What do you think of my wedding dress

Getting married in 3 weeks, low key affair. Just the 4 kids and the 2 of us in a registry office.

Bought a dress I love but DD14 has said she hates it and I look like something from the 80s so has given me a crisis of confidence and thinking maybe this is the wrong choice!

Would appreciate some impartial and objective views.... thanks

What do you think of my wedding dress

It looks beautiful, love it! Really nice xx

Toooldtobedoingthis · 27/11/2018 21:14

@Avegemitesandwich I do like the pink dress, but am very pale (verging on blue) so I think I'd just merge into the dress!

Sorry I don't like it. It's too frumpy and fussy. simplyput's link is lovely. simpler and more modern.

MotherOfDragonite · 27/11/2018 21:16

That's very now! Batsheva Hay is a fashion designer creating even more out-there riffs on this kind of look and all the slebs seem to love it...

2cats2many · 27/11/2018 21:16

I love it! You'll look sensational.

DancingInTheCellar · 27/11/2018 21:16

Sorry but it does nothing for you. You have a good figure and it does look limp, as another PP said. The top half is far too fussy and shapeless, the elasticated waist is awful, the skirt not too bad.

mswilliamnot · 27/11/2018 21:16

Sorry don’t like it. But as others said, whatever makes you feel comfortable

Marnimajor · 27/11/2018 21:17

I normally love Needle and Thread dresses (have one myself) but this colour looks drab on you and the proportions are off (waist in wrong place but if you hitched it up the skirt would be too short). You have a wonderful figure though!

Toooldtobedoingthis · 27/11/2018 21:17

@Beahun - I love that dress, but I have huge boobs and it's backless so not sure I could carry it off. But it's absolutely beautiful

Looks very nice indeed.

Singlenotsingle · 27/11/2018 21:18

It would have looked more elegant if it'd been longer

Piggyhoolier · 27/11/2018 21:19

Think you look nice because you have a good figure, but the dress is wearing you a bit.

What about This

DrDillWithIt · 27/11/2018 21:19

I love it!

BelladonnaKebab · 27/11/2018 21:20

I love it!!! I would walk past it in a shop but it looks lovely on you and now i want it too! If you love it then wear it. Congratulations!

Fingermoose · 27/11/2018 21:20

I think you have a fantastic figure and not sure the dress fits your shape around the middle. Asos.com have loads of nice dresses in cream, beige, gold and silver. I've picked a couple that are a similar shape and length to that one:

Lipsy

Chi Chi London

There are lots that are midi or maybe too eveningy but worth a browse.

Mummyshark2018 · 27/11/2018 21:20

You look fab in it and I do like it (for another occasion), but not for your wedding day, even if you want low key. But it's your day and you should wear what you feel fabulous in!

BerriTerri · 27/11/2018 21:21

You have a great figure and you’ll look lovely in whatever you chose. If you feel happy and comfortable just wear it.

MotherOfDragonite · 27/11/2018 21:21

Oh, and because I didn't say outright -- I love it! I think it really suits your figure and looks great.

Joinourclub · 27/11/2018 21:23

I think it looks good on you. And I bet it looks better in real life than in the blurry photo!

MotherOfDragonite · 27/11/2018 21:23

Also, btw -- never let a 14 year old dictate your clothing choice. That way madness lies! And weird style choices!

Beahun · 27/11/2018 21:23

Couldn’t see that you have big boobs, sorry.
How about this?

Toooldtobedoingthis · 27/11/2018 21:24

@FenellaMaxwellsPony love that dress, will order as another option (if it passes the 14 year old test!)., and will then canvas more opinions!

I don't like it, I think it hides your lovely figure, I would get a seamstress to tailor it
