@CottonHeadedNinyMuggins how strange! That cream is HG for me! Just goes to show how there is no one size fits all.

Forgive me father for I have sinned!
I bought the Amazon advent today and have started eyeing up the M&S one!!!

And I think I am going to have a massive Superdrug or Boots splurge... I can just feel it coming!!!

My Fortnum and Mason advent arrived today, feels really heavy! Wont be peaking in any doors early though. I have 3 now, may end up with another one though🤭 Its so exciting though i just cant help it!

IPokeBadgers · 30/10/2019 21:06

Haven't been up to much lately but have just finished up a Lidl Cien shampoo (the one that looks like pantene bottle! ), One of my antiperspirant sprays from my stockpile stash and a tub of elemis rose cleansing balm.

The shampoo was basic but worked fine... might buy again in future. I have decided to finish all and any antiperspirant sprays I have and then I won't buy anymore as I think roll on ones work better for me. And I didn't like the elemis rose balm....there is an underlying smell that I only noticed when using the product, so I will stick with the original balm in future because it is a holy grail product for me.

CottonHeadedNinyMuggins · 31/10/2019 08:28

Used up 2 shower gels from the collection, one used normally but the other I only used 5/6 washes up on cos I genuinely couldn't take its smell anymore, it was too much. Life is too short for bad shower gel (treaclemoon vanilla - avoid!)

The honeycomb one was alright, nothing special that would make me want to rush out and buy it again.

Experiment627 · 01/11/2019 08:03

I usually use up showergels I am not fond of to wash my 🍈 🍈 holders (aka bras).

Um... not sure what came over me.... now have two advents!!! I really need to STOP!!! And also sort through my stash and send off stuff to local women's shelter.

I had a facial yesterday in my hime with Urban Massage - was bloody amazeballs!!! The therapist was quite stern with my current routine and gave me lots of top tips as well as squeezing out my blackheads 🙌🏼🙌🏼🙌🏼

Finished a very old bottle of eye make up remover. Body shop camomile used to be my fave but I buy pretty much nothing in the body shop these days. As a product it's fine, don't know if it has been reformulated in the last few years....I dread to think how old this was!

Fell off the thread.

Empties:

Take the day off lotion - full size
Body shop navy eyeliner - sharpened to within an inch of its life and just can’t use it anymore.
White company grapefruit shower gel (mini one)
Clinique cleansing gel. Nice to use but is very watery - not as “gel-ly” as I thought it’d be.

Am leaning towards the M&S beauty calender....

Caggie09 · 02/11/2019 17:29

111 skin rose sheet mask. Find really effective.. plenty in my "backstock"Grin

Garnier micellar water. Really bored of this now, always find it smells funny as i get to the bottom of the bottle. Going to tey others out.

Mdm flow greater than mascara. Nice, lasted ages, ended up with black marks under my eyes as the day went on though...

Body pudding body cream. Cheap and cheerful, really nice! Would buy if i seen it again, but dont need to as have plenty of body stuff..

M&s Nail polish in Cashmere. Crap formula on these, nice colour though.

Flourish beauty dead sea salth bath soak. I liked these, but its a bath salt, cant say if they actuallu did anything. Found in TKMaxx whike having a ratchGrin

Trying to use up stuff before advent starts so im not overflowing with stuff!

Experiment627 · 02/11/2019 20:44

Wowzers! @IPokeBadgers that bottle looks very old! At least 5 years if not more!!!

I had a bit of a sort through stash and have put stuff aside for woman's shelter. Basically stash is really only lip balm, face primers and hand cream but I have a fair few body creams open and in use.

I caved and bought two he soap n glory advent calender.

CottonHeadedNinyMuggins · 03/11/2019 09:37

I watched an opening of the Soap and Glory one - it does seem really good value. Even more so at 31.50 currently. Each item is... I think about £1.30.

ememem84 · 03/11/2019 13:16

That’s what I thought. I had a look on feel unique and saw the opi hello kitty’s one which I toyed with but I tend to herb my nails done once a month so no real point hoarding nail polish.

CottonHeadedNinyMuggins · 03/11/2019 18:54

Last few days:

'No7 Radiant Results Revitalising Daily Face Polish ' - was lovely but nothing massively special about it as it didn't make my face feel any better than other brands. I'd buy it again if on offer - but I wouldn't choose it over any others. I have loads of Loreal facial scrub to get through - approx 4 tubes at least so won't be needing to think about which to buy for a good while...!

Also used up OGX Tea Tree and mint shampoo and binned the conditioner that went with it too (not a massive amount left in it) - I wouldn't buy again as it didn't make my hair feel nice when washing or drying. I would - and have - buy the OGX Coconut Water shampoo and conditioner again though as that was lovely.

Prai Ageless throat and decolletage cream sample from M&S advent calendar last year - Was very nice and smelt lovely. Didn't notice any change but it was a small jar. The actual jar is beautiful though and I'll be reusing it to take jewellery away with me for overnight stays.

LivingDeadGirlUK · 04/11/2019 14:45

Aldi lime shower gel - its one my dad left behind and its a bit naff to be honest.

Thrown away a body shop eyeshadow thats gone hard. I honestly dont know if I will ever make a dent in my make up, a lot of it is years old and I do worry its going to go manky first.

Experiment627 · 07/11/2019 08:56

@ememem84 two of the same advents?

