What do you think of my wedding dress

Getting married in 3 weeks, low key affair. Just the 4 kids and the 2 of us in a registry office.

Bought a dress I love but DD14 has said she hates it and I look like something from the 80s so has given me a crisis of confidence and thinking maybe this is the wrong choice!

Would appreciate some impartial and objective views.... thanks

It looks like a cheap dress, and as a cheap dress it's fine. Just fine, not great.

You have a lovely figure and a generous budget. Pick one of the other suggestions.

And have a lovely day!

OHolyNightOwl · 27/11/2018 21:24

I love it and think you look fantastic in it.

Toooldtobedoingthis · 27/11/2018 21:27

@Beahun that's gorgeous as well - thanks!

If you lobe it great. Wear it.

Personally its not my style and i dont like kt but if you cant imagine anything else then do it

Summer23 · 27/11/2018 21:28

I think you have a lovely figure and you should wear something more special. You’re the bride 👰

Crazyladee · 27/11/2018 21:29

I feel awful saying this but I don't like it. I echo another posters comment about dusty curtains!

Having said that, it's your day and your dress so if you love it, just wear it and to hell what everyone else thinks.

Beahun · 27/11/2018 21:31

Please let us know what you will choose.Congratulation on your wedding x

FloatingthroughSpace · 27/11/2018 21:31

I don't like the top. It makes you look wide across the shoulders; I think something that plunges a bit at neckline would be more flattering.
I have immense leg envy. Mine have never in my life been that good 😫

Disfordarkchocolate · 27/11/2018 21:34

This site has some fabulous dresses. I quite like what you already have but I think the top half isn't very flattering.

thingywotsit · 27/11/2018 21:38

Another few more for consideration. I always think that have the dress tailored to you makes the world of difference as well.

It's ok, but just a little bit too frilly and fussy.

What about these:

I think that you could wear literally anything and make it look great. But your figure would be shown off more in something with simpler lines.

Coronapop · 27/11/2018 21:45

Too frilly. A long classic style might be more appropriate - and less likely to upset teens.

whatsnewchoochoo · 27/11/2018 21:49

I don't like it, I think it will date really quickly

Coronapop · 27/11/2018 21:51

I am mystified by comments about your figure - it could be any shape at all under those flounces.

whatsnewchoochoo · 27/11/2018 21:52

LOVE this from ASOS! www.asos.com/prd/8941176

Would consider a longer dress?

GinIsIn · 27/11/2018 21:52

Glad you like it! Have a look at the bridesmaids section on ASOS - loads there!

Rarfy · 27/11/2018 21:52

You have fantastic legs! Don't like the top half of the dress at all i'm afraid.

OrcinusOrca · 27/11/2018 21:54

I don't know if it's just the photo but it looks like it isn't hanging quite right on your waist, which makes me not keen.

adoggymum · 27/11/2018 21:57

I'm 19, so can see where your daughter is coming from tbf, I think it's one of those 'older looking' dresses that for reason look better on younger people/skinny models🤔

I wouldn't say it looks like a wedding dress either (more like a guest dress) but like people have said- if you love it, you wear it! It's your wedding.

But you asked for opinions so I've given you my honest one.

QueenofallIsee · 27/11/2018 21:57

I have been properly looking at this for 10 mins, trying to decide why I don’t like it as I would normally definitely like the style. I’ve concluded that to carry off the top part, it (in my opinion) should be a midi length. It’s too short for the style and it throws off the proportions. I’d try similar but longer length.

I hope I haven’t been harsh! Have a wonderful wedding!

ItsClemFandangoCanYouHearMe · 27/11/2018 21:58

I love the dress and it really suits your figure, although without opening the picture I can see where your DD is coming from.

I think you should wear what you feel good in!
