dress is a MUCH better choice if only because it's more 'special' but also a simpler more dramatic style. And as the DD likes it you can now relax! You will look fab I'm sure OP, have a lovely wedding! Flowers

GinIsIn · 30/11/2018 09:02

Oh I’m so happy to hear that! Photo please! Have an AMAZING day! Xx

minisoksmakehardwork · 30/11/2018 09:10

The important thing is regardless of what anyone else thinks, you have said you love it. If you are wearing something you love, you will be happy and comfortable in any photos you have. Unfortunately people placing doubt in your mind because of their likes and dislikes means you'll end up feeling judged the whole day.

A 14 year old will have very different style ideas to her mum. tbh I'd think at her age she needs to learn some tact.

minisoksmakehardwork · 30/11/2018 09:11

Clearly I missed an important update. Hope you have a lovely day.

Tighnabruaich · 30/11/2018 13:37

Can we see you in the new dress?
I agree with those who thought the original one swamped you a bit. And I too think you have great legs and are probably hiding a fab figure.

DaisyRenton18 · 30/11/2018 20:42

Gosh, that ASOS dress is truly beautiful. You must feel amazing in it.
Have a wonderful day, OP.

Moominfan · 30/11/2018 20:47

I'm sorry but I don't like it, not that it matters it's if you like it

ClaireElizabethBeauchampFraser · 30/11/2018 22:04

I would love to see an updated photo of you in the ASOS dress OP!

crimsonlake · 30/11/2018 22:13

Sorry it is a no from me, I do not think it does anything for you at all. Agree about your fab legs.

Autumnnymph · 30/11/2018 23:03

OP, is this the one you finally decided on ? m.asos.com/maya-tall/maya-tall-sequin-cape-detail-midi-bridesmaid-dress-with-high-low-hem/prd/8836244?clr=micro-chip&SearchQuery=&cid=17245&gridcolumn=2&gridrow=4&gridsize=2&pge=1&pgesize=72&totalstyles=27

It’s gorgeous!

Pic of you in it please!

I'm with your daughter - the lace is too fussy, the colour is too bland and the dress is too short for the style. Shoes are fine
However if you feel comfortable in it - you go for it.

Piggyhoolier · 01/12/2018 20:52

Perfect! Wishing you a beautiful wedding day