I have a major issue.... Tati Westbrook, one of the many beauty influencers I watch (well used before baby came) has brought out a pallet..... how to resist?????? 😬😬😬

I had high hopes for my trip away and using stuff up but have only managed the following:

  • a bamboo sheet face mask
  • a snail rejuvenation face mask
  • Body Shop body yogurt pink grapefruit: I love the scent and like the light texture and feel of the cream

I will do my best to resist any purchases in the airport BUT I will need a new face cream soon.....

ememem84 · 07/11/2019 09:58

HAha. No. Just one. No idea how that happened!

70isaLimitNotaTarget · 07/11/2019 10:49

Finished up a tube of M&S Face Footner (Radiance Peel)
Finished up a tube of Beach London hair mask ( Regenaerate or something, the tube is metal so all rolled up)

Found a mini jar of Prai cream and as I couldm't be bothered going to my bedroom to find my usual one , I put this on my entire face ........it is nice . I know its for the throat might be too heavy for my face , so I might look for the face cream. My face feels really smooth now Grin

ememem84 · 11/11/2019 21:45

Sanctuary scrub finished. Nice enough but the smells a bit wierd for my liking. Tropically and sweet.

Have a wet skin moisturiser to use up next.

Caggie09 · 12/11/2019 10:02

Dove body wash. Basic..

Lacura pink clay mask -okay, cant tell if it done anything. Bought as dupe of sand and sky

Batiste original dry shampoo. Liked this.

Garnier delicate oat 600ml shampoo. This has lasted me months, i probably used far to much to finish it off, but im bored of it, and the little bit left wont be enough for another wash. Glad to have it gone🥳

Josh Wood everything mask. Did not like this, not suitable for near the roots as made my hair greasy the morning after washing. Put me off trying other products from this brand tbh. Not suited for my hair.

Crabtree&Evelyn hand cream. Used it up mostly on my feet. Nice scent

Elemis Pro Collagen balm. Love this, bought the recent TSV to top up.

Bin.

B.pure micellar wipes- had these years, dried out. Dont use wipes anymore!

Magnitone microfibre cloth. Waste if time really, might aswell use micellar water then cleanse.. feels like it pulls on my skin. Going to use it for cleaning the house!

Two peel masks that are full of glitter. Dont want to put glitter on my face as i doubt it has any benefit!

IPokeBadgers · 12/11/2019 20:48

Finished off an elemis body cream, sweet orchid. Don't think they do it anymore but I wouldn't repurchase.

Very proud of myself as didn't succumb to the QVC TSV....I made myself pull all my unopened Elemis out if the cupboard and gave myself a stern talking to! Grin

ememem84 · 12/11/2019 22:10

My soap and glory calendar arrived. I am desperate to open it.

RoseyPeas · 14/11/2019 22:18

In the last couple of weeks I've used up:

Aveeno bath oil (quite gloopy, but that may be due to its age Shock but I won't replace it)

Dove handwash - nothing special, does the job

Almond oil - which is my new favourite thing.to put on my face at night. I would definitely replace.- had I not.still for about 3 bottles in cupboardGrin

Lamentations · 16/11/2019 10:34

I enjoy lurking on this thread so much. So satisfying to read about other people using up beauty products, why is that?

My stash is enormous. A large, deep drawer full of make up and perfume, a set of three drawers in the wardrobe full of general toiletries and skincare, an overspill basket in the wardrobe, a full bathroom cabinet, bottles and jars all across the bathroom windowsill and around the bath...

I love to have the choice, so I wouldn't want to run it down to nothing but it's a bit out of hand and I worry about things spoiling while they wait to be used.

I've used a few things up this week which have coincidentally come to their end:

Elizabeth Arden 8 hour Nighttime Miracle Moisturiser. I love this but not every night, very thick and it's still all over my face in the morning but I kind of like that. A repurchase and I've got another waiting in the wardrobe.

Nip and Fab Bee Sting Fix Repairing Shot. Not quite sure what this is, I bought it from TK Maxx and thought it was a serum but it was like a thin oily water. Not awful but I wouldn't buy it again. Using it up has meant I could crack open a LRP Hyalu B5 serum, which I've used before and really liked. I've also opened a big bottle of Advanced Night Repair that I bought with my Boots points - very excited to start that.

Emma Hardie Protect and Prime SPF moisturiser. Nice, but stings my eyes a bit and smells a bit like insect repellent. There's another one in the wardrobe, which I will use but probably won't replace. I bought a massive set of full sized EH marked down loads in TK Maxx and I really like it in general. The Moringa balm is lovely, I have only halfway down and another... in the wardrobe!

70isaLimitNotaTarget · 16/11/2019 20:55

I have a bottle of gel cleanser from Primark that I can open now because I used up a Superdrug Micellar cleanser .

I have some empty BodyShop bottles ( Ginger Shampoo and Shea Coconut Shower gel) keeping the bottles because they're doing an offer if you take 5 in...though I cannot remember what the offer is )

DS is nearly through a 300ml bottle of Bulldog shower gel .

I get all the Nearly Dones and put them on the side of the bath, and hide everything else .. Then when the empties are out , I can replenish

RiskIt4Biscuit · 16/11/2019 23:50

I’ve finished a Revolution conceal and define concealer. It was okay, but creased and I probably will not buy it again.

I’ve finished a Nars radiant creamy concealer, which was lovely and I will buy again. But I do have some more concealers to use up before I buy a new one.

Clinique Take the Day Off eye and lip makeup remover. Love this, will buy again, but have some micellar water that I want to use up first.

Used up some Simple soap bars, so will buy more of those tomorrow - my DH will not use scented soaps, and we prefer soap bars over shower gels and liquid hand soap.

Lastly, I’ve finished a Maria Nila Heal shampoo. I absolutely love this, and will buy again when I find it on offer. I do have a lot of other shampoos to use up, so it is no rush.
