Haha @Experiment627 I was in the metrocentre with my mam today and she bought me the M&S calendar we'll have to rate the content together

ememem84 · 03/11/2018 20:16

experiment oooh 6 weeks?!?! Has he smiled yet? I was looking at pics of ds this time last year. Today a year ago he smiled for the first time. See pic.

I’m desperate for hand cream. I have none in the house having relegated it to work!!!

PurpleNailVarnish · 03/11/2018 21:23

@IPokeBadgers good going on resisting the advent calendars. Me too!

Anyone who has calendar(s) please post about the contents. Not going to lie, I want to live vicariously through you all please.
@DragonNoodleCake I nearly went for the M&S calendar too. Enjoy it.
Is that 4 calendars you've got @Experiment627? Excellent work

I'm sorry you've been feeling rough @CantChoose, it'll all pass soon enough. Which month is chooselet due?

I'm fussy @Notreallyhere23 but I love sheet masks though I completely understand that they can be fiddly. All sheet masks are definitely not made the same.

@ememem84 that is just the most gorgeous picture. He's lovely.

DragonNoodleCake · 03/11/2018 21:30

@PurpleNailVarnish I have a gin one too

ememem84 · 03/11/2018 21:32

Thanks purple that’s the day I knew I absolutely adored ds. I mean it was a given right from day one. But when he smiled at me. That was it. He’s now 13 months. And when I arrived home today he cheered. If that isn’t love hen what is?!

PurpleNailVarnish · 03/11/2018 21:49

Can you describe your gin calendar in real time DragonNoodleCake? Preferably while you are drinking it Grin

Oh emem cheering when you come in is brilliant! That's the sort of thing that makes everything better.

AnotherPinkiePieStory · 04/11/2018 07:51

Ooh em that’s a gorgeous picture. Love to hear cheering. My DS did that too even if I’d only been out for 10 mins. Wonderful. He’s 8 now so only an occasional cheer!

Any pics of kwicklet please?

Gin you say dragon?
Will review body shop although had a couple of sneaky peeks! Seems very moisturiser heavy!

AnotherPinkiePieStory · 04/11/2018 07:53

Ooh and get well soon cant!

DragonNoodleCake · 04/11/2018 09:48

Yes @AnotherPinkiePieStory and @PurpleNailVarnish GIN! Sooo excited - even if I'm away on business first and second weeks of December. I will review my gins and M&S calendar at the same time

DragonNoodleCake · 04/11/2018 09:50

Gorgeous wee kwicklet

Another perfume empty....but only a 2ml tester this time of Flowerbomb. Had thought about investing in a full-size bottle at some point but now not sure. I liked it but not enough to justify the spend when I have so much.

ememem84 · 05/11/2018 21:19

Started being a bit more daring with my make up today. Rose gold shade sparkly eyeshadow. For a Monday. At work.

Experiment627 · 06/11/2018 02:43

I may have purchased advent 5

Notreallyhere23 · 06/11/2018 17:19

Can believe how much I’m getting rid of just by being a bit focussed!

Concealer gone- was quite old and not my fave, probably could have stretched it out a bit longer but didn’t want to!

Toner used up- one of the larger sized Clarins samples, nice enough but not necessary really, nothing particularly active in it.

A phyto hair cream- people rave about this, I didn’t like it at all.

Nuxe body oil spray- like it but not my fave, hate the spray, would buy the pouring bottle if I get it again.

However, I’ve also been given some stuff from my mum who has been getting duplicates in her birchboxes so I’m still on an equal figure of stuff!

SuzeD29 · 07/11/2018 08:05

Finished a shower gel and a hair mousse. On full size products now which take aaaaages

ememem84 · 07/11/2018 10:17

Have thrown away a green eyeliner pencil. I’ve been using this for the past 10 days and it’s just doesn’t suit me at all. So it’s gone.

Stick to black, brown or surprisingly navy blue in future.

Have also used up some micellar water (not the whole bottle) by pouring some into one of ds’ old bottles and using it to clean my make up brushes.

Today I am sporting a burnt orange eyeshadow. Which looks surprisingly good. From the urban decay born to run pallet.

twoblackdogs · 07/11/2018 18:17

So that's where everybody is! A sparkling new thread!

I am very pleased to announce that I still haven't bought any advent calendars. Am practically a hero. I still have some things from the last year's calendars, so I'm holding on.

One lip thing used up. Guerlain lip gloss, a present from three years ago. I saved it for a long time because it was so pretty, and then I thought - it could go bad, and where's joy in that? So I finally used it up today and took another lip gloss from my stash. My very big stash.

Oh well.

PurpleNailVarnish · 07/11/2018 18:25

I've still managed to abstain from any advent calendars but I did do the minimum spend for Feelunique free gift and the Cult Beauty one.
This must stop now, I have too much. Especially when I take into account the fact that I'm doing a lot of working away so I have an away suitcase and my home stuff and it's taking me twice as long to use anything up.

Incidentally, I think I've found a bit of a miracle product, testing is still underway. I'll report back when I have definitive results.

tinyradish · 08/11/2018 06:30

I finished up a full size Tropic cleanser & the mini I had too. I've used nothing but this cleanser for a few years now & have so many others - samples & full size, just sitting in my stash. I really want to use some of these up finally so I purposely haven't bought a Tropic backup so that I can. Regretting it now though because there's nothing my skin likes as much as that!

RiskIt4Biscuit · 08/11/2018 16:45

Finished a Skineffect active day face cream. It was nice and I would repurchase.
I read it is a dupe for the Charlotte Tilbury Magic Cream which I am not entirely sure is true - but it was a good moisturiser.

PurpleNailVarnish · 08/11/2018 18:55
  1. Fragonard heliotrope gingembre perfume This smells lovely but it makes me sneeze and seems to make other people sneeze too Confused so I won't buy it again.
  2. Simple gel face wash This has become my normal face wash now, I like it and it's as good as anything expensive I've found.
  3. L'Occitane almond shower oil I know some people on this thread don't like this oil but it's my favourite.

Samples:
Superdrug vitamin E body cream. Nice enough but nothing special.
Ameliorate body scrub. This is a good scrub but oddly I liked the smell much more in the summer.
Sisley black rose cream mask sample. This was good but there are other masks I prefer.
DCL C scape high potency night booster. Wow, I don't use this on my face because my face is too sensitive but on my neck this is a miracle worker, I've already bought the full size.

Experiment627 · 08/11/2018 19:20

Great progress @Notreallyhere23 !!!

um did I mention I got another advent??? Total 5 now

@PurpleNailVarnish cannot wait to hear about miracle product!!!

I have used up one advent calendar product!!!

  • Body Shop vanilla marshmallow shower gel 60ml: meh
OP posts:
PurpleNailVarnish · 08/11/2018 19:22

That's a shame @Experiment627, I had high hopes for the marshmallow stuff.
When are you opening your remaining calendars? I'm keen to hear about them.
